I downloaded a Firefox security update and now Firefox won't open. From what I can understand my firewall is most likely blocking Firefox now as it doesn't trust it. I have NO idea what to do next, what firewall I am using or even how to find out. HELP!
I have a MAC. If you can help me please be detailed and patient... I don't know what I am doing!

You can dispute any charges by doing an Arbitration or Mediation. I have never done it, so I can not help much there but this all may get you started.

Immediately after I downloaded the latest firefox security update my computer will no longer access the internet. I still have a fine wireless connection but Firefox, Internet Explorer, Itunes, and every other program will no longer access the internet, saying there is a connection error. I even tried restoring my system to a previous date but it said that a security program was preventing it from doing so.
What's the security program called? Is it '''Win 7 Security''' by any chance? There's a rogue AV app that will prevent internet access by that name. It comes in many different flavours, but it's basically the same product with different names depending on the operating system its aimed at. See screenshot.
Do you have another computer you can use to download Malwarebytes? Or can you get a friend to download it for you and copy it to a USB drive? Download from here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
You can use the USB drive to transfer the program to your own PC and then install it. -
As mentioned - I was trying to set up an iPod Touch, and it kept telling me "open iTunes," so it dawned on me that I probably needed to update it. So I updated it, and now it just doesn't open (it bounces once, and that's it).
For added info:
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
Technically I keep all my music on an external hard drive, but I don't think anything is corrupted (because it was working fine just before I updated it).

10.9.4 installed, now Software Update and App Store won't open
Ahoy.
I installed the 10.9.4 update and now Software Update and the App Store won't open. I don't know what other information might be relevant here.Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

I downloaded Itunes 7.0.1 and itunes still won't open
Neither iTunes 7.0.0 or 7.0.1 will open for me. Basically, I install everything without any errors, go to run the program, get the windows thinking hourglass for about 3 seconds and then nothing.
I can get 6.0.5 to still work but I can't access the music store and I haven't been able to since a week before they introduced 7.0.0. I am so frustrated with Apple and iTunes right now...

Ok, like many of you, I was also getting iTunes to hang when plugging in my shuffle, and it would just sit with the spinning beach ball. Even after an hour, it was still frozen. Well, I just fixed mine.
I went to check the Library File to see if it was too large or something, and I found my Music folder wouldn't open, and when it did it showed 0 items, yet iTunes was still playing songs. So I ran TechTool Deluxe on it (it came with your APP if you bought one). Anyway, it found Volume errors on the music drive. So I backed up the music folder to another drive, and let TechTool repair the errors. When it was done, I ran it again, no errors. I then opened iTunes, plugged in my shuffle, and it instantly grabbed new songs via Autofill and sync'd. So, I think the iTunes installer is causing errors to the volume, which is causing the hang ups. TechTool was able to fix the errors, and now iTunes runs fine. Hopefully that will help a few of you get yours working again.
For the record, I store my music on my secondary internal drive, and keep the library in my user folder on the boot drive. After running the fix, everything appears to be just fine, and from what I can tell I lost no data. -
Having a problem with itunes update. Download wants to update to a driver (k:) which my computer doesn't have. As a result the download does not go through.

It is not asking what part of your country you are in, but what country/region you are in.
Region encoding is the mechanism that enables motion picture studios to control the worldwide release of their movies. When signing in to eBay, I get an error message stating that there was an error in my input when I attempted to sign in... which also brings up the sign in page again... had no problems prior to the Firefox Security Update 3.6.6..... I can "claim " I forgot my password and using the forgotten password link... get into My eBay... but if I log out and then sign back in a day later... it's the same old thing all over again.... this browser is becoming as much a problem as Internet Explorer has been for years... The browser only does what the code on the page tells it to. I have seen the issue with other sites that work with IE or with Safari, but not firefox and some that work with firefox and IE but not Safari, it is the web developer's fault for the page that isn't working, not your browser.

My iPad2 has repeatedly refused to update to iOS7, whether connected to a PC or not. The error message indicates an unknown error has occurred, with error code 6. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how to solve it? Many thanks.

I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.

updated my mac to mountain lion 10.7.8.3 and now my app store, mail or facetime won't open. Also, I am not longer able to play videos through firefox. I tried downloading the combo for mountain lion and it refuses to install saying that I need to see developer. Whenever I try to open my appstore, mail or facetime it says that the programmes need to be installed and might not be compatible with this version of mac operating system. Can anyone help me?
It's not a bad install of Mountain Lion. I've had the same thing happen to me, but it affected not only Mail, but a variety of other programs including iPhoto and MS Office, where I had to delete preferences, caches, and reinstall the OS as well as the program itself. I'm still having issues with Mail, so I've gone to another program.
Everything was fine upon the initial install. I restarted my iMac about two weeks after the install, and that's when the issues began to happen. I've reinstalled Mountain Lion twice, but the same issues arise.
As I mentioned above, you'll need to figure out which preferences are causing the issue, then reinstall the program, as a fresh reinstallation will do you no good unless you wipe the drive completely.

I have just downloaded the latest "Office" update, and now my xls files only open in "Numbers". Can this be fixed?
You can try right clicking on one of your xls files select get info then select open with, select other then choose office excel and check the box to say always open this file type.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.

Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
