I don't know why the screen is at full brightness when it starts up?

I have noticed this issue after the installation of Mountain Lion to my concerns, and is a bit confusing to see that. It seems like I'm the only one that has that issue. My brightness is set at the lowest level, but the display at startup (when the Apple Logo is there) is at maximum brightness. But halfway through startup, before the user screen comes up (grey background); the displays returns to its set brightness. I'm seeking for a quick answer to determine if this is an issue. I'm running on Mountain Lion (10.8.1), and I never expected this. I did have at least 5 third-party applications downloaded from the Mac App Store, and I suppose that's the reason. I have a 13" MacBook Pro, with a native resolution of 1280x800.

In VB.NET timers are how you move stuff, but it doesn't look like they are ideal for moving stuff in flash at all (really slow). Timing for movement would be more often dealt with using something that operates at the frame rate of the file. The ENTER_FRAME event is usually selected for this purpose.

Its getting so bad that I don't know if the screen will go blank or freeze before I can send this

I don't seem to be able to use Mozilla for very long as it freezes or the screen goes white or it closes down and reverts to something I have closed down.

Try to remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

All of a sudden, today I can't access the internet via Safari on my Verizon iPhone 4. If I click on a link in an email or start Safari, the screen goes dark and freezes. What's up with this and what the fix?

it seems to work when you reset the port
try this only after you've made sure that any antiviral/firewall software isnt blocking iTunes and the internet connection settings are fine
1. go to windows, accessories and right click on command prompt and run as administrator
2. type in netsh winsock reset (i know sounds ridiculous but it works type WITH SPACES) and press enter
3. Message saying "winsock reset successful now reboot your computer"
4. restart your computer, and open iTunes..backup should run much smoother and faster
5.Click on iTunes store might be working now

When I open my browser, within a few seconds I get an "iGoogle" screen that comes up and I don't know why or how to exit it. This just started yesterday.

I click on Mozilla Firefox, which I've used for a several months. It opens as expected and then. within a few seconds, an "iGoogle" page opens. It has no apparent exit. I've tried to right click and Esc. I've tried a power cycle a few times and thhe same thing occurs. I don't recall doing anything to initiate the display of the page.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

I was syncing iPad 2 with my macbook and had no problems. Now it will NOT sync my iCal on my mac with my iPad. It only syncs with my gmail cal. I don't know why the change happened. Need to keep both calendars synced onto my iPad 2 .

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Why the screen of iMac turn purple when turn on ?

It happen recently, when I turn my iMac on from shutdown, the boot on screen just turn purple on the apple logo page, it won't happen when i just reboot the iMac. Anyone know about this issue?I dont want to carry this big thing walk into genius bar!

Broadband usage has doubled and I don't know why

Just received a warning message that I am about to exceed my 40gb limit. Normal monthly usage has been 18gb apparently and we don't know why the increase has occurred. We have no kids at home, we don't stream films or videos or play games, I've downloaded 1 music album this month and we've surfed the net as usual.
Can this usage be verified?
Any tips on checking whther someone else is using our broadband....is this possible?
Any tips on why this might be happening...it's puzzling.
Is there an indpependent (non BT) way of monitoring and measuring broadband usage?

In my experience the only way to sort this out is to hope that your post draws the attention of a forum moderator. Anyone on the phones will try and convince you that you are indeed downloading 20 albums a day, uploading 3000 pictures a week etc etc and "it all mounts up" and you would be far better on an Unlimited Package.
I had problems (in fact thinking about it, this time last year) where my usage had crept up and according to BT my son and I were using 90gb a month, despite no streaming, gaming etc. I am on a 40gb package like yourself so was incurring £50 charges each month. In the end it was resolved with BT agreeing it wasn't possible for us to be getting through that amount but as I wasn't using a BT router at the time it was impossible to prove that someone hadn't been piggybacking my wifi. (I'd changed passwords during the high readings to no avail anyway).
My personal advice would be to keep a daily eye on your broadband monitor, screenshot them if need be, if you have been out during the day or away for any great length of time also note the readings that appear for that day. I also check my BT homehub to make sure only the devices in my house are hooked in just in case.
As it happens I've also noticed a big jump in my readings this month, I have just a few GB to spare but in my opinion the readings are still high compared to what I was noting at the tail end of last year after I finally had SeanD look into the matter for me.
I do hope that the meters arent going up the creek yet again because I've sworn that if it should happen again I'm walking to a different company this time around.

In my Macbook Pro finder folder under All Images, there are duplicate files, but one is small and the other is full size. I wanted to clean up the files, but don't know why I have two of everything. Any Ideas?

Nearly all images are JPG with a few GIF and PNG sprinkled in.
I opened the inspector so I do get info when opening each image, but it a slow process.
It seems that one image is around 70k while its twin can be up to 4Mb which is what comes unedited from my camera. Sometimes there will be 3 or 4 identical images in finder, but when I open iPhoto to see what ‘s really in the file, I find only one image, and it’s full sized.
Are all these extra images, even if they are aliases, taking up space on my drive? And should I delete them? The info bar says I have over 10,000 images, which is rather a lot for what I do.
I am unable to add the file size on the view menu as it is grayed out. Don’t know why it’s gray, but having that info on the screen would save a lot of time and fiddling with each image.
I am trying to resize selected pix so I can upload them to e-bay, which requires less than 70k. I have looked at resizing programs but most are for PC platform and not Mac, so I am trying to resize in the finder window under tools. Tedious at best. Any suggestions will be appreciated
