I don't got my pictures back from iTunes backup

I restored my iPhone trough iTunes and I did a backup before I restored it. But then when I restore the backup to my iPhone. I got everything back but I didn't got my pictures back. How can I solve this because I did a backup with iTunes.

When you transferred your files over you had to choose a destination, where did you choose? Or did you use Migration Assistant or a 3rd party transfer program? Did you check your Pictures folder? Desktop? Shared?

I assume these photos, or at least not all of them weren't in photo stream.
You should be able to recover your photos from a back up.

  • I got my MBP back from AppleCare, LCD whine fixed!

Hello, I just got my computer back from AppleCare to get the screen whine repaired. It quiet as ever and I'm very happy. I've had no issues with CPU whine, ever.

Congrads! It's always nice to hear something positive from Apple. They don't have time to do it right the first time but they have plenty of time to it over again. Either way, its stories such as yours that keeps me from canceling my MBP order which scheduled for 30 March shipment. If it takes longer I will be happy to wait. Reason: I'm praying for a serial number: W8610xxx or grater, meaning manufacturing date of: "86" = 2006 / "10>" meaning week ten or greater in the production cycle. I would be even happier if shows week "11" or "12" in the suffix since Apple has identified units with serial numbers of: W869xx… or below that are more susceptible of having a defective “inverter” w/noise that emits from the upper right corner of the keyboard. This valuable information comes from another Discussion Member who got lucky with an honest and knowledgeable tech support dude at Apple.

  • How can one view the pictures backed on iTunes from iPhone?

I lost my iPhone sometime back and need to access the contacts and pictures that I had backed up.  I don’t intend to buy another iPhone but I would like to get to access this information.  Is there a program or something that can do this?

It is not possible for you to retrieve contacts or pictures from iTunes backup without an iPhone.  There is a way to do this though – if you have a friend who has an iPhone, you can restore the information on their iPhone and then transfer it to a computer.  The backed up information will always be there, so just be patient till you can borrow an iPhone or get one.  You should also check if your contacts synced with windows contacts (Windows Address book on Windows XP, Windows Contacts on Windows Vista and 7, Address book on Mac, Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express), Google contacts or Yahoo Address book.  Pictures are not meant to be stored in backup and do not sync when your phone is connected.  You may need to import the pictures using a different program when the iPhone is detected as a digital camera.

  • Restored my 4S. How to get pictures back from the cloud?

Background: I had a 3GS and on launchday of the 4S I picked one up. A white 32GB on AT&T to be exact.
I had been having some issues with the battery, so today I figured I'd try and start fresh. Well, I backed up everything on the cloud, and I also backed up everything onto the computer in iTunes when I did the restore.
I've got my music back. Cool.
I've got my apps back. Great.
I can't seem to figure out how to get my photos from the camera roll back. Nor do I know how or if it is even possible to get the photos and my old text messages back on this new restore. Also, none of my mail is coming back either.
I can see my most recent backup in the iphone settings under iCloud. And I can also see my most recent computer backup on the computer. But I'm not sure what I need to do.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

    OK - understood.
There are a couple of ways of going about this. First, my recommended method:
Restore from a backup (so your photos, SMS etc are on the phone
    Connect to iTunes
Set the phone to sync photos to a relevant app on your desktop (what app depends whether you're Windows or Mac) - this gets your pics onto the desktop and safe.
If you want to save SMS, use PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Windows) or similar to copy them off the phone
Restore the phone as a new device
Get the photos back the way you got music etc back - via iTunes sync
The second method entails using one of the utuilities around the place that can extract from the backup - I have no experience with them, so I don't know how well they work. That's why I go for the first method - simpler, more robust.
By the way, I came across this other method for SMS:

  • Got my G5 back from the apple specialist (A Fixed Logicboard?)

