Apologies for the slightly pedantic answer, but in application terms, "closed" and "quit" are two different things. An application such as Safari can have several windows open, and each of them can be closed using the red button in the corner.
However, even after all windows are closed, the application is still running until you specifically quit it. You can tell it's still running by the small light under its icon in the Dock. If you hold your cursor down on the icon for a few seconds, you should see a pop up menu with the "Quit" option - click that to quit it. Or, click the icon once (this may launch a new window), then either go to the Safari menu and click Quit, or click cmd-Q, to completely quit the app.

There are two apps that I know of - and I would also swear that they come from the same developer, although they've different names. Both have free trials and both cost $40 (but both do 'other' video conversion as well).
One is WonderShare - I bought this one and it works very well for downloading YouTube videos as well as converting just about any file format you can think of.
The other is iSkysoft Video Converter (just noticed that it's now $36).
I tried them both and finally decided on WonderShare. Give them both a trial run and decide if you like either one enough to buy it. I don't know of any 'free' software that will allow you to download and convert YouTube videos, but perhaps someone else will come along and know of something...

Word Processing documents can be opened directly in Pages 4 (AppleWorks 6 only) but this is no longer available - the newPages 5 (Mavericks required) does not open AppleWorks documents. Panergy Software's docXConverter v3.2 ($19.95) can convert Appleworks 5 and 6 Word Processing documents to RTF (though it has been reported that it can only handle documents which contain only text, not those which include images or frames). The latest version of the free LibreOffice has announced that it can open AppleWorks 6 Word Processing documents and an ability to open ClarisWorks documents has been reported: it does appear to be able to handle at least some embedded images.
Draw Documents can be opened directly only in EazyDraw (the more expensive version from their website, not the cheaper one from the Mac App Store, and you will need v4.0 'Retro' not the most recent version) or Intaglio (though this appears not to be able to handle very complex drawings). LibreOffice will open simple Draw documents but I found it very unreliable with complex ones.

Joetex684 if the trial is indicating that it is expired then I would recommend evaluating Acrobat on a different computer. You can find more details at Adobe trial software expired early.
If you are facing a different error when launching or installing Acrobat can you please post the error message? What operating system are you using?

The file name is: FlashbackRemoveal.zip
Then double click that file to open.

I have installed J2SE. I have written a .java file that successfully compiles in MS DOS (I have a Windows 2000 platform). This program has JPanes, Jpanels etc. How do I run this program? I am guessing it is not through DOS.

The downloading of FF4 in Fedora 13 has gone and made a 45 item folder called Fire Fox in my home directory. Now what do i do with it.
If nothing can be done with it i'm more than happy with the Firefox 3.something i'm working with right now. If there was an Install file in that 45 item Fire Fox folder i'd probably click on it before asking for help. Please take your sweet time, i'm more than willing to be patient.

I just got the trail and 'tried' the Photoshop CC (2014) but I don't know how to open it now. I'm not finding any buttons or folders to open it.

I see that, it seems, everyone is having trouble with Firefox 6.0.2 and Adobe Flash 10.3. It's nice not to be alone, but is there an answer? My problem is I am continually asked to download the flash player. So how do I solve this situation?

Whenever I open PDF it informs me that Adobe Flash Player is not found. When I check the box to add it, I am taken to Firefox and given a choice to add it to Explorer or other systems. I have chosen both in the past and added it more than a few times. My system is XP service pack 3, already installed Flash Player 10.3.181.34 and Firefox 6.0.2. In checking your web site I see that others are having this problem too. I did not see how to solve it. Is there an answer?

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
