I downloaded Amazon Cloud Drive Photos app and now my phone won't recognized my Wi-fi network. My AT&T U-Verse technician is here and says
that is a known problem. Anyone else know how to resolve this without going to the Apple store?

It's in recovery mode. You don't have a choice. You have to restore the phone. Anything that was on it is already gone.
If you've been backing up/syncing on a regular basis, you won't lose anything except what's changed since the last backup.

Why did you wipe the drive?
Were you having problems?
If you were those problem may be related to a failing hard drive and that is why the TM backup could be restored.
In you topic header you say the system won't boot from the SL DVD, But it di for you to wipe the drive. Then it should again boot from the SL DVD.
Insert the DVD and reboot, hold down the Option key and select the Optical drive, SL DVD, as the Boot source.

In preferences turn on iTunes sharing in iTunes preferences and keep iTunes turned on in both accounts. Or better yet put the iTunes library on the main HD rather than in an account and set the location of the library to that location in iTunes preferences.

Try this for your home Wi-Fi:
On your iPhone, Settings > Wi-Fi > select your home network > "forget this network"
Power down (unplug) your wireless router
Restart your iPhone
Plug in your router
Re-join that network

I tried to update my iTunes software on my iPhone today and plugged it into my laptop. Before the process was complete, I received an error message saying I had to "restore" my iPhone before it would work with iTunes. Even more importantly, and troublesome, is the fact that now my phone won't even work at all. I can't turn the iPhone on, and all the screen shows is the iTunes icon with a picture of the white power cord. Can someone advise if there is a way to update the software without restoring my iPhone, which will cause me to lose everything on the phone (much of which I have not backed up yet)? Last, is my stuff already backed up by iCloud? I believe I have sellected that option on my phone, but honestly, have never really understood what iCloud is or does. I just downloaded the IOS upgrade, 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 won't pair with my Bluetooth in my car, despite repeated attempts to re-pair the two and despite the fact it's been paired fine previously. The car system tells me it's paired but then when I try to make a call I get another message that says there is no paired phone.

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

I tried to install iOS 7 and now my phone won't turn on?

Well, around 3 hours ago I tried to install iOS 7. It said I didn't have enough space so I deleted mostly all of my apps, all my music, all my photos and all my videos. It then said I had enough space so I went to install it. It kept saying error over and over again so I tried restarting my phone (which is an iPhone 4) and then it went all wrong. It just stayed on the Apple logo and never went off it. I asked around and I was told to do a hard reboot (I hold down the off and home button for 10 seconds, then lift my finger off the off button until the logo comes on again and links with my iTunes). I did this and it linked with my iTunes but it won't download iOS 7 from it (it says it has "40 hours remaining" or something ridiculous but doesn't budge - it wants to download iOS7 from iTunes when I am trying to recover my iPhone) because after waiting for a while, an error pops up. It's just a vicious cycle with nothing at all changing and it's really annoying me now. Can anyone help? It's getting late and I *REALLY* need this phone for tomorrow.
