I downlaoded a movie from itunes but it remains stuck in "processing". Advice welcomed

My ipad is stuck "processing" a movie download from iTunes. I cant access anything else from the store whilst this problem persists. Advice please

Hello Ricci Achillini,
It sounds like you have a movie that started downloading, and is now stuck in Processing preventing you from downloading additional content, and from watching the video itself. I recommend signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes and App Stores first. Then close all the running apps on your iPad:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, sign back in and try again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
You may need to Resume the interrupted download with this article:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • I have downloaded the HD version of a movie from itunes, but when I sync it to my iPad 2 it will not play. It appears that it is on the iPad, but it will not play. Is this because it is HD, and if so is there a way to change it from being HD? Thanks

I'm having a similar problem ... just used my iPad 2 to purchase the Bourne trilogy and it downloaded fine but I did not try to play it right away.  Then I plugged the iPad into the computer and it downloaded the SD versions of the movie and I used iTunes to sync my movies.  Then I tried to play it and it said it could not open the movie.  I then did a full iPad restore and did a fresh sync and now I get the Cannot Opne pop up.  Did you ever find an answer to your question?

    Hello William
Check to make sure that in iTunes Preferences that Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases is check or check in the iTunes Store under Purchased to see if it rests there.  If you still cannot locate them, the report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying.  Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device.  Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below.  If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in.  Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

I am trying to download a movie from itunes, but ithere's isn't enough room to download. I have a iphone4, have deleted every app possible. Slimmed down photos to hardly anything. I could never update to ios7 because of storage problems. Only 2.5 GB available out of 5GB after deleting everything. I'm also out of town and cannot connect to a computer. I have wifi access though. Help?

    Update
OK, Today I went ahead & booted & tried again & it worked this time.
Not sure why it didn't yesterday. Maybe the servers were just overloaded? Several others reported similar.
Also yesterday when I ran Speedtest it showd download at about 25 mbps, This morning just before I re-started the download it was showing just above 30 mbps.  So maybe the internet was less busy? Or at least the parts between me & the test server.
& so far it is working ok.

  • HT1657 I have rented a movie from Itunes, but when I try to watch it it pauses itself, then skips to the next scene...can anyone tell me why and as I have paid money for this shouldn't I at least be able to watch without any hiccups?

You've tried restarting the film ? If it still skips then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

The movie is from iTunes.   You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.

  • HT1657 I rented a movie from iTunes but it is not showing up in the Movies section. What do I do?

I just rented and downloaded a movie from iTunes and now it will not show up in my iTunes library. What do I do?
It DOES show up in iTunes on my iPhone. It DOES NOT show up on my desktop.
    Any thoughts? Ideas?
I rented it for a flight I get on in 3 hours. Any quick help would be great.
    Thanks.

  • Rented movie from iTunes, but now the same computer is "not authorized"

I rented a movie from itunes.  Now I try to play it on the same computer and it won't play, it constantly asks me to authorize the computer (a little odd i'd say, since I downloaded it with the same exact account).  Then, when I select authorize this computer in iTunes, as predicted, it's already authorized.  Yet another problem with the iTunes store, another $4 stolen from me by apple.  My iTunes is up to date too.  What gives?  Another problem like this and I am def out of the apple ecosystem.

    Hello JGSA1,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with the movie rental purchased from the iTunes Store.  It sounds like you are doing everything correctly, and I understand your frustration with the continuous prompts to authorize the computer.
I recommend the following the steps in the following article for an issue like this:

  • Is there a way to stream movies or mirror them from my iphone onto my ipad screen? My iPad memory is too small to download the movies from iTunes but I have them downloaded on my iphone.

My ipad is only 16gb and just about full but my iphone is 64gb and has plenty of space. I have bought movies on iTunes and have been watching them on my iphone, but this seems a bit silly as I have an ipad with a larger screen. Is there a way to mirror or stream the movies from my iphone to my ipad?

Thx - the videos are on my Ipad - that is the problem - they are taking up all the storage and there is no room for anything else. Is there any place I can store them so that I can access them from time to time, but not have they use up all the space on the IPad? Sounds like the cloud is out...

  • Rented movie from iTunes but can't move it to my ipad

Just rented two movies through iTunes. Connected my iPad to my computer and went to move them to the iPad but get this error message when I hit "apply"
"movie name" was not copied to the iPad because it cannit be played on this iPad

The HD movie won't work, then. But assuming you're trying to move the SD movie separately, this is a long shot, but try restarting/resetting your iPad:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that still doesn't work, and no one else here has a suggestion, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. If they don't have an answer, they might be willing to refund at least the price of the SD movie.
    Regards.

I know the old solution was to go into the apps folder, right click on itunes and change it to 32 bit mode. Since OSX maverics I can not run it in 32bit mode anymore so now any of the itunes movies on my mac mini will not play.

  • Have rented a movie from iTunes but keep getting an error message cannot load film

I have downloaded a rental movie to my iPad started to watch it and it gave me an error of cannot load film, have tried deleting the film from my videos but cannot do that either, when I go back I to iTunes to start the process again it immediately tries to play the film but the same message come up. Any ideas?

Sounds like you might need to take it to an Apple Store but if it is an iPhone 3G it would no longer be under warranty.
Looking at the Apple Store online you can get an iPhone 3GS from $49 on AT&T if it comes to having to get a new one. Your other option is second hand.

  • I have rented a movie from iTunes, but cannot get it to play

The film has downloaded, and on the picture of the film title, there is the word "play" with an arrow.  When I click on the word play, nothing happens.  I have iTunes 10.5, and iTunes has been happy as a clam, and I can listen to music and audio books...but I cannot play this film!
I appreciate any advice anyone can give!
    Thanks,
    Shirley

Should be under Library>Movies. Try searching for it in the Movie section.
