I don't want Firefox to "remember" the folders I've saved in from websites before. How do I return Firefox to its old image saving habits?

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will "remember" and, the next time I save an image, open a random folder that I saved an image in last time I was on that site, and choose to save it there. This wouldn't be a problem if, 1) it wasn't a random folder out of the several I save into, and 2), if I have to cancel out of an image for any reason, the next time I go to save (seconds later, without refreshing/leaving a page), it will have chosen another random folder for me to save in and I'm misplacing my files.
I'd like to return Firefox to the previous image saving habits, where I have to choose the folder each time, and it doesn't "remember" anything that I've done, as it is only causing headaches.

I have been frustrated by the same aggravating Firefox 8 "improvement".
I have several hard drives, several partitions on each hard drive, hundreds of folders on in each partition, and hundreds of subfolders below them. When I am researching something, I download whole Web pages, PDFs, JPEGs, FLVs, and many other files from all over the Web. It is totally frustrating to be taken to different drives all over my computer each time I want to download a new file to the same folder I jut downloaded to. I have to drill up and down drives and folders to get back to where I was.
In previous versions of Firefox, Save As opened in the last folder I saved to, and all I had to do was create a file name and hit Save. In Firefox 8 I am taken to some totally unrelated subfolder on some totally unrelated drive. The folder in which I last downloaded a file from Wikipedia, Fox News, BBC , Flicker, or any other URL usually has absolutely nothing to do with what I am presently researching.
Why would anyone want to make the default download be the desktop? Total clutter and confusion. All I want Firefox to do when I hit the Save As button is to open the same folder I last downloaded '''''anything''''' to irregardless of the URL.
Is there some way via modifying the about:config file that I can change this behavior of Firefox 8?

This is confusing? You said don't launch mail app or turn off the account, but gave instructions to I guess turn it off. Anyway I'm simply wanting to block crud mail in the junk mail such as dating stuff and solicitation. I don't know how these low life's get email addresses but I hate it. I didn't used to get this stuff until about 6 months ago. I have iPhone 5 ios7 update. You would think that since ios7 now can block calls they would have done something for email too.
Any help on this?

I just upgraded to Firefox 8 from 3.6 and now my websites don't stay logged in upon closing, how can I change that?

HT4623 I recently switched from an original ipad to the ipad air. Now when people text me, the messages go to my cell phone and to the new ipad. I don't want my text messages going to both devices. How can I change this?

Is there a way to stop receiving my text messages on both of my devices? I have an ipad air and an iphone. People text my phone number and it goes to my phone and the ipad, but this only started happening when I upgraded from the original ipad to the ipad air.

If you do not want the text messages to go to the iPad (that is what I assume from your post) go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>uncheck your iPhone number in there. Do this on the iPad.
You can always just turn messages off as well in Settings>Messages>iMessage>Off.

I don't want see my tasks in the Calendar Tab. How can I do that?

I work with long (a week or more) and concurrent tasks. The result is a Calendar Tab with many bars in each day, difficulting the view of events (meetings and others). How can I change the task properties to not show in the calendar tab?

This is not something you can change per task or per calendar. Either you get all tasks in view or none. Look for options in main menu -> View -> Calendar -> Current View.

I want the English version of Photoshop instead of Dutch, How can I change that?

I just got the deal for 12,99 a month for photoshop and lightroom. With downloading I didn't see an option to choose a laguage and I got the dutch version. As I am dutch this is logical, but i would like the english vesion. How can I change that? Thanks beforehand.

For Lightroom 5 you can adjust the language within the Preferences within Photoshop Lightroom.

Someone was playing on my computer and I don't see the "Do you want Firefox to Remember" bar. How can I get it back so I don't have to remember sign-in information?

after the above, clear cookies and cache also, go from 3-bar menu button > History > Clear Recent History… > Time range to clear > everything, and in Details check [v] cookies and cache, and then > click the Clear Now button. Exit firefox and restart it.

I want firefox to remember my email password.

I am tired of always having to type my user name and password every time I want to get on Internet emails. I want Firefox to remember. How do I do this? Also I have trouble on Saturdays with my computer freezing or site just closes.

You can disable the Firefox Password Manager and use form autocomplete to remember the name.

Every time I restart my computer Firefox launches. How do I disable this? I don't want Firefox to launch ever time my computer reboots. Firefox is not my default browser. Safari is.
