I don't seem to have the genius playlist option on my iPod touch 5th generation-what to I do???

I didn't jailbreak my ipod or download any pirated stuff. I actually only found out that my ipod should have the genius playlist option after reading a review on it. But when I checked under playlists in my music app, only the 'purchased' playlist is showing. What do I do to get the genius playlist?????

How do you get the speck gemshell case off an ipod touch 5th generation

I am trying to get the speck gemshell case that I purchased along with the "new" ipod touch 5th generation. It seems like a solid piece of clear see-through piece of plastic and it will withstand lots of drops with the added "lips"on the front of the ipod touch (one reason why i got this case. The other reason was to have my red ipod seen by all who wish to look at it.) but my problem with it is that it seems "too solid". The case is hard to put on and REALLY hard to take off. I have read on some websites that you can take a credit card as a way of taking the case off but I want to figure out how to take it off without ruining my ipod or bending the case?

Multiple pages in what???? It is pretty hard to decipher exactly what you are talking about - but I assume that you mean in Safari. Safari now uses tabs - no longer are thumbnail views available. You have to tap on the + sign in the tool bar to open another web page. That is the way it works and you cannot change it.
iCab Mobile offers thumbnails if you want an alternate browser that can provide that for you.

Hi im an exchange student in wanganui. I bought this ipod when I first came to NZ this year in the beginning of February and I lost it by today at around 7 o'clock in Wellington.

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I repurchased Garageband and I can't get passed the complete installation. I don't seem to have the "com.apple.garageband.plist" file that has been a common solution. Any suggestions?

The property list stores your preferences, but also the settings from the last run of the application. If that file is corrupted in some way, you might see third behaviour.
You must have this file, for it will be recreated automatically, if it is missing, or you have a permissions problem with your user library.
Perhaps you did look in he wrong place.
in MacOS 10.7. or later the User Library is hidden. To find the Preferences Files use the Finder's "Go" menu:
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Click onto you Desktop to bring the Finder forward.
In the Finder Menu press "Go" and hold down the "option/alt" key, until your user library appears in the drop-down menu
Select "Library" and in the Finder window that opens navigate to the "Prederences" folder; move com.apple.garageband.plist to the Desktop.
Log off and on again (don't skip that step!). Retry GarageBand and see if it GarageBand is now downloading the missing content properly.
If that does not fix the problem, post back and explain in more detail what the download problem is.
Why did you "repurchase" GarageBand? If you already owned GarageBand '11, it should be unnecessary.

I don't seem to have the option to send and recieve SMS. There are no options under "Settings"/ Messaging. I used to be able to about a month ago or so but it has disappeared...

Sorry, still no go. I've even checked to make sure "pop ups" aren't blocked on either device. I'm signed into iCloud, have the same wifi connection on both, Bluetooth is on, on both....but no pop up message on the iPad received yet...

If you are referring to your Apple ID password, call Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and ask to speak to the Account Security Team. They will be able to assist you with resetting your security questions and also the password.

If you want to see the current backup or document names stored on iCloud go to Settings > iCloud > Manage Storage.
If you want to view http://icloud.com on your iPad the same way as shown on a Mac use an iPad browser that allows changing its browser ID like the iCab browser.

I have an iPod Touch 5th generation and all of a sudden it started freezing on the lock screen.

I have an iPod Touch 5th generation that I've had since Christmas 2012 and suddenly today (June 27) when I tried opening one of my apps it froze and then shut the app down. At first I thought it was the app, but then it started happening to Safari and my Photos app. By time I had gotten to work when I slid the bar over to unlock it, it froze and wouldn't do anything. I had tried turning it off, holding the lock button down and sliding the power off slide, but the screen went black instead of turning off. Every few minutes it would suddenly light back up on the lock screen but wouldn't do anything after I slid the thing to unlock it. Sometimes it would seem to turn itself back on (even though I wasn't aware it had turned off, the apple logo never showed up) from black to the loading page (black screen with little circle thing lighting up to show it's loading) to the lock screen which wouldn't do anything. The time is constantly on track and the wifi connectivity icon on the top bar even shows when there's wifi, I just can't do anything with it. I could double tap the Home button and the music bar would show up and the volume level would change through me touching the screen and through the volume buttons on the side, but it wouldn't play anything. I also can hold the Home button and Siri shows up but then I can't actually speak anything to it.
I've managed to connect it to my computer and back it up to iCloud and on my computer and am trying to restore it right now, but I would like to know what's wrong with it. I've had it for about 7 months and have never had any issues with it like this before.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go.
