I don't want the sidebar to automatically open. How do I stop it?

Since I updated Firefox I now get a sidebar on the left side of the screen. I don't like it and would prefer for it not so show. I prefer to see my entire screen instead of something I didn't request.

What is in the sidebar?

Attach it to the message. An attachment is an attachment -- if it is displayed or not by the recipient's e-mail client is not under your control.
You can zip it (compress it) before sending it; if it's text, you should zip it anyway; if it's JPEG, zipping will not reduce the size (in fact, it's even possible it may increase it slightly), but most e-mail clients do not display what's inside a zip archive.

You can't disable the Organizer but if you don't check the box, you don't have to do it next time, this choice is 'sticky'. If it's not for you, I suggest that you delete the editor preferences (menu Edit/preferences, general in recent PSE versions), you have a button to click on.

Look in System Preferences - Users & Groups - Highlight your user Account - Login Items - and then if you see Excel in the list then select it and click the - symbol in the box to remove it. Log out of your account and login to test.

When downloading a file is completed, it is automatically opened, how can I stop this behaviour?.

Every time I download a file (documents, audio, etc) Firefox for android automatically opens the file when the downlod is completed. Okay, so I'm not crazy! The number that iCloud wants to send my confirmation code to Ann's in two digits that are not my telephone number! Nor are they the telephone number of my partner! Nor are they the number of my home phone! No more other than number of my work phone! There is no way this is my telephone number they want to send the confirmation number two! And there's no way it's a number that I would've ever given them because it doesn't ended anything that is a telephone number that I own. MESSED UP.

Last version did the same thing. Open the browser and add-on bar comes on. Close add-on bar and open the browser again and the add-on bar comes on again. Don't want the add-on bar. How to get rid of it? Don't refer me to faq's, done all of that.

Add-on bar doesn't stay off when you turn it off. The browser doesn't remember when I turn it off. Removing the icons doesn't help, they aren't all removable

You must have the automatic download feature of iCloud on the iPod. To turn this off, on the iPod you don't want the apps to automaticly download on, go to Settings-->Store. Under automatic downloads slide the sliders off for the things you don't want to auto download.

I do ignore the message about the plugins. But I've started to get a little bit annoyed that I have to move up and press the little x every time I navigate to a site that needs something like flash. It eats up the size of about two text rows... it feels so unnecessary that it's there. If I want flash I will install it... The browser doesn't have to inform me about it every time.
I really hoped for a better answer. Hopefully the firefox crew will add an option to not show that kind of messages in the future.

I want the old download display back! Library font is too small, do NOT want the sidebar!

Just upgraded to 20.0 on XP SP3 - not interested in 'library' display; font is too small to read, do not need/want the sidebar, and need/want the % complete to show as it did in the old download display.
Also, how do I turn off the distracting and stupid fade-in/fade-out large green arrow on download completion - again not something I'm interested or have any use for.

The green arrow, like other toolbar controls, can be hidden by using the Customize feature. Kick that off by doing either of these:
* right-click a blank area of the Tab bar > Customize
* View menu > Toolbars > Customize
Drag the unwanted arrow into the dialog with the other unused buttons, the click Done.
Does that fix it?

I don't want the updates...If they take away the ease of using my computer! I am the original poster, and I got rid of CA Security Suite & and loaded the Avast! which has some great features even on the freeware. No more crashes or freezing & yes I think there is a problem with CA & Firefox, but am not sure what it is. CA was a big time hog. This is a tedious solution, which is stupid! And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!