So Just got my g5 back from the apple repair place. The computer had a problem with its logicboard, just spent a sh%t load on getting that repaired...
So bring it home, update the latest mac software, as i was burning a scratched cd-r, it stopped and said some kinda mac error, (probably something like the cd is unreadable, which makes sense) right then is when it froze... not even a force quit could save it. Restarted it no problem... played a game, an hour or two later, out of nowhere it did another ultimate freeze... Restarted it, now its not even loading, just still on the apple logo. This is what happend when the apple genius guys did a diagnostic on it originally before getting the new logicboard...
So first thing I will talk with the repair place see why its doing this again... But what do you think it is? Another bad Logicboard? I know its not a HD problem, but it might be a processor, right?
What do all of you guys think?
Thanks soooo much for your time!

If what you are seeing is a boot that only goes as far as the Apple logo, but never starts the spinning gear, then you've got what I had this last weekend...
What's happening in the sequence is BootX has checked the basics of your hardware and found things working by its quick test. It's not exhaustive, but it's not trivial either.
Then BootX transfers control to the boot code on the disk (I believe in a fixed location on the disk). That puts the Apple logo on the screen.
Then it starts to load drivers, and puts the spinning gear up.
If you never see the spinning gear, I would strongly suspect you have a boot disk problem. Likely the logical structure of the volume has a problem; possibly there are also surface problems on the disk itself.
Try starting up while holding the "Option" key down, this should give you a choice of drives to boot from. If you have the APP or Tech Tool disk, that's a good one to put in the CD drawer. Try a disk test from inside there, or if you don't have those, use the OS X install disk and run a verify from Disk Utility.
Write back and let us know how things progress.

  • I just got my Mac back from Apple repair and I can't burn a disc. What do I need to do to make that happen?

I just got my Mac back from Apple repair and I can't burn a disc. What do I need to do to make that happen?

    Hello deneye2112,
Thank you for providing the details of the burning issue you are experiencing.  I found some resources that I think might help:
First, I recommend resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac (I wasn't sure if you had a removable battery or a built in battery, so I listed the steps for both):
Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove
Note: Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.
    Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
    Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your ownNote: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the full article here:

If you are still having trouble with burning after that step, I recommend reviewing the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in the following article:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4".  Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files.  Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen.  Do you not have a backup?  The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.

  • çnow won't sync back to my iPad because it says I don't have permission on this computer. I don't want to download it from iTunes again because it took up a lot of bandwidth. What's the deal

I bourght "E O Wilson's Life on Earth" and backed it up to my iMac. Now it won't sync back to my iPad because it says I don't have permission on this computer. I don't want to download it from iTunes again because it took up a lot of bandwidth. What's the deal?
I also made the big mistake of downloading a free book about the making of the movie "Frankenweenie." Mega-memory eater. Now it wants to download additions and started to do so---now says paused. I can't delete the bloody thing. Seems like nothing I've downloaded, including free books, can be deleted. How can I get rid of this garbage?
Is there any way to just transfer my music from my iMac to my iPad and not affect anything else on my iPad? The whole iBooks thing is just a mess as far as I'm concerned. Is there any way to just drag and drop?

"I have logged in to my itunes account on a different computer and none of my purchased music is showing up."
Correct.  it does not magially appear in other places.  It will only be where you put it.
"I also have plugged my iphone in to get updates but it says I will lose all media and apps if I don't update on the computer where  I sync everything. "
Correct as well.  Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting some of them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  If you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Have just got my iphone back from my daughters who has been using it. I have put my sim card in and cannot update it or do anything as it is stating emergency calls only. it only recognises on itunes as her iphone what should i do please

i have just got my 3gs back from my daughter and i have put my sim card in and it comes up as emergency calls only. That is my first problem then when i plug it into itunes it only recognises it as her iphone can anyone help my please ?

I agree with wjosten. Sounds like a sim card issue. Was your sim card removed from a working, activated phone? I've switched sim cards in an iphone multilple times and never had a problem. You might try removing the sim card and reinstalling.
