Generally that is a sign that the iPhone had previously been jailbroken
or hacked to work with other than the original wireless provider. The update
has relocked the iPhone to the original wireless provider. You must
contact them to see if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

I got one iphone 3GS which i got unlocked by AT&T.
After unlocked from AT&T i have been asked to restore the iphone. after restoring i am not able to activate it.
I am currently in india and using one Indian SIM card to activate it.

I purchase an iPhone 5 off Craigslist and not able to activate it.

I purchase an iPhone 5 off Craigslist. It came without the box and without the sim. When I got home, I tried activating it but, it says the other persons number and is asking me to confirm the last four of there social security number and billing zip code. And this phone number doesnt matches the number from whom i bought the phone. I got it unlocked as i wanted to use it with oversea or with some other carrier. i am not a ATT customer. I tried using T mobile sim(cut to nano) and ATT nano sime card. Still its doesnt let me pass the activation stage.
Anyone know how to get around this? I spent 10days on the phone with Apple and ATT and they couldnt help me. I tried contacting the person I purchased it off of with no success of reaching them. Please help if you know how to solve this issue.

WJosten is right, you probably got scammed.
The seller will likely report your phone as "stolen" so he can get a new one, and then you'll look like a thief holding a phone that does not belong to you. Nobody will help you then, not Apple and not the carriers.

Not able to activate Java even after clicking "allow and remember"

Hi,
After opening a website in Mozilla Firefox it shows "Activate Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U. This plugin has security vulnerabilities" and after clicking "allow and remember in red plugin icon in the address bar" the website closes automatically. Again after opening the same website the same problem exists - Not able to activate java.
After opening the same website in Google Chrome "Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U21 has crashed." - this message appears.
Please and Kindly help me solving this problem so that Im able to open the website.

Try popping out the SIM card and turn off the phone.
Pop in the SIM card once again and turn on the phone, make sure that the SIM card is placed and seated perfectly in the tray!
Tell me how did you unlock your phone!?

Not able to activate iMessage and Facetime

I updated my iphone just before a week to 6.1.3 and since then i am not able to activate Facetime. Though i was not able to activate iMessage even before updating. The reason i updated the iphone was to make the iMessage work. But then, it didnt help, I would be glad if anyone had help me on this

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Try using these steps to stop Lost Mode from iCloud.com:
Stop Lost Mode or change your contact info
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud).If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device that’s in Lost Mode.
Click Lost Mode, then change the information or click Stop Lost Mode.

Thanks for sharing the files. Adobe use the words "register" and "activate" to mean two different things, which you are mixing up.
"Register" means to send your details to Adobe so that you get mailings, and you are in their records. It has no connection to making the software work, or be licensed. Your messages talk about this.
"Activate" means to connect to Adobe, check the license, and decide whether or not you can use the software, then make the software live. Your messages do not talk about this, and as I said PageMaker is far to old to do this.
Few of us can remember anything useful about PageMaker, but I have an idea, a possibility. Two actually.
1. Make sure you install from your original disks, not from a download, because the download might just be a demo.
2. Perhaps when you install you get - during the install - a choice of demo or enter serial number. Perhaps you chose demo and it's TOO LATE to change. More recent software can be changed later, perhaps not with this fossil.

New iPhone will not connect to iTunes Store. Not able to activate

I bought my iPhone 3 weeks ago from an AT&T store and use it everyday. It works fine. I bought one for my wife 2 days ago from the same AT&T store and it does not work. After spending 2 + hours on the phone with Apple level 1 and 2 support, the final diagnosis is a bad sim card. (Apple phone support was very good and very professional) They are in process of sending me a box to mail the iPhone in for service and I am confidant they will fix the problem. I am disappointed, however, the iPhone did not work out of the box and I now have to wait for service on a brand new iPhone.
Has anyone experienced the following problem?
When connected to iTunes, the iPhone is not able to connect to the iTunes store and I receive the following error message, "We could not complete your iTunes request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active." I was not able to activate it.
The iPhone screen itself shows the iTunes logo and the sync connector. iTunes does not give me the ability to activate the phone nor make any changes to it. iPhone shows up in the device listing, but that is it. There are no settings in iTunes for making changes or setting up the new phone.
When I plug my iPhone into the computer, everything works fine. The new iPhone does not. I tried everything Apple recommended including: Resetting the phone and deleting / reinstalling iTunes, but nothing worked. So, here I am waiting for service on a brand new iPhone that I have paid for and am paying for monthly service, but cannot use. Kind of stinks...
Anyone have a similar problem?
