I don't recieve any IP-Adress but I seem to be connected

I've just started on a new education and my school offers wireless internet access. I've got the password and i got connected. But i didn't recieve any IP-adress via the DHCP service, so my computer just makes one itself and it doesn,t work. My classmates computers works fine.
I've tried to create a new user, just to see if i had some bad preferences, but it didn't help. I've also tried to type in an IP manually, no luck. There are no help to get from the IT peoples at the school, a bunch of old caretakers who doens't understand anything but typing a password But they're nice guys anyway...
Here is some little ekstra info:
- The router is some kind of linux box
- They'are using WPA Personal, TKIP encryption
One more funny thing is that under my favorite networks list is OS X showing that it is WPA2 Personal encryption,but a nerd at school told me that the router also is compatible with that.

does you school required you to register your mac/physical address of your airport? if it does require you and you haven't registered yet, you need to register your airport's mac address to IT department. whatever password trick you used; it won't work if you haven't register yet..

Hi, I have a blackberry 8100, one day I did a reset of my blackberry removing the battery and then putting again and turning on my device, then, one person called my two times, but I didn't answer, and then like it's normal, it shows me an icon with the number 2 and an icon of a phone with an x, that means that I had two missed calls. I checked and were the lost calls that made that person, but the ERROR is that happened 15 days ago, and the icons stills here, for example if somebody calls me and I don't answer it shows me that I have 3 missed calls, and no 1 missed call like it will be normal. What can I Do? after that I have made resets of my blackberry but the number two stills there, please help...

If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
Try these options:
Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or pulling out and reinserting the battery)
View Messages > Saved Messages
View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)

I don't have any shared machines but one appears in my Finder

Finder says I have a shared machine called Thomson, yet I am not connected t any other Macs. I do have a La Cie machine for Time Machine, but other wise nothing else - so who is Thomson ?

Dont be so certain you're the only one on the network. One possibility could be that if you're on your WiFi network you might be getting an ip address in the range 192.168.1.x. If "Thomson" is connected securely to another wireless router nearby and is getting another ip address in the same range from his WiFi router, then its possible "Bonjour" wireless networking is finding his network signal and configuring your computer to be able to see his on the network.
Try turning off the airport card temporarily. If "Thomson" disappears then he's definitely nearby on some WiFi signal.

I can't backup my Ipad , but I can sincronizing , I don't have any previous backup but I have my applications in Itunes if I restore to manufactured settings I lose my Itunes applications?

I can sincronize my Ipad applications with Itunes but I don't can backup my IPAD , I have the error to disconnect the IPAD in the middle of backup , and
now it's imposible make a backup , the process hanghed many houres at the initial steps.

Did you have iCloud photo stream turned on for photos? If you did, then you can view your photos at iCloud.com. If you can verify that they are all there, you can do the factory reset. Once you turn on iCloud again after the reset, the photos won't be on the phone but they will still be in the photo stream which you can view on the device. You should be able to copy the photos down to the computer from iCloud. On an Apple Mac computer, iPhoto can view photo stream and you can download photos there too.
Personally, with syncing issues with iTunes, I prefer to use an app called PhotoSync (which is an app in the App Store, Mac App Store, and available from the developer's website for Windows PC's. This App (once turned on for both devices) lets you send photos back and forth within wifi.

Can I send a PDF with added comments via email? When the reciever of the email opens the PDF they don't recieve any of the comments.

I currently use the free adobe pdf reader. I am allowed to comment on PDF's but when I save the file and send the file with the comments the receiver of the email does not get anyy of the comments. Can anyone help?

External hard drive doesn't work on any other machine but my Mac since I connected it to the Mac

My external hard drive used to work on any machine. I watched movies on my tv, putted the movies on the hard drive using my pc. Since I connected it to my new MacBook Air, it doesn't connect to anything else anymore! I hope it's something in settings witch I accedentely clicked on (something with privacy so it can only connect to my Mac or something like that). Does anyone know how this happend/how to fix it?
PS. Maybe its important, I use it for Time Machine as well. Before I used that, it deleted my whole hard drive whitch really ****** me off. Now I got new stuff on it. Maybe my Mac is just claiming it to keep the hard disk for itself?

Just to be clear Mac's can read/write FAT32 but windows cannot use OS X Extended. So to use a drive on both systems it needs to be formatted FAT32
FAT32 does have limitations and possibly the best solution is to use NTFS, a more modern, robust filesystem. The drawback here is that OS X does not natively read NTFS so a third party kernel extension is needed.

Problem with registering Parser - Recompiled source code, don't see any changes

I had created a parser. I had register this parser with Ifs Manager. I had execute this following statement to see if been registered carefully:

All it's ok. I upload a file with a 'p01' extension with option 'parser' on my Internet Explorer. All work fine.. My parser work. But I need to do some changes in my code. I update my code, recompile my code. My class file have been updated. After my parser (.class) file have been updated I upload a new file with parse option. I don't see any change I do in my code. Why??? How I can update my parser to view change. I have only recompile my code an place my new class files on the same directory. I have try again (change on code, recompile, test) and I don't see any changes.
But I have test by change my classname. My classname before is Test1 and I have rename my classe by Test2. I have compiled this code and a file Test2.class have been generate. I have update my register parser with Ifs Manager to use the new classname Test2. I have chack with sql statement to see if my parser have been updated. I have been updated correctly. I have upload a new file with parse option and I see my change on my code..
Do you have some explanations about that??
How I can update my source code of a parser already registered to the parser take the change I do.

Ok, but they have another manner to resolve this problem. If I upload a file with parser option on Windows Nt explorer (Using SmbServer or WcpServer). How I can update the class file into the JVM? I need the restart this those server or just one? If just one which server I need to restart?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

iOS 5 handles texts differently than previous versions. Resetting the network connections helps, but that didn't seem to solve your problem, and neitherdid the simple reset.
Try deleting old messages from the messages app, then after clearing up a lot, just do a simple restart of your phone. If you want to be extra sure, try resetting your network connections again. I had this same problem. Your last option would be a complete restore of the phone, but I don't think we'll have to go that far.

I need to migrate CUCM 8.6.2 from 6.0.1 but don't have any DVD of old 6.0.1

Dear Experts,
I have new project which has been abandon for long and assigned to me recently.
I know what is the steps we need to work.
1. DRS from current CUCM version
2. Install same version of 6.0.1 to new Server
3. Backup from step1.
4. Upgrade to 8.6.2(it is not direct support, so I have to upgrade to middle version first)
But customer doesn't have current CUCM(6.0.1) version of DVD and I cannot find the version from Cisco site as well.
1. Can I export BAT from old version and import BAT to new version ? will it work ?
2. I don't have any bootable version either of old or new, so I need to make bootable after download from Cisco site.
I googled and some site said I can copy bootsector from bootable DVD and copy to new DVD, in this case even though it is not same version, for example, if I copy from 10.5 version and copy to 8.6.2, does it make bootable DVD ?
3. How can I remove all configuration on CUCM ? is it CLI command if I can ?

Try this method, and you should be able to create bootable DVDs from non-Bootable ones.
Secondly, you may raise a TAC SR and request them to release the Bootable media for 6.0.1
