I dont have a CD/DVD sharing option

I have a Macbook Air which operates on Lion, and only recently brought a new epson printer which needs a CD for installation. But my air does not have an optical drive, so I have to use my old laptop (windows).
After researching I downloaded remote disk from apple which would not work because 'I already have an updated version'
As I looked for that it became evident that I do not have a sharing oprtion for an optical drive in my preferences,
is there either another way I can share optical drives, or a way to find this option?

The Air wouldn;t have this option because it does not have a DVD drive. That option is on the machine sharing its drive
Normally of course the other Mac with the drive would have this option and you would turn it on there and then the Air would see the drive and use it.
How you can accomplish this when the system with the DVD drive is a windows box I can't say. But you should be looking at the windows box to see how you can set it to share its drive.

U400 - dont have rights to dvd burner?

I just got a new u400 today. The first thing I did was try to make a recovery disk. The first disk burned, then when I tried the second disk I got a message saying that there was no dvd burner or I dont have rights to the dvd burner. All subsequent attempts to burn the disk showed the same message. Anybody got any ideas? Thx.

I tried the last two days everything from this forum. Run bootcamp, after restart (hold alt) go to the mac HD and delete or replace the bootcamp device (tried both options). had it almost done, at the end when it was installing/finnishing windows the error code "could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase...... " and of course after that the "no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key boot camp".
Please help me to fix this thing!

How to back up your mac with dvd-sharing?

i have a mac mini fall 2012 so i havent got any dvd drive, but my mac has it, i can dvd share, at least it says it can, but i cant see the empty disc that i want to make my backup on, i do not know how to back up my mac when i dont have a external dvd drive for my mac mini, and dont have a external harddisc.
pleas help me explain how to do it.

Hello Mikel,
As far as I know CD/DVD Sharing is Read Only, you can't write to it remotely.
Also, DVDs for backup is not very good for most things, a cheap USB Hard Drive would be far better/faster.
You could, if need be, make Disk Images of what you want to backup on the Mini, then move the files to the other Mac for burning.

I cannot stress enough that you should not be rendering to compressed versions from After Effects.
Render to a lossless codec, preferably 10bit from a 16bit project, then compress afterwards.
It will look better and file size will be smaller.
You can't 2 pass encode whilst rendering.
This 2 step way is usually actually quicker as the initial rendering is quicker.
And you can then make different versions to get the size/setting/format you want.
Be aware that the default "Lossless" setting is Animation (8 bit RGB) and for some reason has the audio turned off.

EUFI CD/DVD Boot Option

I have a Qosmio X870-BT3G23 running Win8. It will not boot from the CD/DVD drive. The message is as follows:
"System doesn't have any CD/DVD boot option. Please select other boot option in Boot Manager Menu."
The problem is that there aren't any other boot options. A call to Toshiba support revealed that in order to have
the CD/DVD option, I would have to pay for premium service call.

you need to order this CD/DVD from toshiba. Or i guess (but not familiar with this for 100%) you can create your own with windows recovery tool. Otherwise you can use standard win iso if you have a windows key to activate it later.

If you were running 10.7 or later, and had a normal install, there are two ways to get there
Command-R at Startup is the usual method.
Option key at Startup draws a gray screen and puts up an Icon for each Bootable Volume. Among them should be Recovery_HD. Choose that and proceed.
The Recovery_HD partition is treated as a special case, and is NOT shown by default in Disk Utility. There are parameters you can change to get Disk Utility to show all partitions.

hello, i ordered photoshop on creative cloud in August 2014 on a monthly plan, had no problems installing and using etc, until both mine and my girlfriends laptops were damaged. I then stopped paying my monthly plan. and PS was deactivated. I recently got a new laptop which im using currently, it is an aspire one with windows 7. I paid my debt to adobe to reactivate, Creative Cloud Photography plan (one-year) . I then downloaded creative cloud and logged in as usual, i go to the apps page to install PS but it only has an option that says TRY. i looked into the problem and found that with my account i can only have PS installed on two devices, and the only two solutions i saw was to uninstall on the other devices and then re install. This is my problem, my girlfriend chucked her laptop straight in the bin whilst I have mine in the cupboard in pieces not working. or the other option was to open a new account with adobe. I dont really want to follow that option as I have just paid my debt and subscription for the next month and i dont want to change my email address associated with the adobe account. Any advice or solutions will be appreciated, thank you.

For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer. Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

I had a av cord that plugged into the iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 but its not compatible with the 5 connector. Right now i have to email myself the videos in small segments and open and save on the iPad 2 to burn them. Is there an easier way to burn these from my iPhone 5 or through air play on apple tv?

Connect the phone by USB to the computer, import with image capture, iPhoto or whatever application you use to import movies, drop it into iTunes.
