I don't know what just happened but I had my iPhone 5 plugged in to my computer and itunes popped up and all this syncing and stuff happened and now all of the stuff that was on my phone is gone and all my old stuff from my 4 is on there!!

Hi. I'm new to the iPhone, but I have had iPods for 5 years or so. I don't know if it works the same, but here's what I know from my iPod experience.
Each iPod is associated with a particular iTunes account. If you plug your device into your computer, it should see your iTunes account and do what ever you have set your iTunes to do when it sees your device (mine is set to sync automatically). If you plug into a different computer, it asks if you want to sync to that iTunes, and if you say yes, it will replace your content with what is in the other iTunes account.
Still, you say it was your own computer that did this to you, so I'm a bit stumped. It sounds like when you had the iPhone 4 you had different content than when you got your iPhone 5. What was the difference? Songs, contacts, photos, apps, etc.? Do you still have the content of your iPhone 5 on your computer? I have only managed my iPhone with my computer, with the exception of downloading a few apps directly, but those apps get placed on my computer when I sync, so I was under the impression that other things that go directly to your phone would also sync, but maybe that's wrong on my part.
You might want to open iTunes on your computer and go to Store>View My Account to make sure you have the correct log-in. Could it be that you made a new Apple ID with the new phone, and your computer is still logged in with your old one?
Please post back if you find a solution, or if you have any new info.

I don't know what I did, but Aperture no longer sees my HD as online, and I can't get my photo versions since the HD is not online. I see it in Finder and can see the original files and even copy them from Finder, but Aperture no longer recognizes the HD, and when I try to work with the picture, it doesn't let me because it says that the master is in a volume that's offline. Does someone know how to fix this?
Just to clarify:
Does Aperture not see the drive at all (that is, does Aperture also not see the drive in the import and export dialogue) or are only the Master Files disconnected?
If Aperture does not recognize the drive at all, check the permission settings of the drive in the "Get Info" panel and make sure you have read/write access, also the "Ignore ownership on this volumn" checkmark, this should be set.
If correcting the permissions does not help, make sure you have a backup, and then use "Disk Utility" to run a check and to repair the volumn, if necessary.
If Aperture can see the drive on import and export, but only does not see the master image files, then try to reconnect your masters.
Create a smart album or use a Search with the rule: "File status: offline", to select all images that need reconnecting to their masters.
Right click on the first image of the selection.
From the Pop-up window select "Locate referenced Files..."
Now the "Reconnect All" button should appear.

I have a big problem, I don't know what I touched but when I open up my iTunes I can't see all the icons. The only icons showing are "podcast, iTunes U and Downloads" so in other words I can't find the movies, music etc. Which means I can't buy/rent!

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Restart the Computer. This sometimes happens to me when I keep my Windows 7 on Sleep, and I try to sync my Ipod
Make sure you have the latest version of Itunes

I don't know what I did when I was checking my emails, but somehow I ended up with a large window that displays a list of the emails but not the content of the selected one like before, unless I open each one individually... I tried shutting down, hoping that the email app would restore through some default setting, but it came back the same way... It's probably something simple, but I watched all the tutorials I could find, and there isn't any mention of how to configure the email window.
I played around with the toolbar, trying to figure out how to restore the original window, but nothing worked. I can sort things in many ways that I couldn't care less about! I just want the old setting back that shows the window where the upper half is the latest emails and the bottom half is the opened email that is high- lighted. Help!Thank you, so much, Stedman! I feel like an idiot, but I never ran into this before! I'm new out here (relatively) and sometimes the simplest things seem to ambush me!! lol Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

I just got a warning that the Itunes that I just downloaded (10.6) could impare or destablize my system- I have had Itunes on my computer before but when I plugged in my Ipod it told me I needed to uninstall Itunes and reinstall itunes all together. Now I don't know what to do. I have a Sony computer that runs on Windows XP and then I have an Ipad, Iphone, and Ipod that I sync everything with What do I do? Do I continue installing? And, if I don't install how will I ever get all my "gadgets" to work properly without being able to download Itunes 10.6? Need Help!!!! I'm working on a movie in FCP and using cutaways and titles in many places in the timeline. While working on a movie 2 days ago, and I don't know what I did, all the cutaways and titles are now linked to the movie clips from below rather than above. When I "grab" them and drag them up to the top-side, as soon as I "release", they go back down. Along the menu bar, I've check the "view", "modify", "clips", etc., looking for any thing that might refer to appearance of the time line. What must I do to get the cutaways and titles back on top where they belong? The audio clips remained properly-linked to the time line and play properly. The cutaways and titles can be seen but do not play.
The cutaways and titles should be linked above the timeline clips, not below

My 27 in I-Mac had a voice narrative or podcast running the background when I open Safari. I can't identify this site to find where I might delete it; I don't even remember how I opened it. All I want to do is delete it.
I found the narrative through Mission Control and it was an article on E-Bay which I had opened. It is now closed/deleted.
