I don't want all Apple software

Hi, the other day I logged on and an Apple software update came up as it was supposed to. However, the update was for Safari, which I don't want. How do I tell the software to never ask me if I want Safari again?

Was that in the updates pane or the new software pane, bob?

I have 3 Apple devices - iMac, iPhone, and iPad.  I am planning to move to iCloud from MobileMe.  In iTunes, I just choose to sync whatever files I want my iPhone and iPad to have since they don't have sufficient disk space as my iMac.

Calendars, emails, contacts, are fine since files are small.  What I'm afraid of are the apps and photos.
    Any reply will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

With the exception of photo stream, iCloud doesn't sync your apps or photos between devices. You will continue to sync this content via iTunes in the same way as you do now.
Photo stream allows you to sync your most recent photos between all devices, you have the option to use photostream or not.

Experiencing trouble syncing with the 10.3 version of iTunes on my Windows Vista machine. Have uninstalled all Apple software twice, reinstalled and continue to get an error 7 message in connection with the Photo Processor. Any other ideas to try?

    Hi,
got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes.

  • All Apple software is responding strangely - how do I fix this?

All apple software on my macbook has started to respond strangely. Logic Pro, Finder, Photobooth, Safari etc. They all keep freezing, or they stop responding, or they open but don't work properly. For example, safari keeps going blank (i.e. the search bars go blank, all bookmarks disappear). Photobooth just straight up didn't appear on screen until about the 5th relaunch. Logic keeps making everything go blank too, and garageband won't even open. How do I fix this problem?
Is it a virus, or do I have some kind of strange software issue?
I have software updated, and tried rebooting but still the problem persists.

  • I accidentally hit "download all" in iTunes. I don't want all that music on my phone. How do I stop it?

Please help. Don't want all these songs on my iPhone. Accidentally hit "download all" on iTunes. How do I stop it!!??

Once it finishes, you can go back into iTunes and unselect sync music, resync the phone and it will remove the music. You can then select certain tracks or playlists if you want. You also have the choice to manually manage music. See the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

    Hello chathamcpa,
I found an article with steps you can take when you are getting Error 7 when opening iTunes.  I recommend following the steps in this article:

  • TS1567 If i uninstall AMDS, iTunes and all Apple softwares, will all the music i currently have in itunes delete.., or will it download itself back into the new itunes?

If i uninstall AMDS, iTunes and all Apple softwares, will all the music i currently have in iTunes delete.., or will it download itself back into the new iTunes?

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall does not touch your content. That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a backup in case of disasters.

  • All Apple Software removal

I've been trying to delete all the APPLE SUPPORT SOFTWARE Bonjour,Support Mobile, etc.from the ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS and it's not working.
The message is " The feature i'm trying to use is on a NETWORK RESOURCE that is unavailable"  Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi in the box below. Use SOURCE  C\DOCUME~1PATSIL~1\LOCALS~1Temp\1. How can i find & remove so that i can START AFRESH and download ITUNES Fully?

Well, After three attempts to install the newest version and having the same issues each time....
No access to store, AppleMobile Service takes up 99 percet of CPU usage, so nothing else starts, and finally not one song, video, or app imported,.....  I decided to give it a try with the previous version after a complete uninstall of all Apple software and the deletion of any iTune files which were left behind in other folders and doc/settings folders.
Back up and running with version 10.4.1.10
Had to select and import my iTunes Music and Video folders, then go to the iTunes store to re-download all purchased APPS but at least I have access and an operational program.
What a nightmare.  Maybe Apple should compensate us for the insane amount of frustration and man hours involved for what I would consider malicious software upgrade they have provided over the last three updates.

  • TS5179 I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update (PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it. #out of space...??)

I've been bitten by the "Missing MSVCR.dll file" problem when downloading the latest iTunes update, 11.4.62 (on a PC w/ Win-7 & Outlook-2007#. 'Have followed Apple's instructions of un-installing all Apple software, and re-installing it (Ugh).  First result Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there.  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I have two iCloud contact files shown in outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.
Plus an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  This is NOT fun at 72-yrs old...!!
So, how do I make sure I haven't lost anythying from Outlook?   Russ-AZ

Interesting response, Kappy  -  Back to original post: "First result: Outlook couldn't find my 1,385 item contact file in iCloud, although the outlook distribution lists were there (therefore, initially I had lost my contact file from Outlook).  Second result, upon installing iCloud again, I now have two iCloud contact files shown in Outlook - "iCloud" & iCloud, within iCloud".  W/ 1,332 & 1,385 contacts respectively.

You can safely assume that I have tried using it!   So, to make things a little clearer:
         1)  I now have two iCloud "contacts files", w/ a different total count. What's the difference?  Why the different toatl count?
         2)  Since re-installing the Apple software (part of the MSVCR" recovery instructions) "couldn't possible affected Outlook", why am I getting an iCloud installation error message saying iCloud moved 6,835 files to a "deleted items folder" somewhere.  What's in those files? And where are they?
Probably more important questions get down to:
         3)  Why is a basic Apple product upgrade "screwing-up Outlook"?  This iTunes upgrade, failing to install properly forced Outlook 2007 into a 2-min start-up cycle.  Which was fixed with this "Goat-Rpdeo" of re-installing MSVCR80.dll.
         4)  And under the latest release of iOS-7.0.4 on our iPhones, why is Apple now forcing us to use the iCloud to back-up our contacts, calendars & tasks, vs. allowing these files to be backed-up directly on our PC's via the USB cable?
Thanks again for your interest and comments.  - Russ-AZ

  • HT4927 Are there ways to only upload certain photos from my iphoto backup? It is really big and I don't want all the photos on my new computer.

Are there ways to only upload certain photos from my iphoto backup? It is really big and I don't want all the photos on my new computer.

There is a way to find and recover individual photos from a Time Machine backup.
1 - dowload and launch  Find Any File.
2 - select the Time Machine hard drive in FAF's Find Items menu.
3 - enter the full file name of the photo you want to recover into FAF and use the Find button.
NOTE: it will take a while for FAF to retrieve and display the results of the search due to the nature of how TM makes its backups. 30 seconds or so is normal.
4 - select the file in the Masters folder and use the Space bar to verify it's the one you want with Quickview.
5 - drag the file from the FAF window to your Desktop.
6 - repeat for each photo you need to restore.

  • Ten times deleting all apple software doesn't help getting itunes 11.1.4 to install properly

    Hi,
Following this thread for a day now and done (ten times) everything that was told, but unfortunately haven't been able to install iTunes. Still getting a error message when (re)starting windows 7. Should I wait until a solution comes or should I keep on trying deleteing-installing-deleting-installing?
Thanks for all your efforts, but it hasn't helped me so far.

Same thing here.  I finally got wifi sync working again by downgrading to iTunes 11.x.2 .
The trick is to make sure you remove all components of apple first.
Apple software updater, App support, Mobile device support and bonjour.
    Then reinstall 11.x...2 .
    On another note:
Not to further antagonize the issue but I wish whoever makes itunes over there sees this and gives users a easier way to go back to iTunes 10.7 or fixes these wifi sync issues for good and brings back some of the nice features like coverflow from iTunes 10.

Connect your iPod to your computer.  iTunes launches.  Under devices, click your iPod.  Verify the "Backup to this computer" is checked.  Synch your iPod.  After the synch is finished, click "Check for update."  Download and install the update.  Synch your iPod.  All your stuff is there, right where you left it...
