I don't have facebook login like I do with twitter in my mail setting
I upgraded to mountain lion yesterday. Under mail in system preferences, apart from my own email accounts, I can see twitter, vimeo, flickr etc. but there is no facebook. Can anyone tell me how to set up facebook so I can have push notifications & access facebook directly on my macbook air?

If your iMessage and FaceTime still hasn't activated by now, I would recommend you use this specific section of the following article as long as you verify you've done all the other troubleshooting from it for this issue:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.

If you can't get the account's password reset via http://appleid.aple.com then try contacting Support in your country, they should (after they've confirmed your id and that it's your account) be able to reset it for you.

If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
After it's been reset change the primary email address on the account to be an address that you have access to : Change your Apple ID.
And check/correct the date of birth on the account (select the Password And Security section on the account on http://appleid.apple.com, answer the security questions, and on the next screen the DoB should show). -
What settings do I change so I don't have to login every time I boot?
I just got a new imac and whenever I reboot, I am being prompted to enter my password. I've never had this with any of my other macs. How do I turn this setting off? I just want to boot or reboot and not have to login.

I tried to download a driver from Panasonic for my camcorder. It puts an Icon on my desktop that is called set-up1.exe. when I try to open this I get an error message that says I don't have a program to open it. any suggestions. Also, I tried to download the latest ITunes. It put an Icon on my desktop but won't let me open it or run it.
In general, you don't need drivers for camcorders on Macs, and the .exe file you downloaded is a Windows program, which won't run on a Mac unless you also have Windows installed.
It would help a lot if you tell us the exact model camcorder you are using, and what application you want to use it with.
Regarding iTunes, the latest version is iTunes 11. You need to have OS X 10.6.8 or later to install iTunes 11. Your profile says you have OS X 10.4.11, which is a much older version of OS X, so you won't be able to install iTunes 11. (Here are the iTunes 11 specs.) -

If you ever synced your phone with iTunes, you can find your serial number by doing the following:
Launch iTunes on your computer.

Can't install latest version of Firefox. Continue to get message "update failed". When I try to install a downloaded version get message that I don't have the proper permissions. What' up with that?
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

ITunes says I don't have the required software to communicate with an ipod
Every time I start iTunes I get the following error message:
The software required for this iPod [nano 7, firmware version 1.0.3] is not installed correctly.
Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software.
I have reinstalled iTunes about ten times, with elevated privileges, both in normal mode and safe mode, and under the administrator account. Itunes says it was successfully installed, but it obviously wasn't since I still get the same error message after each installation. I also tried repairing iTunes and rolling back iTunes but all with no success. I have also tried uninstalling all apple related programs and services from my computer (bonjour, icloud, itunes, quicktime, AppleMobileDevice service, iPod folder from the programs folder, the apple directory in the temp folder). I have also used 7-zip to open the package and tried to only run the iTunes installer, which didn't work any better. I have checked to make sure the AppleMobileDevice service is running and it is set to automatically start with windows (bonjour service is also configured to start automatically). And yes I have verified that they are both running. I have also reset my ipod settings, as well as starting iTunes while holding control+ shift. Windows recognizes that my ipod is attached and has installed the drivers successfully. I am running Windows 7 home premium, 64-bit and I am trying to install iTunes 12.0.1.

I recently requested my 4s to be unlocked by my network provider, they did this and advised I needed to connect to itunes to complete the unlocking.
The problem is I can't do this as I no longer have access to the old computer with itunes on, is there anyway round this?

I don't have the login information for my podcast
I work for a content producer and we're not sure who submitted our podcasts to iTunes years ago. Right now iTunes says that the creator is "Unknown". How do I claim these podcasts as my own and manage the account? I can prove that I own the content, but I have no log in information. Who do I email about that?
You don't actually need the account details to manage the podcast. As long as you have access to the server you can simply update the feed and re-upload it, and iTunes will pick up the changes - subscribers will see changes immediately but the Store will usually take a couple of days to catch up.
If you come to a point where you need the account details you may be stuck. You could email [email protected] and give them the iTunes reference number, but as you can't easily prove that you do indeed own the podcast they well not give you the account details, and almost certainly won't tell you the password (though if you can get the account name you may be able to sign in at http://appleid.apple.com and reset it - this would involve answering pre-set security questions). -
How to closed open app in 3G (don't have multitasking display like in 3GS and 4G)?
Since 3G has slower CPU and smaller RAM compare to 3GS and 4G, then I think it should be useful if we could completely shut down app when we stop using it.
When the RAM gets used up, the iPhone will shut down apps all by itself, you needn't do anything. Of course, that doesn't always mean it works perfectly. The only way to close apps is to turn the phone off and back on again, which may be overkill most of the time, but I found necessary when I had a satnav app running, slowing everything else to a crawl.

The details are in the question. It happens every time and with every account as I have several. It never happened before the latest "upgrade." I can still access the accounts with IE or Chrome so the accounts are fine.
