  • Passcode changed from alpha to numeric now locked out

My daughter was changing the passcode on her itouch from an alpha code to numeric and when she went to type in the new code, it asked for the old code first, however...it already had switched to a numeric screen and her old passcode was an alpha code. Now she is locked out and can't access her itouch. Is there anyway to gain access to the itouch without restoring it and losing all the data? She hasn't backed it up the computer that has our itunes account on it has died. I hate to lose everything.

    No.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Please I don't remember the restriction passcode on my ipad 2 running ios 7.1. Please any help to reset it because I don't want to loose my documents?????

The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings.  Hope you have a backup.
Follow the instructions in  iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.
     Cheers, Tom

I don't remember the restrictions passcode, what do I do?
    I don't even remember that I entered a passcode..

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to put your iPad in Recovery Mode

Yesterday all formerly made entries, both old and in the future, disappeared, only recently made ones in pink/red are shown. any tips?
I did switch off and on, did a sync with itunes, etc, but no luck.

RIM doesn't push the upgrades -- your service provider does so, once they have certified and approved the operating system upgrade for their devices.
But, .973 does work on the 9520 in the manner you wish it would, I've used it myself on that model.

  • I just loaded ios7 on my I phone and am now locked out.  I've tried every password I can remember

Just loaded ios7 to my iphone4 Bd am now locked out.  No password I've tried works

Is this a passcode lockout or an Activation Lock?  Is it asking for a 4-digit passcode or asking you to enter a password for an Apple ID?

  • HT204088 How can backup my photos if I don't remember my iphone passcode

How can backup my photoswith my trusted computer if I don't remember my iphone passcode

The passcode is a security feature. Creating a workaround just allows for exploitation and the possibility to steal data. Let me ask you this, how long have you had the phone? How long have the photos been on the phone. iTunes and iCloud provide you several options for backing up your device, and the iCloud one does not require any input from you after the initial setup. You just connect it to power and Wi-Fi, such as going to bed at night, and lock the screen. The device will automatically backup ever day.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
Also, see iTunes- Restoring iOS software.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Applications don't remember full screen preference after quit

My iMac and MacBook Pro are running 10.9.4. I keep Mail, Safari, Messages, Reeder and iCal in full-screen mode at all times. When i close an application on my Mac that is in full screen mode, it remembers this and opens in full screen mode the next time I start it. This preference is constant even after rebooting my computer.
On my MacBook Pro, this isn't the case. If I close iCal and re-open it, it opens in windowed mode on my desktop despite being full-screen in its own space when I executed +Q (quit)
I've repaired permissions but have not performed a full reinstall of OS X yet. Every single application that I have chosen to be full screen starts in windowed mode on my MBP. On the iMac, this isn't an issue.
    Any ideas?

    HI David,
Unfortunately, with 3rd party software, it can be difficult to trouble shoot. Your best bet would be to check the Adobe forums and forums for other 3rd party software.
*"Is this normal now or is something not right with my system?"*
I don't think these issues stem from the Mac OS if that's any consolation.
