The only way to do this at this time is to sign the App Store app out of your iTunes Store account (bottom of the Features, Top Charts, or Categories pages).

those apps will either have file transfer protocols that work within iTunes. Some also have the ability to upload and download using services like sugar sync or dropbox. Docs to Go has a desktop program that you can use to sync documents over wifi outside of iTunes.
Another way to get documents onto your ipad is to mail them to yourself, open that mail, 'send' the document to your app and then view it that way.

If you sync the iPod with the laptop it works both ways e.g. it will copy stuff from your iPod to your laptop as well as vice versa.
Alternatively you can log into iTunes on your laptop with the Apple ID you used to purchase the music with and you will be able to download it for free in store > purchased > download previous purchases.
2nd method only works with music bought from iTunes, not from CDs etc, unless you are using iTunes Match.

You can call customer service and have them put a text message block on your line. You can also do it yourself through the account owner's My Verizon account online and add the text block feature to your line.

Well, if both your iPad and iPhone have ios 7 you could AirDrop the contacts. This may seem time consuming if have a lot of contacts as you have to select all the ones you want to transfer. But it is useful if you want transfer only specific contacts and not the whole contact list. You can look at the material stored and see what you don't need and delete. But a better way is to get an external hard drive and move large quantities of material to the external storage. That will free up internal storage capacity.

I have FF, Win 7 Ultra, 32-bit, HP a465c. I bookmarked a pronouncing dictionary that won't pronounce! Yikes! When I try to get an unusual word pronounced, I am prompted to download Apple's plug-in. I have no Apple products and don't want any. When I try to download Quick Time, it always fails. Then I'm prompted to manually install it. I don't know how to do this. What does FF have that will pronounce desired words readily? Methinks that that would be a commonplace, built-in FF feature.

I was using Merriam-Webster's Pronouncing Unabridged Dictionary, which has a built-in pronouncing function. I just tried it now, only to find that I NOW would have to PAY to gain full access to the site! I can't afford that, so I shall remove the dictionary forthwith.

Change the dropdown labeled "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" or "Show a blank page" if you like.

I have looked around here. And I've actually in person helped a number of people clear a jailbreak from an iPhone and they work fine. The OPs biggest hurdle is likely to be the process of obtaining an unlock from the cell provider.
The mistake many people make is waiting to Restore until the unlock is approved. They should Restore prior to even getting the unlock approval then do it again after they receive it.
As most people know who have been here awhile we see the ones who have problems, not the ones who have successfully done the process.
If you go by ASC noone would ever buy an iDevice.
