I don't have a Mobilesync folder

Hi! I recently got an iPad mini. I'd like to delete the Mobilesync folder on my Macbook because the iPad takes so much space.
I know Mobilesync is supposed to be under the "Application Support" folder but Mobilesync wasn't there when I checked out the Application Support of my laptop.
Help, please! Thanks in advance!

No you don't want to delete the MobileSync folder because that is where your backup is stored.
You probably have way more junk on your Mac than that MobileSync folder accounts for in storage capacity anyway. Get an external drive and copy some of your infrequently used files onto the external drive and leave the MobileSync folder in place.
If you insist, this is where the folder should be.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

  • I've installed Firefox but don't have the Firefox folder in Application Support (but I need to access this to edit my profile since Firefox won't open)

Online troubleshooting tells me I have to go into my profile to edit something in order to get Firefox to launch. For now, it's telling me that only one copy of Firefox can be open at once. However, I don't have the Firefox folder in my Application Support, even though I've installed Firefox.

I get the same thing with Firefox, IE8, Opera, and Safari. It isn't a Firefox only problem.
Are you new to that webhosting service? <br /> Have you ever uploaded web pages to that same web hosting service previously, pages that worked after an upload? <br /> Are those pages listed as ''' "public" ''' pages in your web hosts control panel?
My suggestion is to "download" your homepage and associated files & images from your PC, up to the server, using your web hosts control panel and see how that works.
Beyond that, I suspect that you might have missed an important setting in Dreanweaver for uploading to the web host's server. You might try asking about this issue at a Dreamweaver support forum.

  • HT5333 why i don't have a dvd folder in the settings?

why i don't have a dvd folder in the settings?

    Got it.
The options have changed in the latest version – reduced from six to one.
But easy enough to make the presets. Just duplicate; change the bit rates  and save as custom.
Here are the 3 settings for Best Quality from C3.5, 120, 150, and 90 minutes respectively.
The difference between the above settings and Fastest Encode is 2 Pass vs 1 Pass.
Fame controls are off for SD sources and on for HD sources (to activate the Resize Filter).
The Dolby Digital preset for the audio stream is the same for all 3 settings.

  • How come I don't have a trash folder? If I accidentally delete something it's GONE!!! Everyone deletes something they don't mean to but it's not recoverable

I don't have a trash folder? If I delete a message it is GONE!!!!! I want a trash folder please!! Thank you

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_how-to-find-your-profile to locate your profile.
Using your File Explorer, go to your profile and the look at the level below that for Mail, and below that for Local Folders. There should be a file named 'Trash' and another named 'Trash.msf'
If either the 'Trash' file or the 'Trash.msf' file is there, delete them (!). Then restart TB. It should recreate the Trash.

  • On my Mac, on my folder I don´t have the library folder as I should ???!!!!

on my Mac, using the Finder, on my folder, I don´t have the library folder as I should.
    I think it is strange.
When I go to the time machine, the Library folder it is there, but the folder has not the same colour as the other folders (it is light grey)  !!!!

Starting in Lion Apple made the users Library folder invisible. If you want to see it in finder go to Go->Go to Folder and enter ~/Library, or hold down the option key while in the Go menu or else to make it permanently visible open a Terminal window and enter:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library

  • TS3899 I have an iphone 5c. I swiped an email from right to left and it disappeared ? It's not in archived or deleted folders?? Where will it be? I don't have a trash folder?

I have iphone 5c. I swiped email from right to left and it's disappeared? It's not in deleted or archive folders? Where will it be? I don't have a trash folder either?

    Hello Kizzyk,
I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. Take a look at the article below for more information and details on how to troubleshoot your issue further.

  • I don't have a locked folder to unlock it

    Hello,
My ipod classic 3 generation this morning was on lock, which it has never been since I got it. So I went online and found a way to unlock it. But unfortunately the only way to unlock it is to have a "locked" folder on my ipod which I do not have. How am I suppose to unlock it when the only way to is not there? Please help!!

I have restored my ipod and tried to restart it, but that doesn't seem to work either.
I saw online that you are to make your hidden files known and than you delete the locked folder and than my ipod should unlock, is it a lost cause to get it or do I need to get another ipod?

  • I Don't Have a ~/Library Folder!!!

Just upgraded to Lion 10.7.1, trying to find my Safari prefs file, which should be at ~/Library/Preferences, but I can't locate my ~/Library folder... it's not there! I thought the Mac would have problems without it, but everything, all my apps seem to be working fine.
I'm not blaming the Lion install for this... I don't know if the Library folder was there before...

Finder > Go To > Hold down ALT key and viola there is an entry for the Library
It's still there, but Apple decided to hide it from the user.

