I don't remember what I disabled or how to fix it, but now calendar files don't open in my iCal.
I got a new laptop and when I went to download a calendar reminder (ics file), something came up on my screen with a file name I didn't know. I looked it up online and it said it was a real file but that I could delete it (or reject it). I did and now no calendar item downloads show on my iCal. When I open them, they simply disappear. I can type in the event, but I can't import an ics item. I'm running OS-X 10.9.2
Help, please?
Themes are installed in the System Library and describe the layout of the Photos. Reinstalling iPhoto should restore them. Do you still have the installer disks?

Your iCloud and @icloud.com login ID is an Apple ID. Go to http://appleid.apple.com and sign in with the ID you use to sign into iCloud (you can check this by going to http://www.icloud.com and signing in there).
Click 'Password & Security' in the sidebar and you will be able to change the password.
HOWEVER
Before you do this you must turn off 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' if you have it enabled on any of your devices, otherwise you will land yourself in difficulties. -
Updating ipod touch to os5.1 got an error message "cannot connect the ipod touch because the pairing record is missing" don't know what this means or how to fix but am stuck, only option is to answer ok and close the error box. Any ideas?

I have a 21" iMac that only boots as far as a folder icon with a question mark in it. Anyone know what this means and how to fix it?
It usually means your OS has corrupted files. You need to reinstall OS X.
If you are using Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.
If you are using Lion:
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

I've installed Flip4Mac WMV in Lion and when I try to listen to audio in some sites, it starts playing and after about 0.5 seconds it starts playing again. So, I have the same thing playing with a delay... What is happening and how to fix it? Is there any other way to play theese kinds of files without using Flip4Mac WMV?
Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Some commands are disabled. How to fix it?
Photoshop Elements 11 - after opening the program few commands under 'Edit' are disabled (such as 'Copy', 'Paste', etc) are disabled or greyed out. What can I do to enable the commands?
And you do have an active selection? If so, can you post a screenshot? You'll need to come to the forum's webpage to do that. It doesn't work via email.
