Have you tried dragging it onto your Pages icon?
Is it by any chance passworded?
It helps if you give some details:
eg What version of Pages you are using?
Can you just open Pages on its own?
The file extension and origin of the word doc
What message does the computer pop up when it fails to open?
Otherwise it is all just guesswork.

Excel document is automatically converting to a word doc and won't open

I Installed Microsoft Excel and Word 2007 onto my laptop. Since the, whenever I create an excel document and save the same, it saves as a Word doc and when trying to open the doc, an error message comes up. Why is the Excel doc automatically saving as a Word doc? How to correct this issue?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'm not surprised that ExportPDF is having a hard time converting handwriting. One option is to disable OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. Then, ExportPDF won't try to convert those elements into editable text. The only drawback to that is that you won't be able to edit those items when you open the converted document in Word.

Try resetting your SMC and NVRAM before attempting to install again.

Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Turn on the computer by pressing the Power Button.
On the built-in keyboard, press and hold the Command (⌘), Option (⌥), P, and R keys before the gray screen appears.
Continue to hold down the keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.
Release the keys on the built-in keyboard.

How or can i open an XML doc in an email. I downloaded it but can't get it open.

I would ask them for a file in a format that is commonly used, like PDF.
I really don't think that is what they intended to send to you.
There isn't a defined program to "open" an XML document, so expecting someone to be able to open and sign it is pretty silly. XML is unformatted data. See here: http://www.w3schools.com/xml/default.asp
The likely have a program that creates forms using XML. They sent you the raw markup instead of exporting it to a PDF or other useful format.

Can't open songs on new computer

I'm sure this is a topic that is asked all the time so please bear with me. My old computer bit the dust and I was forced to purchase a new one running windows 7. I was able to salvage the old hard drive by purchasing a hard drive enclosure and installed my documents to the new computer. I downloaded itunes to the new computer and it seemed like everything turned up in itunes including playlist and artwork. I thought everything was fine until I tried to select a song to play...nothing. All I got was the message; "The song "..." could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it" Of coarse, I would like to locate it but I haven't a clue where to begin or look. I would certainly appreciate anyones help. By the way, my ipod is an older one about 5 years old, 20gb and I think it was called a third generation, but I don't know for sure. Thanks in advance for your help

I athorized my iPod so that I can transfer my purchases onto my new computer which has also been athorized to my account but when I try to transfer the music i get a messegestating that my iPod is not authorized to transfer the music back can I get help?

Congratulations on your new computer! It sounds like you are trying to transfer your iTunes purchases from your iPod to iTunes on your computer, but you are repeatedly getting an authorization prompt.
Is it possible that some of these songs were purchased with an Apple ID you may have been using at another time? You mentioned that you don’t see these purchases under your past purchases in the iTunes Store. I recommend checking to see if they are hidden under your current Apple ID using the steps in the section titled “To unhide your purchases” in the following article:

If you are not seeing all the songs you expect to see after checking for hidden purchases, I recommend searching for an older Apple ID that you may have used. Use the steps in this article to find your Apple ID:

yrs ago and uses windows xp operating system. As I needed a new in the field laptop I went for a small new
HP netbook which is ideal for use from vehicle and suited my aim as it is loaded with windows XP!!!
The problem is I also use anold PS Elements 2 to resize field taken pictures and for e.mailing This was also sold for use with Windows XP..
On attempting to install it on this new netbook I get as far as the installation page, I select elements and leave adobe reader out of the install, click next get the timer and then it all goes back to my desktop?
I have tried to install manually but there is no sign of a setup.exe command?
Technical say they do not support this product anymore,can anyone help?

I tried installing PSE2 on two of my computers just now...both have large resolution screens.
On my Windows 7 SP1 system, clicking on AutoRun worked ok and I was able to get past the serial number page but cancelled after that because I have newer versions of PSE on there and didn't want to mess them up.
On my Vista SP2 system, clicking on AutoRun brought up a panel with several buttons including one that would install PSE2 and one that would install Acrobat 5, but none of those buttons worked. Clicking on any of the buttons showed a momentary button-depress change in the button, itself, but no new window ever opened. I had to manually open my CD in Windows Explorer and go down into the Adobe Photoshop Elements folder (as just suggested) and was able to run the setup.exe from there, and it worked just fine.
Setup.exe is in the following folder on my CD where your drive-letter may be different:
D:\Adobe Photoshop Elements\setup.exe

Seems that you don't have the most recent version installed right now. After launching Premiere Pro go to Help > Updates and check if any updates are available.

Audio problems and can't open project to another computer.

I'd like some help with moving a project from my G4 powerbook (10.4.3 1Gb RAM) to my G5 iMac (10.4.4 1.5Gb RAM) both with ilfe 06 installed. I copied the project file across and it won't start up on my iMac. The reason I'm trying to move the project over is that the audio quality on the entire (powerbook) project is absolutely u.s. (created on my brand new powerbook with factory settings intact). I have already used iMovie on my iMac with the same camera and it worked just fine and was kinda hoping that 'porting it over might cure the problem, although I'm not at all sure it will. I think the fault is probably embedded in the original. (incidentally, I CAN open the moved project when I connect my powerbook to my iMac)
Audio problem:
I noticed, while importing the clips, that my powerbook started sporadically cutting out the audio (unusual I thought!) but I was under a bit of pressure to complete and thought it was just a temporary glitch.
I'd appreciate some help with that also, if anyone has a suggestion.
Anyway, as I said, the project simply won't open on my iMac (I've checked permissions they seem OK) iMovie starts up when I click the project, but stalls until I click iMovie's icon in the dock, where upon the previous project I worked on loads up fine.
Most frustration overall, I thought if I had 2 machines I would have ultimate flexibility - It's not woking out like that at all.
I'm apprehensive about upgrading my powerbook to 10.4.4 at the moment - frightened I'll loose the whole thing!!

Same here. I don't have a solution, but I understand exactly your problem. This is what I did.
Imported movies into iPhoto from stills camera.
Opened iMovie, new project bla bla, dragged from event library (iphoto videos).
Made/edited movie etc.
All gone well. Exported to iTunes/iDVD etc no problem.
Now, I don't need to keep all the original video clips in iPhoto so can I delete them?
Yeah sure, I'll just drag the iMovie project to my ext HD as per the iMovie help files.(in iMovie)
Opened project that is now on ext HD.
File/Consolidate/Copy clips & Move events.
But.... it doesn't. The 'Copy clips' box even says '2.2gb' which is the right amount for the movie clips. But they never go to the iMovie project file on my ext HD.???

Downloaded the latest revision and now cannot open tabs for new searches or change the main tab from my home page. What did you do to my old Mozilla?

It opens to my home page but I cannot open another tab. If I change the address in the address bar, it will not go to the new address. I have to go to explorer to get these features now but I really liked my old firefox.

My old computer died and I bought a new one and installed Itunes. I reloaded all my old music, which I had on a backup disk. Itunes recognizes my music. I would like to move the existing playlists from my Ipod to Itunes. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

If you connect your ipod to the itunes. If it tells you you need to erase then just cancel that.
Click on your iPod in the left hand sidebar
Ctrl S to show sidebar
Select ipod and expand the selection by clicking onthe black arrow
Right mouse click on the iPod Playlist and select export
Then when you are done Use File > Library > Import Playlist (Ctrl + B to show top menu in windows)
This should put your playlists in iTunes which if the songs are there should work fine
