Since you said it was zipped I assumed it really was. .odm is not .zip
Definitely contact your librarian or read their web site (my library provides details on what is required for electronic media). Usually e-books from a library require a special reader and only that reader will open the files (because access is highly regulated). Sometimes you cannot open them on a Mac at all, though they are getting a bit better about that.
You might want to be clearer in future posts. You posted this in an Intel Mac hardware forum. It is really a software question. Your profile says you are running OS 10.3.9 but no Intel machine can run that. It all just makes it harder to figure out what you need to get the files to work.

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.

HT3951 When I download audio books from the library why can't Isee the files in itunes. All of the chapters do not transfer.

When I download audio books from the library I can't find them in my itunes files. All of the chapters do not transfer to my itouch even though they all were downloaded.

I finally figured it out! On the book page of itunes I went to preferences and then import settings and changed the settings from aac to mp3 and when I went back to the page there was my itouch and clicked on it and then books and there were all my books and files! deleted 3 chapters that were greyed out and transfered them again and it worked. I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.

Just drag the song(s) to iTunes, if they are one of these formats (wav, m4a, mp3, mp4, wma etc) and they will appear under Music library.
If you have lots of music files, put them in a folder and go iTunes menu FILE, Add folder to library..... to add this folder at one go.

You do not need to do anything - iPhoto always keeps the original and you can revert to it at any time
If you want to be able to see the original and the cropped version in iPhoto at the same time duplicate the photo (this does not really duplicate but simply starts a new edit stream for the photo - command-d) and crop the duplicate

Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
That will re download and install the App Store for you which may help.
It's ok to install the combo even though you are already running v10.6.8
Restart your Mac after combo is installed, try downloading apps.
Note... if you have Little Snitch installed that will prevent downloads. If you have anti virus software installed, disable that and turn off the Firewall in System Prefereces > Security.

Ok...WMA ebook from the library converting to MP3...is it possible??

Scenario...my library lets you download ebooks to your computer. There are only 500 or so MP3 downloads for the Mac and a million WMA ebooks for Windows. Any possible way to convert the WMA files to MP3 so I can listen to them on my ipod?
