I don't have any volume. When I push the mute button or try to increase the volume up or down nothing happens. The volume shows up as if it were at full volume but no sound. I am so frustrated.

I need some help with the volume on my macbook pro. I am getting absolutely no sound no matter if I push the volume increase or decrease button. Nothing changes. The volume bar shows up as if it were at full volume but no sound and the mute button doesn't do anything either.

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers.
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port or not, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    Try this even if you don’t see the red light.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
    Audio Devices window
    Side Bar
    Click the Built-in Output.
    Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so,uncheck it.
6. System Preferences > Sound> Sound Effects
    Play sound effects through:
   Select "Internal speakers" and then back to "Selected sound output device".

Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.

[ReachIt] The sharing files progress bar don't have any changes when share file to another machine

Install ReachIt 2.0.5.2, go to video folder to select a file, select shareit to send the video file to another machine, the progress bar don't have any changes after the file have been sent successfully.

When I go to tools and select 'add-ons' nothing happens. In troubleshoot help it says I don't have any and when I try to install one nothing happens either. Never had this prob before... Any ideas??

Ok I just went to post this and it said it has not been asked before and asked me to log in with more info. The title says it all really. The option is there under tools and looks normal but it has no functionality.
My adblock plus is still blocking ads, so even though I can't see or access my add ons they are still working in the background.
I searched for add ons and tried to install one to see if it would open them up and restart firefox but once I selected 'install', again... nothing happens.

Try to uninstall the current Java version and maybe delete the Java installation folder (C:\Java) if that didn't work.

From which folder did you delete the extensions.* files?
Firefox should have recreated at least extensions.rdf.

The server error message on blogger happened about the same time, and although there have been rare occasions where it worked, but mostly it doesn't. I've tried a couple of times every day, and it's only worked twice. But I am able to do it on other browsers, leading me to believe it's a firefox problem. (For the record, blogger seems to have recently updated their pic upload feature).

This usually happens if Spotlight is disabled on a drive. When you tried MacPilot, did it have an option to disable Spotlight? I haven't used the app, so don't know whether that is the case or not, but if it did and you inadvertantly, or even deliberately, disabled Spotlight then the Finder won't display anything but the most basic information about a file--thus you won't see dimensions or Last Opened, just size and dates created and modified.

The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.

I'm afraid that a free replacement is very unlikely, the warranty does not cover accidental damage and a cracked screen seems to be just that.

After automaticly updated to the version 7 the extensions page in the Add-ons Manager went blank and give this sentence "you don't have any add-ons of this type installed" but all the add-ons still working in the program

Did you do this through one of the Office app updates, or did you download it directly from the Microsoft website?
Whichever way you tried it, I would try it the opposite way this time, although simply repeating what you did before may also work.

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?

What part of "Ignore" is not clear? No you shouldn't worry about it.
You have loads of photos on your Mac - things like icons and other interface elements, screenshots in Help files and such things.
Really. You don't have a problem. You can remove all those images files if you want, it's just that your Mac won;t work if you do.

I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode. If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues. I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion.

I'm not running any weird background processes and in my energy saver settings I've tagged "put the hard disk to sleep when possible:, "allow power button to put computer to sleep" and "automatically reduce brigthness". All pretty standard.
Is there anyone who can give me some pointers ?

Today I solved the same problem for my iMac running Snow Leopard. See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3008791#15947706. The method may help you, too.
For me it was the DynDNS Updater preventing my iMac from automatically entering sleep mode.
To my knowledge the cause of this sleep problem can only be a peripheral device or a process. So I suggest to first unplug all peripherals and test whether that's the cause. If not, I suggest to terminate one process after another and to test automatic entering of sleep mode after each. Start with user processes; continue with system process if necessary.
At least that's the way I found the offending process. Fortunately, I was able to change the configuration of that process to allow again automatic entering of sleep mode.
