I don't have an app store and it won't install a new one. How do I get one?

I have already gone through the steps that the apple page has told me to do to get the app store installed onto my macbook pro. After I do the software update it simply says that there is nothing to be updated or installed and I am forced to quit. Is there another way to download the app store?

Uaually when you purchase something from the app store and it has downloaded, you see an install button. I found nothing of that nature. I have a late model 2009 mac mini with plenty of memory and plenty of disk space. What am I missing?

Can you check in your Applications Folder to see if the installer is still there. You are confused on some things, because the installer should be giving you a DOWNLOAD text on the purchases page, not install.

I'm beginning to feel totally frustrated and functionally illiterate. I've been trying to log into the app store. The apple Id that shows is not the original one I set up when I got my iPad. When I enter the password for the Id that shows, I get the message that I cannot log in. Is there a way for me to change which id shows up?

Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap the Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign in with the Apple ID of your choosing.

I just upgraded the OS to the newest one in the app store and it deleted files from my Finder. How do I get those back? They are extremely important.

So here is everything. I work in a public place and I allow my PC to be used at my work because some of my peers are a little light on funds. I created a second profile at work for them but I realized one day someone got into my profile. I thought ok no biggie ill just hide my pertinent work files. Im not a great PC kind of guy so I opened the finder and opened the Library folder. Then I created a new file in there called (other crap) and placed all my HR paperwork in that file. This was when I had snow leaopard. I just upgraded to the new OS but now when I open the Finder there is no Library folder and all of my HR paperwork is now gone. This will be a nightmare for me if I cannot get this file back. Can someone please help me? Is there a way to revert back or something?

Nothing has been deleted.
The Library folder is just hidden now. Hold down the Option key while clicking on Go in the Finder's menu and you'll see that you can open the Library folder.
Once opened, drag the folder to the Finder's sidebar, so that you open it more easily next time.

You need 10.6.6 or later for the App Store. You need 10.6.8 or later for Mountain Lion. Make sure you have these other requirements for Mountain Lion so you can be sure to have Facetime support when you are ready to upgrade to Mountain Lion:

App store in added as part of 10.6.6 and later. Make sure you have run all updates. What version of the OS is reported using the menu item " > About this Mac"?

To get to the App Store, you need to upgrade the Tiger machine to Snow Leopard.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

It requires a Mac running 10.6.8 to be installed. Snow Leopard can be purchased at the Apple Store for about $20.

Have you tried downloading the shows via the purchased tab in the iTunes app? That is where you will be able to find previously purchased TV shows. Try in there, but take note.

At first, it can be difficult to determine which version of Numbers you are using. The user interfaces are different, but if you are new to the apps you may think you are using the new version when if fact you have launched the older version. Make sure you are using Version 3.x. Then you won't get the message that you need a newer version.
Use Spotlight to launch Numbers. After typing Numbers into the search field, pick the result that says "Numbers -- Applications".

Moutain Lion is playing up on my machine. Software update won't open, or App Store, and Mail won't let me select messages. Everything else takes at least 20 seconds to open fully.
Any ideas on what to do here?

Okay no worries, can't find where to delete this post...

My iPod touch will access the app store, but it won't install from it.

I was given a used iPod Touch, and I don't know any of its history. Eveything was working fine, and then one day I tried to install from the App store and it won't work at all. I can press the "install" button, but then the app store will just close without even setting up an icon on the home screen. If I try to install the same app again, there's no record that I had tried to install it previously. I use this for school, so this is really annoying.
PS: I am a clueless Windows user, and have never owned and i-anything until now. =)
