I'm wanting to upgrade my memory (I currently have 512 mb, WAY too slow for what I'm using it for. Apparently I have 2 sticks of 256 mb. I'm wanting to upgrade to 2gb, or possible even 4gb if possible. I don't know where I can buy some ram. Apparently there is a specific kind of ram that I need to get, and I don't know what it is, or where to get it. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I'm going to have the apple store install it for me. I may change my mind though, seeming as a lot of people are saying that it is easy.

Is there a reason that it is limited to 2GB?
The computer was only designed for 2GB and won't start up if more is installed.

Don't know what kind of hard drive to buy

i'm looking to expand my computer. i'm way past the point of having no more space left and i've found some pretty good deals on 300+ GB hard drives, but i don't know which ones will work in my computer.
the hard drive currently in my computer is a 180GB ultra ATA/100 (7200 rpm)
the problem is that, aside from rpm (revolutions per minute), i have no idea what any of this means. does the drive i buy have to be ATA/100? or can i buy ann ATA/300? what is the difference? does the ultra ATA have anything to do with it? because some of them just say ATA, or serial ATA.
i really don't want to spend the money, have it shipped, and get it open only to find out that i bought one that won't work with my machine.
i'm sure the answer to this question is pretty obvious, but no one ever explained it to me, and i'm just becoming more confused trying to find the answer myself through google.

is a bus a port for a hard drive? cause i have four of those. a guy at the mac genius bar explained that to me once when my tower was open. showed me where everything was and kind of explained what it did. i can put four hard drives in my computer. but does that mean that there is a certain one of the three remaining slots i have to put the new hard drive in? because i'm keeping the old one as well. no sense in wasting 180G of space.
and since you obviously have a pretty good handle on this whole thing, which of these drives looks better to you?

i know the bigger one is also slightly less expensive, but it has 8MB while the other one is ten dollars more and 20G less, but has 16MB
how important is that, really? and can my computer even make use of it since it's pretty old?

Well, there is a whole world of free or affordable software out there like GIMP, PDPaint and similar. Otherwise if you want to stick with Adobe stuff signing up for the CC photography program would be the most cost-efficient way...

What kind of Power Supply to buy for my Power Mac G5?

Hello!
After trying several things, and poking around several forums on the net I have become convinced that my Power Mac G5 needs a new Power Supply. My big question is how do I know what kind of Power Supply to get for it?
My computer is one of the last of the Power Mac G5's with Motorola chips; it has the dual 2.7 GHz processor core. I know the install will be tricky, but I feel confident I can do it.
The Apple store doesn't sell these Power Supplies any more, and our other local Apple repair store said they'd have to "match up the serial numbers" in order to find a new Power Supply... but they also wanted to charge me $200. (I'm a poor high school science teacher and would rather do it myself.)
Any words of wisdom/explanations on how to find the right type of Power Supply for my computer would be greatly appreciated!!!

China phones should be purchased there as they use unique carrier settings. Phones from other countries may not work properly.
Also, the iPhone warranty is not international and won't be valid outside the country where the phone was purchased.

Macs are very, VERY picky about the RAM specs they need.
That RAM is the wrong pin count and probably for PCs and not a Mac

I am going to make a project and I am not sure what kind of program would work for this document I want to make. The project I would like to make is of a type like a family tree, or a reverse sports playoff grid, where you start out with a few headers that branch out laterally and are linked with lines (just like a family tree graph) to many different headers. I want to have each of these headers as hyperlinks that you can click on to read more text/data/pictures about each header. Do you mean disk storage space or physical RAM? The latter is memory, not the former. If you mean the former:
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
If you mean RAM, then you have to add more to the computer which is not possible on Air models.

Toshiba, Hitachi and Maxtor have varied histories when it comes to letting bugs get out of the manufacturing process. That's why I mentioned Seagate. I don't know how good Fuji is.
