I don't know how to update my outdated PowerBook
I have a PowerBook G4, its running on OS X 10.4.11, and i am planning on using this exclusively for Pro Tools 11. but i need a more up to date version to use Pro Tools. it says i need 10.5 to get 10.9 but i have no clue how. Any suggestions?
The early PB G4 from Jan 2001 to Nov 2002 can only be upgraded to MacOS X 10.4.11. Those with the 867MHz or greater CPU can run Mac OS X 10.5.8 maximum. If you purchase. Mac OS X 10.5 install disks (eBay and some links below) then be sure to get the ones with the large X on the front and not the all gray type. The later are machine specific and will not work in most machines.

Update what? The operating system on the iPad? If that's what you mean, then if you have iOS 5 and are connected to a WiFi network, you can update it by going to the General settings and selecting "Software Update". If your iPad still is on iOS 4.x, then you will have to have access to a computer running the latest version of iTunes to update.
If that's not what you meant, please post back and explain further what it is you wish to accomplish.

I inherited my iPhone from my husband so most of the apps are under his old Apple ID/business email account but his email account is no longer accessable since he has recently retired and no longer can use his business account. I don't know how to update the 45 apps that he purchased that are still on my phone.

I am trying to update an app, but its asking to connect to a wifi or downlown it in itunes. There are several apps that need updating, I can't do either or, or maybe I just don't know how to do it.It's saying that the app is over 50MB. But it's not telling me which app. Help!!!!!!!!!
Well, I just purchased Linksys wifi and hooked it up. It's running fine. When I go to my IPhone settings to see is I'm connected to a wifi, it shows that I am not connected. When I hit my wifi to see or to connect, it takes me to the wifi networks and it's showing my secured wifi as being locked and my guess wifi as not locked. How do I sign in to my own wifi network.

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.

In updating my iPod to 6.1.2, I received an error during the update. Now, my ipod is not rebooting. It continues to display a screen showing usb to Itunes picture. Turning off and back on, it goes back to this picture. I don't know how to reset so that I can restore from my backup.
A similar thing happened when I updated the ios on my ipad. But, I was able to reboot, and then restore from backup. How can I get my ipod to reboot and allow restore when it is not even recognized as I reconnect to my computer?Try:

Nokia Lumia 928 apparently died after an attempted Windows 8.1 update. Replacement phone arrived the next day. How can I restore my contacts, photos, etc.? Backup assistant is no help and I don't know how to access the Cloud.
Did you have the phone set to backup things to the One Drive on Microsoft servers?

I right clicked my iPod on iTunes and clicked restore from back up because i thought it would undo my IOS6 update. IT DELETED ALL MY PICTURES (2,000) AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THEM BACK!!!! Please help me!!!!!

I recently thought I was updating my Safari browser. When completed, I put all those little files that were on the desktop into the trash. Now my trash is saying it can't be emptied because there are locked files and I don't know how to unlock them or get them out of my trash and they keep multiplying. And to make matters worse, I tried renaming them as pdf files thinking that might do the trick.
oh boy ! I'd ask you if you knew what kind of files they were or where they came from, but I don't think you could help me a bunch. Try going to the Utilities folder and running Disk Utilities. If you want to empty the Trash and it won't empty, go to the finder and choose "secure Empty trash". Worse case scenario-you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard, but I don't know what else to suggest. If you have a DVD of Snow Leopard, boot up from that, and reinstall the OS. This will not touch the stuff you have on your Hard Drive, then you can update from 10.6 to 10.6.8, otherwise Onyx? Maybe those files are part of the OS which needs them to keep running. if you hold down the Shift key on reboot, you can reboot in Safe mode and maybe you can take the files out of the trash that way

Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

When requested I tried to down load the latest update for itunes and now I cant open itunes as it says Ive lost the MSVCR80.dll file and I don't know how to repair it.

iMac at work, iMac at home. (Latest Yosemite and Apple Remote Desktop updates installed) Need to work from home at night. I don't know how to set my permissions so that I can just control my iMac at work.
If they have set up port forwarding for you already then that is different. In that case, then you could be experiencing the bug with the most recent release of ARD (3.7.2) and in particular ARD 3.7.2 and Yosemite ARD version 3.8 clients. It has been reported numerous times in the forums and to Apple that since 3.7.2, clients are frequently unavailable to connect to despite there being no network issue between the remote computer and client computer. I have not seen anyone report it who was working from outside the LAN to inside the LAN, but I have the same issue with a number of my own computers that are simply on a different subnet, so it stands rot reason that it would happen from a port forwarding location.
I am sometimes able to resolve the issue locally by SSH connecting into the client computer using Terminal on my admin machine and restarting or relaunching the ARD agent on the remote device, then trying to connect to it again after about 30 seconds.
The Terminal commands for this procedure are as follows, though you might need to include a port number from outside the LAN:
First:
ssh ipaddress -l adminusername
(example: ssh 192.168.1.1 -l macadmin)
Second:
sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -restart -agent
After that, waiting about 30 seconds and trying to observe or control usually works, though the computer may still fail to show an online or lit-up status indicator. -

whenever you click a picture in photobooth you have to manually insert it one by one in iphoto
i want to know is there any other option in iphoto which can do this type of thing(adding pictures automatically to iphoto )
so that i do not have to do it manuallyOnce you take the photo with Photo Booth, select the photo in the tray at the bottom and click on the iPhoto button just abouve and to the left:

That will import the photo into iPhoto automatically. But PB does not import any and all photo taken into iPhoto automatically. That choice is left to the user.
