I don't know what I'm doing... :(

I'm lost with this program. I just moved up from Garageband but I can't seem to figure out how to work it. I dragged a garageband song file to Logic Express to edit it further but can't seem to get any sound coming out of my speakers while the song is playing. Last time this happened, it had something to do with the bussing but I'm not positive. I'm also having trouble trying to use my griffin audio input and also monitor what i'm playing. When using garageband, I'd use my griffin audio input to plug my guitar directly in to the computer and I could monitor myself playing while I recorded. Though in Logic, I can't seem to find how to turn the monitoring on. Can anyone help me with any of this?
Also, are there any actually decently cheap lessons on using Logic out there?

Although i can second what has been said (Read The Fine Manual...), i recommend the following:
Regarding Sound output, search this forum for "aggregate device". This is a virtual audio device you can set up using OS X Audio-Midi-Setup Application and it contains both your griffin thing and the built in outputs of your mac. Now you have to select this device as audio device within logic and set the appropriate inputs and outputs manually. This is the #1 most FAQ in this forum i guess.
Regarding Logic lessons, search youtube for logic and you'll find many lessons for free.
Start with simple things. Don't try to edit a whole project at first. Do your learning step by step. It is a steep learning curve, but worth the effort.
Ask here in the forums if the manual don't give you the right answers.

If this is a new shuffle, make sure the plug on the USB cable is completely inserted into the shuffle's headphones jack, as shown in this document

If it is properly connected, does the shuffle's light come ON at all, when you connect it to USB? If it does, what does it do immediately after connection?

TestStand 4.1.1 Evaluation Version Limitation? or I just don't know what I am doing?

I am currently using TestStand 4.1.1 Evaluation version. I looking at customize the interface. I am using LabWindow CVI. I opened the source and its UIR. I tried to add a button on the panel, but it doesn't seem to change any appearance at all when I compiled and run the executable. I wonder if it is because I am using evaluation version or I just don't know I am doing?!
Secondly, I am also look at integrating source control into TestStand. From the standard menu, I saw grayed out "Source Control" option. Again, is it is because of the evaluation version? Or if I need to setup something in order for this to work? Currently, in my computer, I know I have SourceSafe.
Any information would be great!

i am not aware of any books that help much in this rather special case.
Taking a look into the function which does the resizing:
static int ArrangeControls(int processEvents)
you can see that the code first of all asks for the size of the whole panel.
After this, this size is split up into different rectangles which represent the different parts of the panel (e.g. tab control).
Each rectangle has now the size fitting to the current panel size. So all you need to do next is to step into each pane and resize its controls (e.g. buttons, listboxes,...)
So you see a lot of SetCtrlAttribute-calls with the parameter ATTR_WIDTH and ATTR_HEIGHT.
All you need to do is to include your control in this algorithm for the appropriate pane you used to place your control.

HELP! Blackberry newbie I don't know what I'm doing

Hello,
I'm new to the Blackberry world! I have had many Palm pda's but have never had so much trouble or problems with them as I have with the BB. I know it must be something I'm doing because I hear nothing but praise on the BB. I installed the desktop software about 4 times before it actually started working. I tried to install the RIM Media manager but, it doesn't work quite well needed to get into my computers reg. to delete the RIM program. I tried to sync my palm centro with the bb but, it says working on the computer but, nothing is going on half hour later.....still waiting.
I was told I could transfer my programs from my centro and still, I have no clue what I'm doing. I tried to install the music on the bb but it says network error or that it couldn't connect to that page. I also tried to do the bluetooth transfer to the bb from the palm but, still the palm says it cannot connect to bb. I'm loosing my mind trying to get all of this together and I'm ready to give back the bb and stay with my centro.... someone please help....

Unable to open Adobe Creative Cloud. Please Help! Don't know what I am doing.

I quit out of the CC icon on the Apple Toolbar and couldn't get it to reappear yesterday. Today it has appeared but it is 'inactive', ie. in grey. When I position my mouse to it, I get the 'spinning colour wheel of death'. To make things worse, I then couldn't get the app to open from Applications. I got the error:
I then tried to uninstall the app, and reinstall it from the site, and received this message:
I don't know where it's opened, and now I trashed the app to be able to reinstall the Creative Cloud app, but am receiving the same message.

I don't know what I am doing

Hey.. I just bought my zen micro... i love the player itself...but coming from itunes, which is amazingly easy and simple to use, the creative mediasource is sooo hard for me to get the hang of! First, i had to figure out how to get my songs from itunes (aac) to mediasource (wma). not easy... now, i don't understand how to edit my songs, playlists, etc... i can't do anything!! if there's someone who wouldn't mind helping me out..please reply or write and let me know.... thanks! jason. This is not MediaSource's issue.

The first task you need to do is to add all your songs into MediaSource's PC Music Library. After that, it is not difficult to figure out how to use MediaSource. Editing track properties and creating playlist is very simple. To transfer tracks to your devices, you need to click a button at the bottom right of MediaSource to open up another panel to facilitate the transfer.

I got a new laptop and connect to comcast just fine. Now I am trying to connect to linksys wrt54g wireless router. I know I SHOULD KNOW this.... but originally connected thru Motorola SB5120 modem thru ethernet cable. What do I do next? Would appreciate any help to assist... many thanks.

Iphone 4 STOLEN today, trying to backup on 3G but don't know what I'm doing

My iphone 4 was stolen today while out at the pool and out of sight for literally 10 minutes. There are no iphone 4s anywhere at any of the att or apple stores here so am forced to order a new one and wait the 5-10 days. Luckily my dad still has his old 3G from when he upgraded to the 4. Question is, how do I get it to work? I restored his old phone and it gave me the option to choose my phone to backup on it, which I did. My photos and contacts are there and everything but it says no service...is there something else I am supposed to be doing?? Thank you SO much for any of your help, I am LOST without my phone!!

That's because that sim card has been deactivated. You need to go to an AT&T store & get an activated sim with your account info on it & put that in your phone.

Applescript Image Events appears to have memory leak (or I don't know what I am doing)

Using Image Events to create images and thumbnails for a website. The following code results in very large memory leaks in Image Event process. I have documented results of test runs in the comments.
The leak (or poor coding on my part) results in a total system halt if I attempt to process more than about 400 images at a time. Basically, I run out ot physical memory. I am running a new model 13" MBP with 8GM RAM. I have to manually stop Image Events to reclaim the memory (or reboot of course).
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

My 4 yr old is addicted to you tube on ipad 2 all of a sudden screen is black cant play anything.... Reset settings it worked for awhile then he did it again don't know how he is doing it anyone know...

If you want some advice from a parent who has a 5yr old, a 3yr old and a 1yr old using Ipads... Keep them off the Youtube stuff.. It has caused more problems for me than anything you would believe..
From issues with the Ipads... finding they have gone from Dora the Explorer vidoes to cartoons of characters called poopman... and the biggest problem.. I think the overdose of Ipad usage has ruined my kids from doing what regular kids should be doing.. On xmas they opened all their gifts, then just went back to the ipads.. I thought Candyland and Chutes and Ladders would be a big change.. Forget it.. They need rehab from Ipad..