  • How do I add output module to Bridge if I don't have an extension folder?

I tried adding the output module to Bridge (why didn't it come with this???) but it says to put a folder in the Bridge Extensions folder.  I don't seem to have one.  What to do now???

There are two different Libraries on the Mac
The wrong one is located in users>Library (Hidden hold option)>Application Support>Adobe> No Bridge Extensions folder
The Correct one is Located here: Macintosh HD > Library (Not Hidden) > Adobe > Bridge CC Extensions > Workspaces
Two very big differences in folder location and the instructions found here: Install Adobe Output Module Only show the Library folder not which one it is. Problem solved.

  • How to importing AVCHD if I don't have all the folder files?

    Hi,
I have to cut a few videos. I have been given an external drive with .MTS files. However, all the files regarding the structure of the folder... are not there!!!!!
Now, when I import them to Adobe, they are glitchy and out of sync.
    - Do I have to convert them?
    - If so, to what codec/format?
    - With what program?
Thanks a lot for your help.
    Kind Regards.
    Robert

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, when I import the plain MTS, the audio is out of synch. However, it plays nicely on the Windows Player.
I have also copied to an internal drive, without success.
I have also used the recommended codecs in the guide you mention: DNxHD... nothing seems to work.
I am using: Premiere Pro CC 2014, on an intel Core i7 with 8Gb RAM lenovo.
    Any other ides?
    Thanks.

  • MobileSync Folder is HUGE

I have a mobilesync folder on my MacBook Pro and it is over 20g and I could really use this space. I have read that I can make this smaller by going on iTunes and going on preferences. I have recently updated to OS X Yosemite and I cannot find it anywhere. Could someone please tell me where I can find this folder or another way for me to reduce the size of this folder. If there is any other way for me to free up some more storage on my MacBook please let me know, I only have about 15g left and I really need more room. Thanks.

This is even bigger problem if you have multiple iOS devices and eg a MacBook with precious SSD space!  Eg if you have iPad and iPhone.   If you have another disk where you don't mind the backup going, then there is a solution.   In my case on MacBook Pro I have an internal SSD as well as an internal HDD but for most the HDD would be an external USB drive.  Just remember that this would now no longer be part of your time machine!
The solution is described here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1077298
It can be tricky for us non-tech to get the terminal command exactly correct.   So by way of example in my case the HDD is called "Macintosh HD"
the command that worked for me (AFTER I had copied the MobileSync folder that was on my SSD inside Library/Application Support
AND after I had deleted the MobileSync folder from its original SSD location was this:
    ln -s /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/MobileSync/Backup ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync
I tested it, and now /Library/Application Support still contains a folder, but it is only a shortcut to the real data.
I am not sure how MobileSync works longterm as that backup folder seems suspiciously big.   I am probably going to manually copy the mobilesyn to another network drive, then do a delete backup through iTunes, then backup again after I've cleaned up my phone a bit.   Remember that you can also delete old phone backups via iTunes in case like many you are on your Nth iphone...

  • I have a 30 GB MobileSync folder and no room on my drive

can i delete the older folders in this MobileSync folder and just leave the most recent?
all these folders have gibberish names and 30 GB is a huge amount of space to take up on my drive.
    THANKS

    Howdy hotweheels22,
If I understand correctly you are concerned about the amount of space being taken up by the Mobilesync folder on your computer. This is where your backups for your iOS devices are stored.
    iTunes: About iOS backups
Where are iTunes backups stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
If you want you can delete some of these you can do so with this info from the same article:
    Delete a backup in iTunes
If you want to delete a backup created by iTunes, follow these steps:
    Open iTunes Preferences:
    Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
    Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click Devices (the iOS device doesn't need to be connected).
iTunes will show the phone number, IMEI, and serial number of the backed up iPhone when you position your mouse pointer over a backup (iTunes shows only the serial number for iPad and iPod touch). You can use this to find the backup you want to delete.
Select the backup you want to remove and click Delete Backup.
Confirm you wish to remove the selected backup by clicking Delete Backup.
Click OK to close the iTunes Preferences Window.
Backups that have a date and time stamp in the backup name are copies of backups created by restoring the iOS device. The date and time in the left column are when the restore-from-backup occurred. The date and time in the right column are the last synced date; this shows how current the data is.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Sterling

  • Trying to reload firefox and getting this message, when moving to the applications folder: "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items."

Been having problems with Firefox/internet for several days, and all my updates seemed current. I decided to try to reload and have removed the other icons/download attempts from the app file. When I try to drag the icon into apps, I now get this message:
The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items.

    * Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded.
