Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync all media and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

If you want to simply do a 'fresh' install (versus wiping out all of your data and doing a 'clean' install) simply boot to your Recovery partition (hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and when the Recovery screen appears, elect to freshly install OS X.
Don't know that will solve your problem, though... did you do the 'automatic' update or download the update as a disk image (.dmg)? I wouldn't think that would be causing your problems...

Thank you I tried the reset again did not fix- I think I am down to calling Apple and paying for a tech - phone company says it is a software problem. I just updated to 8.1.3 - I thought the update might fix it.

BT homehub 4 and ipads; iphones won't work any ideas?

hI im having real problems with new BT homehub 4 swapped over from EE foe same reasons, but now can logon onto network but not internet, tried resetiing the router, switched off all but one ipad and still doesnt connect, tried switching off the 5ghz changed channels and more still useless....any ideas ?

Greg, although some methods (rice, hair dryers, etc) have been somewhat successful with water damage, there still lies the issue of safety. Improper use after liquid damage can cause shocking, and/or shortages that can lead to fire. I strongly urge anyone with liquid damage to proceed with extreme caution when using a device after choosing one of those methods. The best option is to always seek a replacement. Albeit, checking with the carrier to see if they have insurance or are eligible for an upgrade on their device, is certainly an option.

You can restore it, however you would have to perform a complete erase and install of the HD. I would first try resetting your SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 as well as resetting your PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

Dropped my phone in water and now the camera doesn't work, any ideas why its' the only thing not working

I somehow knocked my iphone 4s in the sink of water and everything seems to work except the camera. Is there a way to reinstall the software or does anyone know what I can do other than using phone protection insurance? All my pictures are there and they upload and share but just can't get the camera to take pictures.

The device is damage, it was dropped in water. You are lucky that the device works at all.

If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting were able to resolve the issue, we can be certain that it is hardware related meaning you'll need to take/send your iPod in for service or repair.

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You should still have your profile folder, so when you install 3. you will get your bookmarks and other user data back.

Just make sure Automatic Downloads are set up for that publication;
Newsstand updates subscriptions only when using a Wi-Fi connection. If you aren't seeing the latest issue:
Verify that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Check Settings > iTunes & App Store to verify that Automatic Downloads is enabled for that publication.

if you have a win os you should have dl'd an exe and a 7z file.
put both in the same directory and double click the exe.
