I don't have a status bar!

Somehow Oryte! and Bing got to be my browser and I didn't want that, so I asked Firefox how to get rid of it. Whatever it said to do, I did -- but I lost the Firefox status bar. I just have blank tabs without any place to enter URLs or search, without using my bookmarked Google home page. And there is no "previous/next page arrows", so I can't go back a page -- I have to close the tab, go to Google and start over! I've downloaded Firefox 5.0 setup -- but I'm so not-technical that I don't know whether I must get rid of Firefox 4.0 setup first (how?) before opening or running 5.0 (which do I choose?). JUST HELP ME CLEAR THIS MESS AND INSTALL A WORKING 5.0, PLEASE!

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • HT3737 I have a new mac with Lion but I don't have a menu bar. How do I launch the menu bar?

I just booted up a new mac-mini that came with Lion. However, I don't have a menu bar.  Is there a setting I need to change?

If it's a fresh installation that is going through its initial boot sequence then you will need to run through utilities to set up your account, which may not show the menu bar. Once logged into your account the menu bar should show up. What happens when you click the little blue smily face icon in the Dock at the bottom of your screen (this is the Finder icon)?

  • I have my tabs, and my Yahoo toolbar. I do not anything else. I don't have my address bar, back button, home button, bookmark button, or anything. Please help. Thank you.

I can't use Firefox because all I have at the top of the screen is the orange Firefox button, tabs, and my Yahoo toolbar. I don't have my address bar. I don't have the back and foreward buttons. I don't have the Home button or the Bookmarks button. I don't have my Google search bar. I don't have any the things that I should have and that I need to make it work. How do I fix this? Thank you.

I have been using 4.0 for about 2 months, and I know all of the new features and where everything is. But as of day before yesterday, the things that I mentioned '''are not there anymore'''! How do I get these things back? Thank you.

  • When I browse, then select a site - as I click on a site nothing shows and 'done' is in the status bar - what do I do about this?

When browsing and selecting a site - once I click on that site instead of opening the site the page is just blank and 'done' shows in the status bar. This has only started in the last couple of months - previously it worked fine! I installed Chrome and do exactly the same without any problems at all. I prefer to use Firefox Mozilla but had encountered this problem which is most frustrating. I cannot make the selected site open. e.g. I asked "Airports in the world" and found many sites. I selected 'azworldairports.com' but clicking on this just produces a blank page. What do I do now? Please help.

    No cmd argument
Um, so I think I remebered the command incorrectly and I did -showdevices instead. Sorry.

What version of Pages are you running?
In Pages '09 there is a zoom control bottom left of the Pages window for Two Up.
Two Up is not available in Pages 5 as far as I know.

  • HT4796 Should I have a status bar during migration of files?

It may take several hours (days even if you elected to do this over a wireless connection) Don't stop, you have barely started.

  • I don't have the url bar at the top--is there a way to get it to appear

I recently purchased a Mac desktop and when I open Safari, I don't have the bar to type in a web address.  Does anyone know how to fix this?
    thank you

    Hi sackss --
Go up to the top Safari menu bar on your screen . . .
Select the "View" tab, and then go down to "Customize Toolbar."
Then, take anything you'd like and drag it over to your toolbar.
The URL bar is there, and lots of other useful things.
    Hope this helps.

By default Firefox normally uses Google for searches, but you have many other choices.

You've moved stuff around so the tabs are at the top instead of my tool bar. I no longer have the means then to copy and paste, print, etc. when I pull up information I might want to keep from a web page.
