I don't even know what to title this Topic except HELP!!!
Ok I will try and be as descriptive as possible.
Everyone is having similar problems, sorry for the repeat if this is a repeated event.
I just got a refurbished mini ipod (2nd generation) on ebay. It works on my old iMac fine, but I only use my mac at work and not a home. I have an Windows XP service pack 2 compaq labtop 76477-OEM-0011903-00101 (If that means anything). I have all the requirements. I have 2.0 USB ports. I have the latest iTunes. I could always figure out the problem with most things.
This bloody ipod doesn't want to work!!!! Before it couldn't find the ipod. And while I fittled with my computer and probably made it worse. It can see the ipod, but iTunes doesn't even know it's there. I tried it on my brother's computer. That had Windows XP etc, ect. AND I used a 1.1 USB port to load and it RECGONIZE IT PERFECTLY! I tried to load an old itunes. I did everything on apple.com about it. I don't even know if I should go on Windows site to get some info if my computer just doesn't like me.
I tried to put it on my boyfriend's computer, but now it's telling my the audio/song playback isn't working and I can't even add songs, play music on his computer. (And if anyone knows how to solve that issue that would be great!)
So please help because I really don't want to send this thing back.

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

While I agree that it would be nice if it was easier to transfer media from your Apple devices they should never be used as the sole location for any of your media. It's the online version of the song you are deleting from your library, if you hide it you won't see it any more.

Proxy Server is refusing connection - I don't even know what this means.
When I try to open Firefox I get the message Proxy server is refusing connection. I don't know what this means.
You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

How do I get the area above the open window to display information (as in closing that specific window, "Safari File Edit View History, etc.) without having to attempt to put the cursor on it to give me that info? I am not referring to the dock which is at the bottom of my screen. Although,It too, is not visible.

Sorry, but I have no clue as to what this topic should be.When you do Safari to it's maximum size on the screen (with the two little arrows in the Safari top menu bar on the right), Safari will take the whole screen including the top Apple menubar. In that menubar is the same set of little arrows to bring Safari back to it's previous size (which you can set by moving it's borders), you bring the Apple menubar in sight by moving the mousepointer to the top of the screen, when you do not want to loose that apple menubar, you can set Safari as bog as you can by moving its borders but just until below the apple menubar. Don't touch the little arrows in Safari menubar.

New to BlackBerry - don't even know how to get internet! Please help!
That is half a lie - I have successfully connected to the internet using wi-fi, but I want to connect using the BlackBerry browser (if that's what it's called), or Orange World (I am with the network Orange in the UK).
So - I have no idea how to do this. I got my 8900 this morning, and the salesman assured me that I could have unlimited time and usage of the internet basically wherever and whenever I want. But I have no idea to get onto it! I have no icons which lead to this browser - the only internet I get connected to is a wi-fi one.
Do you have any advice on where to start? If you do not know what to do, do you think it would be better to contact BlackBerry or my network provider Orange?

You need THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your account tariff from Orange. Did you get that put on when you bought the device?

why does a document get a zipper on it, I downloaded it I don't know why it's "zipped" when I try to open it it make another copy I can't open what is the problem what did I do to cause this?
Zip is a method of compressing files for archiving, and is often used for downloading large files or installers.
Double-clicking the Zip file should unzip it, leaving the original file nearby on the dektop (or in whatever folder you downloaded to).
If the Mac's built-in tool can't open it, obtain Stuffit Expander from http://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html That will open most forms of compressed files. -

I understand that if I go to "File" and then to "Import" I should be able to somehow get all my previous files that where with the Internet Explorer browser relocated to the Mazilla browser...but I don't know how to do that. Give me detailed help please.
It did merge them after a fashion, glad I took a backup first even if I did only perhaps create 3 or 4 bookmarks today. So if I have bookmark separators, it's going to figure out which group to put them in (no way). Anyway I thought they would just go down to the bottom of the bookmarks menu like the other method, like when I export and import bookmarks in Firefox where they do go to the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder and would simply delete one folder.
Anyway this would not be typical because I don't want any bookmarks from IE. -

Yesterday, my Macbook shut off because of no power. I turned it back on about 20 mins later and my clock was wrong. I opened it and had to manually change the time from Dec 31, 2000 7 pm to current date and time. Next I noticed that Safari and FireFox were acting me for verification all the time on webpages. The biggest problem is that my Coursesmart app showed that one of my books was expired on 7-17-11, which isn't here yet. I tried to go to the website through the app and it said the certificate was not valid and that the website i was trying to go to might be fake. I talked to coursesmart up to the top techs, did some things with the computer like uninstall, update, keys,. they couldn't figure it out. I figured out that all of my certificates for anything are gone. I went through the key and found the area that says what my certificates are. Its like my computer has gone back and lost all of its information. Some websites are not working, passwords are not working, and its lagging sometimes. I can't timewarp my computer because it was never turned on. Please tell me whats wrong!
The abnormal shutdown most likely resulted in corrupted files. Start with this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If this doesn't work (probably won't) then backup your files and reinstall OS X. The SL installer will not erase the drive but will install a new copy of OS X then transfer all your files and applications into the new system.
