My wife has 450 texts each month but I DON'T want any texts because they charge me .25 per incoming or outgoing. How can I turn off texts on JUST MY PHONE and not hers when they are on the same account?

You can call customer service and have them put a text message block on your line. You can also do it yourself through the account owner's My Verizon account online and add the text block feature to your line.

Well, if both your iPad and iPhone have ios 7 you could AirDrop the contacts. This may seem time consuming if have a lot of contacts as you have to select all the ones you want to transfer. But it is useful if you want transfer only specific contacts and not the whole contact list. Oh, and another thing: your iPad has to be a 4th generation or higher and your iPhone has to be 5th generation or higher.

I have FF, Win 7 Ultra, 32-bit, HP a465c. I bookmarked a pronouncing dictionary that won't pronounce! Yikes! When I try to get an unusual word pronounced, I am prompted to download Apple's plug-in. I have no Apple products and don't want any. When I try to download Quick Time, it always fails. Then I'm prompted to manually install it. I don't know how to do this. What does FF have that will pronounce desired words readily? Methinks that that would be a commonplace, built-in FF feature.

I was using Merriam-Webster's Pronouncing Unabridged Dictionary, which has a built-in pronouncing function. I just tried it now, only to find that I NOW would have to PAY to gain full access to the site! I can't afford that, so I shall remove the dictionary forthwith.
That said, does FF have a built-in pronouncing function, with or without definition? If not, how do I get this on my computer?

Document files need to be associated with an app that will read it. I use documents to go, but there are others out there, paid and free.
those apps will either have file transfer protocols that work within iTunes. Some also have the ability to upload and download using services like sugar sync or dropbox. Docs to Go has a desktop program that you can use to sync documents over wifi outside of iTunes.
Another way to get documents onto your ipad is to mail them to yourself, open that mail, 'send' the document to your app and then view it that way.

When opening Firefox version 3.6.8 there are always many tabs. Many are sites I don't go to. I don't want any tabs when I first open Firefox. I want tabs only when I ask for a new tab and only for that session.

Just change the option so Firefox shows your homepage when you open it.
Tools -> Options -> General
Change the dropdown labeled "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" or "Show a blank page" if you like.

I have looked around here. And I've actually in person helped a number of people clear a jailbreak from an iPhone and they work fine. The OPs biggest hurdle is likely to be the process of obtaining an unlock from the cell provider.
The mistake many people make is waiting to Restore until the unlock is approved. They should Restore prior to even getting the unlock approval then do it again after they receive it.
As most people know who have been here awhile we see the ones who have problems, not the ones who have successfully done the process.

HT4623 I recently switched from an original ipad to the ipad air. Now when people text me, the messages go to my cell phone and to the new ipad. I don't want my text messages going to both devices. How can I change this?

Is there a way to stop receiving my text messages on both of my devices? I have an ipad air and an iphone. People text my phone number and it goes to my phone and the ipad, but this only started happening when I upgraded from the original ipad to the ipad air.

If you do not want the text messages to go to the iPad (that is what I assume from your post) go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>uncheck your iPhone number in there. Do this on the iPad.
You can always just turn messages off as well in Settings>Messages>iMessage>Off.

I don't want an upgrade to your software, but my pc keeps bugging me to do so. Same with google.com. I try to get out of the constant, annoying messages to sign up for this, sign up for that with no way to simply say NO THANKS! How can I go back to the old way. If I can't, simply tell me. I will open a new email account, close the old one and make sure I never put Firefox on the new account.

Are you meaning Firefox? (Firefox is in no way tied or associated with your Email address, so if this is an email issue, you'll have to contact whomever handles your email). Can you give a bit more detail as to your exact problem?
If you are meaning the upgrade to Firefox 12, this is a free update to old firefox software that introduces new features and security fixes. All older versions of Firefox are no longer supported, so you need to update to Firefox 12 in order to stay secure on the web. Not updating can leave you and your computer vulnerable to loss of information, hacks, viruses, etc.

Hide the "Try" list. I don't want any CC apps.

I don't have any CC apps only CS6 apps.
On a Mac you can install this Adobe utility that puts a little icon in the upper right at the Finder for Creative Cloud that when you click on it once you get a handy pull down that lets you see which apps need to be upgraded to a newer version. But at the top of this list is all the CC apps screaming "Try". Is there a way to hide that list of CC apps?
I will never buy any CC apps because I just use the Adobe apps at home for fun. Paying a monthly fee is too impractical for that.

I didn't say and was never asked If I wanted Mountain Lion. I can no longer 'Empty Cache' at the end of a session online and when I do a search now (and this has all changed overnight) the query is typed into what used to be the address bar and when the search results appear, after reading the first result and I want to read the second or fifth or Any of the other results of the query I am forced to resubmit the search in the address bar because the 'Page Back' button has been removed and the Little Red Dot closes the Search Results Page altogether.
What else am I in for with Mountain Lion? I already know that I do NOT want anything to do with iCloud. I am willing to bet a lot of money that a pharmaceutical company one day is going to be holding me for ransome with a new drug that was created out of the symptoms of a once - upon - a - time naturally occuring symptom of aging. Get a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), make a bootable backup/clone before updating/upgrading, using something like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original. The only way to do this at this time is to sign the App Store app out of your iTunes Store account (bottom of the Features, Top Charts, or Categories pages).
