I don't have the airplay button

I have a iPhone 4 ios 6.1.3 and for some reason I never get the airplay button. I do not have an apple tv, however I do have the reflector app, which is what i am trying to connect to. I have even once seen the airplay button on my phone. I am connected to the same wifi and via bluetooth to the computer. The airplay button is not visible from any app.

I just update to 4.2 and I don't see the Airplay button, is it only visible when you have a airplay device compatible visible from the Ipad?

Yes it is there, in both iPhone 4 and iPad on IOS4.2.1
You need to ensure you are connected to the same LAN network as the airport/airplay device, and then choose the device form the iPhone/iPad to connect, it is very simple and does work...
I have 2 devices, and they both connect to any device i have on the airplay network.
Remember if you set up a password for the airplay device you will need this to be able to connect...!
I will also point out, that if you are currently connected to these airplay devices using iTunes on the same network, this MAY restrict airplay from finding them as they will be considered to be "in use" and there for won't show up. The best way to check on this, is change your iTunes too computer only.

You do not have to have an Apple TV, but you should have an AirPlay capable speaker on your network.

I restarted the iPad, it is okay now! I think it is because I have been using the smart cover for too long, without shutting down the iPad completely! It just works fine with the airplay signal appearing again after restarting the iPad.

Airplay: I don't have the airplay option at all.

Why don't I have the airplay option. As per the user manual, I need to start the video or music and tap and choose the AirPlay device. But I don't get that button. Is there any application that I need to install? I even tried searching for airplay in appstore. No relevant apps were reflected. Do I have to first connect the airplay enabled device and then it shows that button or something's wrong with my iPod touch?

You should be able to switch back and forth this way:
If the classic menu bar is not displayed, tap the Alt key to display it and then use
View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
to make it persistent. It should replace the orange Firefox button. To switch back, uncheck
View > Toolbars > Menu Bar

Hi, I'm setting up an account for my brother, but apparently we need a credit card. Neither of us own one and the system won't let us continue without one. When I created a new account on my computer's iTunes yesterday, I first logged out of my existing account. I then found a free app in the store, clicked on it's free 'price' to 'buy' it, clicked on 'create Apple id' and filled in details about the new account and which gave me the option of 'none' for the payment details - clicking on the 'verify' email that I received then allowed me to download a free app.

I have reinstalled the drivers. I watched it install the realtec and cirrus drivers. Hovering the mouse over the speaker icon says 'speakers: HP'. They are actually 'Creative'. 'Properties' indicates 'IDT High Definition CODEC' and 'This device is working correctly'.
Driver details gives 'c:\Windows\system32\drivers\dmk.sys'.
There is still no sound, although the little level meter on the control shows a green bar rising and falling.
Obviously, it thinks it's working, but there's no connection to the speakers. They're not muted, either. I checked that too.
Any other ideas?
