I updated to ios 7.1 on Thursday. My ipad basically does not work any more. I am running around in circles on this site and on other "forums" trying to fix. ??? Don't have time for this.....Any advice appreciated.

Mac book pro acting like my good ol'PC which cost a lot less. Won't load yahoo emails, get the beachball, slow, etc etc. Not what I paid for....and Apple care on the phone is even less help they $^&% around for some time without a solution, then tell you they will send you to a "senior tech".....huh? Like my money back for this so called service. I end up taking my time to go to the genius bar where they have helped. But this is getting tedious.

So is it just me, or is Mavericks a bust? My MBP runs much hotter since the upgrade. Why do I need ot sit around watching Activity Monitor, manually controlling my fans, and deleting extensions that I enjoy using. Don't even get me started on the Quicktime/Mov issues. I had none of these issues on Mountian Lion. Searching these forums, I see it's not just me. Why would Apple release a new system w/o peoperly testing it on MBPs?
I don't have time for trial and error solutions. I've tried the obvious ones. No help. Is Apple offering a way to downgrade back to Mountain lion? Or better yet, a Mavericks update that adresses these problems? As of now, I want out of Mavericks ASAP.
My processor is 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7.
8 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3 memory.

Nobody owns a ML install disc - ML was only ever distributed as a download from the Mac App Store.
If you have a Time Machine backup, you can boot into recovery mode and restore from your Moutain Lion TM backup volume. If you have a system clone, then you can boot from the clone, and just clone ML back onto your internal drive.
Going back to your previous installation from a backup should be trivially simply if you have the backup in hand. -

OMG! I had no intention of starting a discussion, it is 4:15 am and I need to be in bed sleeping! I have spent the last 4 + hours updating and syncing my phone now I have no service ... turned it off thinking it may reboot, but now it will not turn on! I don't understand why I have to encourage people (I assume those who own iphones to answer my questions). It would make more sense to me to have an Apple representative answer ... It is getting worse, before I can send I must choose a community to join. I honestly don't want to join a community ... I just want my questioned answered by the people whom I purchased my cellular phone from ... please!

Does anyone have time for this one? photoshop 2014 gradient not working.
Working on a project with photoshop 2014 updated thursday night using foreground to transparent gradient. The edges of the picture are staying white instead of being transparent over the background or other pictures. I thought I was using the gradient correctly converting the pic to a png file, setting the mask, then applying the gradient to the edges. Is there something I am missing??? Please help.
below is a snip of the effect i am looking for. i remember it working in the trial version late 2013 photoshop. it was so simple i thought it would be hard to forget how, but i must be missing something. i looked, clicked and checked all around the work space to find a way to change from "background layer" and did not find it. the trial version (lets call it "trial period" because its all the same except paid for now along with updated to ps 2014) did also have the layer change in an easy to find way. i believe it was double click or right click over the currently active layer in the list as in the lower snip pic.
the pic above did work during my trial period so i know it works somehow. i dont know what i am missing now. right click or double click now does not bring up the layer type selection in the menu like you suggested to change from backgroung layer. also every new picture file i open makes its own new layer. when i make a new layer i havent figured out how to put a pic in it. if you could show me how to create this effect or find my missing step that would be awsome. -

Seriously, Stop the DUPLICATE Madness! Is there a fix for my duplicate songs on my iPad? Like really, I don't have time to drag and delete my songs. Does Apple really have a simple solution for this bug? It's been 5-months, I currently do not have quick access to a sync, I thought iMatch for Christmas would solve the problem but it appears that doesn't solve anything either....help please! If I listen to my kid's lula-bye song in duplicate for another night I'm going to seriously loose it on Little Boy Peep. Like really Apple do I need to call IN and pay for this problem?
The possible problem appears to me that songs that were previously loaded onto the iPad device from Mac were duplicated when I started to sync with iCloud. An album will contain one song from the iPad that was originally loaded on sync with Mac and another that will appear either with a little iCloud icon next to the song greyed out or a DUPLICATE song.
I had hoped iMatch would solve the issue magically, but that does not appear to be the case. -
Hi all- I'm new to this online community of Apple support; my iPhone 5s is stuck on a screen that has the connect to iTunes icon, this started after I upgraded to IOS 8.1.1 from the beta to fixed version; I don't use iTunes and have an IPad, home PC, office PC, and Galaxy Tab, and I went through (failed) the process of installing itunes on my office PC but needed to update windows; after going through all redommendations I could find, including Apple phone support, I still haven't had success. Does anyone know a way to get my phone past that screen? I don't have time to keep doing updates and installation attempts;'I don't care about the content at this point; but I can't get to the settings to "reset all" and start from scratch; I bought i loud for storage and have an old 4s that has a broken screen butt still works and I have another active 4s on my plaN. Im not tech savvy myself; but I know some community members are pure geniuses! !I just need a fast way to fix this bug;'I use it for work and it's been inaccessible all week, the only time I have to go to an Apple Store is this weekend; I don't want to move to the iphone6 because it's too big. No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

I updated to iOS 5.0. Now each time I sync the "other" category of memory grows. It is now up to 7.5 GB and I don't have room for videos. I deleted a .3 GB video and the tried to put it back on. Now it says the memory is full. It seems to not release memory once something is deleted.
You need to restore your iPad now since "other" continues to grow with each sync. Something got corrupted when you were syncing and that is what probably caused this. This will explain how to restore.

You can restore from a backup at the very end of the process - but if you restore from the backup and then the problem does not go away, you will have to restore to factory settings and then add all of your content back onto the device.
BTW ... Other contains all of your app data, bookmarks, contacts, emails, text messages, some game save data and things of that nature. -

When displaying a Google map I get about four vertical strips that alternately display good and in gray bands. The gray area displays the message "we are sorry, but we don't have maps at this zoom level for this region." Zooming out doesn't get rid of the gray areas.
I've had this problem for over a year and get around it by using either MS Internet Explorer or Google Chrome which work Ok. Otherwise Firefox works fine and I use it for everything else except Google Maps.
I've tried an uninstall of FireFox and then reinstall but it didn't help. I don't remember what I was doing when this problem first showed up.You're welcome
