You would need to purchase the product to receive a serial number. Otherwise you may continue to use the product in trial mode.

You can however set up a new App store account withut a credit card. That account is only good for free apps.

Anebz I would recommend fixing the connection error preventing the applications from contacting our activation server. I am trying to find at least the trial version so that I can enter the serial number that I have on the back of the case and activate the full version so I can get some work I need to get done finished. My laptop was thrown away after a flood in my basement and I believe the cd was still in it. I don't recall ever taking it out.
Forget your existing disc and serial number. They won't work.
Download the new non-activation version of CS2 (applies to CS owners as well) from

Question: I have just taken delivery of my LR5 disc. I had already downloaded the trial version. I just tried entering the serial number from my hard copy to authorise my downloaded trial version and it did not recognise the serial number. So, I loaded the hard copy, and the instructions said that it would just overwrite the downloaded version. And again it will not recognise my serial number! I am not wanting to uninstall the trial version as I have already got quite a lot of personal preferences entered etc. Help please. I am on a macbook pro with latest OS

Have you looked in the downloads folder?
It's necessary to open the download package and then start the installation from there. -

This means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

You mean the free trial of Acrobat, correct? If so, are you sure the PDF is opening in Acrobat, not Reader? If it is Acrobat, the tools could be hiding. - if that is the case View -> Tools -> Content Editing.
Just do not expect too much. Editing capability in Acrobat is pretty limited.
