I don't understand why my sim card has a new phone number

I was with T-Mobile on a sim-only monthly contract. This was due to expire, and naturally my new contract is with EE due to the merge. I was told, after agreeing on a new sim-only contract, that the sim card that would be sent to me would have my usual phone number on it, saving the hassle of informing everyone of a new number. However, I just put it in my phone and it has a totally new number associated with it. Is this a mistake that I need to phone EE to correct, or do I just need to wait a few days?

Hi. I have also just upgraded from Orange to an EE phone/plan today. My new SIM also has a new number associated with it at the moment. How long does it usually take for my regular number to move across to the new SIM. I'm currently using both phones, which is no problem. Was just wondering when my regular number will be active on my new phone?

    Are you trying to get an upgrade before you're actually eligible? If that is the case, it doesn't matter if you've been a customer for 6 years or 6 days...if you're not eligible then you're not eligible. Some of your possible options are to pay full retail, do an early edge up (if you are eligible for that option), or buying a phone from some other source to use.
    If your situation is something different then it might help to share that. The options may still be the same but it helps to know what exactly the issue is.

  • IPhone 4S fell on some water, was working but now won't work. I got a replacement coming. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone if it wasn't damaged? Will I get my pictures and contacts and messages back if it wasn't damaged?

    My iPhone 4S accidentally fell into a very shallow bit of water. The phone was wet, but worked afterwards for a short bit. Now it's not working, so I called and got a replacement phone coming. Same exact phone. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone without harming anything? I don't know if the sim card got messed up or not, but I had a lot of pictures and messages and my contacts on my phone, and I assume these were on the sim card or am I wrong? I just wan to know if I can use the old sim card if it's still working in the new phone that is coming, as long as there was no damage to it? Thanks

    I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
    Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.

  • Transfering SIM Card data to new phone?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if my SIM card holds all my addressbook data? I have just purchased a 6085 and want to transfer the data from my 6061 to my new phone. Will it all be in my SIM card or do I have to re-enter the contents of my old phone data manually to my new one?
    Thanks!

    The 6061 doesn't appear to have any connectivity with the outside. No connection to a computer, no bluetooth etc.
    The only way you have of saving yourself any time is to copy your contacts to the SIM card if they're not already there. You can find the commands to do all of this in the "Contacts" menu.
    This also assumes that there's enough room on the SIM for all of your numbers. Most SIMs are limited to 200 or 250 numbers, and if you have contacts with multiple numbers (home, mobile, work etc.) they will use up as many slots as there are numbers for those contacts.
    Once everything is copied to your SIM, you can insert that SIM into the new phone and most of your data will be accessible. I say "most" because details other than straightforward phone numbers will not have been transferred since the mechanisms on a SIM cannot store them.

  • Can i activate my twin sim card in a new iphone 4s while being in the States?

    Hi all! I live in Cyprus and I'm travelling to the States next week. I'm planning to buy the iphone 4s from an apple store (factory unclocked) and I would like to know if I can activate the twin sim card I purchased from my carrier here in Cyprus. The carrier is vodaphone and the reason I bought a twin sim card is that I already have another mobile device which uses a sim card. The people at the carrier's office told me that in order to activate the seond sim card (or twin card, both sim cards use the same phone number) I need to type #103# to swtich between the devices. If I was going to do this in Cyprus, it will work, but what about doing this thing while being in the States? Can I put the new sim card in the new iphone 4s that I'm going to buy, type #103# and then the sim card will be activated? Or should I need to do somethine else?
    In case I cannot do this or if there is an alternative plan (e.g., activate the sim card using a friend's iphone 4s while I'm in Cyprus?), I would be glad to hear it.
    Thanks in advance for your help!!!

    In my OPINION, you will not be able to activate your SIM issued from Cyprus while in U.S.A. The simple logic is, your "future SIM" will be on roaming in U.S.A. and in order to search for the signals for roaming partner carrier and get registered (provided that there is a roaming partner of vodaphone Cyprus in U.S.A.) it needs to be activated first. So, you need to activate your SIM in Cyprus to be able to use it with a compatible roaming partner in U.S.A.

    Last time i usually pay the purchasing item using my debit visa card.
    after that i no more use the debit visa card.
    i'm using mastercard.
    now each time i want to purchase anything, i cannot pay using the mastercard.

    i don't understand why.

    Does it have to be an applet?
    If you want the same behaviour as in the code with traffic lights, change
    class MortgageApplet extends JApplet implements ActionListener {
    to
    class MortgageApplet extends JFrame implements ActionListener {
    and change
    public void init() {
    to

    I am new to Final Cut Express and don't understand why I am unable to drag transitions into Canvas? Something wrong in my setup? It's not the overlays they are "on" so can anyone advise me please, by the way the "L" doesn't appear in the bottom left hand corner either? and by the way how can I get rid of that irritating Blue badge saying "AutoFill your contact details" all mine are in "address book" already!

    You can't drag a transition into the canvas. If you're dragginmg a transition from the effects tab you drag it between the edit point of two clips in the timeline.
    Make sure show edit overlays is turned on in the Canvas view popup.

  • Why is this an error???  I don't understand why it is... Help Please

    Hi,
    Ok, I'll preface this by saying there's a lotta code pasted in here but it really quite an easy question, I just need to post all the code so you understand where what came from.
    Now.............the question I'm trying to do is to create an applet that has 2 buttons -- each button when clicked opens an application (one is a simple calculator, the other a Mortgage calculation app). When you click one of the buttons (calc or mortgage), that app opens infront of the 2 button menu so its in "focus". The button on the 2 button menu then switches to a "hide app X" button (ie: "Mortgage", changes to "Hide Mortgage"). Thus if you click the hide button, the app that was opened is hidden, and then that "hide" button switches back to the original "app X" button. Pretty simple.
    Now, I have from my text book an example that does exactly this, with the simple calculator already in it, and with another app (a traffic light thing) where the Mortgage should be in my final product. I also already have the Mortgage applet I need to insert from another book example in place of that Traffic Light portion.
    Now, common sense would dictate that I should be able to just copy my code for the Mortgage applet into the example that has the 2 button menu structure, and overwrite the code I want to get rid of (the traffic light) with the mortgage code & rename the menu buttons. Right?? A simple switch of one thing for another... but therein lies my problem.
    I copied all the Mortgage code in correctly over the traffic lights, switched the button names, tried to compile it but I get one error....
    Exercise12_17.java:52: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol  : method pack ()
    location: class MortgageApplet
            mortgageAppletFrame.pack();I don't understand why..... mortgageAppletFrame.pack(); was a simple rewrite from lightsFrame.pack(); like every other line...... it should work. I've gone over it for 2 days......... Anyone know why it comes up as an error???
    Below, in order going down is (1)my code with the 1 error I can't solve, (2)the original menu example I tried to edit, and (3)the Mortgage app code...........
    Does anyone know what my error is?? Help or a hint would be greatly appreciated........ Thanks.

    and change

    From what I understand RAW photos are supposed to open in raw in photoshop CC. I don't understand why my RAW photos don't open in RAW in photoshop CC or Lightroom 5

    Has the behavior changed compared to how it used to open ? If so, do you refer to the Camera RAW window similar to this: http://screenshots.en.sftcdn.net/en/scrn/78000/78026/adobe-camera-raw-22.jpg
    What is the file extension of your photos ?
    In Lightroom, there is no special way of opening a RAW file vs. JPEG. They all open the same. What is the Lightroom behavior ? Can you post a screenshot ?
