I download firefox 3.6 and my screen is filled with icons which if i delete i cant use firefox whats going on i have previously used firefox without this happenning
I am a firefox user. One moring i switched on to find, lots of various plug ins and shortcuts etc all in small boxes with symbols , about 49 in all, covering my screen. I deleted them and then a message appreared saying i could not access firefox because plug ins were missing and i had to download firefox again, but the same icons returned to my screen. what can i do please?. It keepshappenning, I dont want all this lot on my screen.
The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

If you have difficulties fixing problems with software that is acting up I would suggest that you do a clean install of your OS and the software. That is, after backing up your files, of course.

When I'm using Safari, ocasionally the menu bar just disappears. I'm running the latest version of Lion and the latest version of Safari. This is not a full screen app problem. I have multiple windows open. This happens all the time! Firefox is fine! What the ****? Please help!
Right, like I'm trying to say, THERE IS NO SAFARI MENU bar. Example: I have multiple applications open, I click on a Photoshop window, the correct menu or title bar or whatever changes. Every other application window I click on brings up the correct "whatever" bar. If I click on the desktop, the "Finder Bar" shows up.
Everythiing else, BUT SAFARI, works the same way since OS X came out. This is ridiculous.
I'm getting the vibe that Apple is trying to get rid of the finder.... this is the way wrong direction. -
Songs in music library downloaded from a CD and synced to my old IPOD are not recognized by my new IPOD classic. What is the fix?
If you are using automatic syncing with your old iPod, select that iPod in iTunes and go to its Music tab (next to Summary). Note how this Music tab is set up. Maybe you can do a screen shot.
Now, select the new iPod in iTunes. Go to its Music tab, like you did for the old iPod. Set up the new iPod's Music tab exactly like the old iPod, and Apply the change.
The music on your new iPod should now match the old iPod. -
How can I download firefox WITHOUT visualbee
I downloaded the newest version of firefox yesterday to keep my current version up to date. Visualbee was included. I was unable to delete this annoying, irritating, unnecessary, frustrating and completly useless piece of nonsense that i have experienced since I began using a computer to connect with the internet.
I had to use every piece of software at my disposal to eliminate all traces from my computer.
Visualbee seems to have the power to keep adding itself to my registry even though I had attempted to remove it. It is self generating in a way that i have never experienced before.
I have been using firefox for several years.

Where did you download Firefox from? Mozilla doesn't include garbage "extras" like when you download Firefox from an official website.

Usually inside the battery compartment. Check your user manual for instructions on accessing the RAM slots. If you don't have the manual you can download a copy at support.apple.com/manuals/. You will need to know the actual model you have to get the correct manual for it.

I am trying to reinstall Windows (would not launch). I removed the partition and started over. I downloaded the support files and Windows 7 iso file to a USB drive. However, when I try to run the setup.exe program I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode." I was successful before, what am I doing wrong this time?
Try a restart.
If that doesn't fix the problem, shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Every time I use my I pad it keeps popping up with enter my iTunes password. I have nothing waiting to download and not trying to purchase anything yet every time I want to listen to music or use my apps this happens. Can anyone tell me how to stop this?
If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

When i plugged my ipod into the computer it started to make buzzing and screeching noises. It became hot so i removed it and then the screen froze while it continued to make these noises. I have never had anything like this happen. (never gotten it wet or had it exposed to extreme temperatures) It is also unresponsive to any buttons on the ipod and it didn't show up when i plugged it into my computer. What do I do? Also if it is unfixable could i get a free one from apple?

I just downloaded the Windows Migrator and tryed to open it. A window popped up saying "YOU CANT OPEN THE APPLICATION BECAUSE MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS ARE NOT SUPPORTED ON OS X". How do i transfer my files?
An .exe application is compiled for Windows. It will not run on a different OS. If you need to run this program, then you will have to install Windows on your Mac. Either as a separate bootable partition, or running in a virtual machine, such as Parallels or VMWare.

I have an iPad 1. I downloaded PrintCentral Pro and also the Bonjour Printer Wizard as prompted. I still can not print. What am I missing? I am new to this...Please help. Thank you!
Depending on what you are trying to print you may have to print from within the app. For example, to print an email or web page you have to open what you want to print from print central pro. If your printer is not a supported printer there is another app from the same developer that allows you to print from your iPad to your printer via a wired pc. You may want to drop them an email. They have pretty good customer service and respond to emails very quickly.

Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup... But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup... Then a Restore as New is the way to go...
