II downlaoded an Ibook on my Ipad. I can not find it in ibook. Where did it go.

If you downloaded it from the ibookstre then it should be in the iBooks app - in iBooks you've got 'Books' selected via the Collection button at the top of the bookshelf ? And does the ibook show as 'downloaded' when you tap on the Store button at the top left of the iBooks app and then go into the Purchased tab at the bottom ?
Have you tried closing iBooks app completely and seeing if the book shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

You can't. Books bought in iBooks, can only be read in the iBooks app due to copy right and DRM protection.
If the Book is a non-protected e-pub format or a PDF you could transfer it to your reader normally.

Can't find it in iBooks or Pages. I watched the progress bar fill up as it downloaded, so I am reasonably sure it is on my iPad somewhere.

The size of your file (which is now an attachment) suggests it is a multi paged document. Click on it to open it. In th top right corner you will see a box with an out-pointing arrow. Click on this to get a prompt with options where to open it as Rysz has correctly said. It must be in an app which is PDF compatible such as iBooks, Goodreader etc. The 'Open in' prompt, in reality, is asking you where you want to save the document to!

Yes you can install iBook or any other app on all 25 of your iPads in the cart. You will want to use a free program called Apple Configurator. With Configurator you can deploy apps and configuration profiles for your cart of iPads. Download only - 2.2.1 updater - where did it go ?

ok:
1. I synced my iPhone today
2. I got a message from iTunes you have a new download available
3. I dl to 90% and my whole computer halts (bummer)
4. I dl again this time choosing download only. I will apply the updater once I know I have the whole file.
5. where is it ? iTunes makes no mention, nor did I get any helpful dialogue.

Look in ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Software Updates.
It's called iPhone1,22.2.1_5H11Restore.ipsw and the size is 246.4 MB.

For some reason this happens to some people. The one thing that works is to reboot your iPad. To reboot: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad wil restart. Once it's back up, I'm betting you'll see iBooks.

I got the notice on my iPad to upgrade to 4.3.1, so I did a download only, and it completed. Where did it go? How do I install it?

I think it goes into username\Chimp\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates - but you should be able to search for it in explorer (it's name should be iPad1,14.3.1_8G4Restore.ipsw)
To install it, hold down the shift key and press the Check for Update button in iTunes on the iPad's summary screen and then navigate and select the above file.

Ok when I first got my Ipod Nano a week before my birthday, mid November. My mom and I went to visit my Dad in Alabama. (I live in Texas) I got my Ipod Nano and I started working with the software on his computer. I got about thirteen songs. I come home, insert the software and the Nano and succesfully download ten more songs onto my Itunes Library. Now I'm ready to put on these ten new songs. So I disconnect and reconnect the Nano and it give me these little boxes of stuff that say that I'm unauthorized to play these songs on this computer. While my Nano is saying not to disconnect. So I just click ok. I get out of Itunes and all that, to the point that my Ipod no longer flashing "Do not disconnect." I look at my Ipod and those thirteen songs are GONE. Without a trace. So I restarted my computer and downloaded the ten songs. Now where did those thirteen songs go? How can I get them back? They aren't in my library. I just don't know. Any ideas would be helpful.

Several ways to 'merge' the two Libraries:
- Burn the 13 music files to a CD or DVD (even a floppy disk) and copy them into your PC
- Use a USB 'Flash' drive to copy over the songs
- Use the iPod as a transfer device, as this extensive Apple link explains
- Network the two PCs and directly copy the files
- Sync the files to the iPod and use a recovery program to extract them from the iPod to your PC: See http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1293794#1293794
The first two options would be the easiest. The others are there just for completeness and 'giggles'.

It appears many of my apps disappeared with the new OS download both free and purchased. Where did they go and can I retrieve them

Did you check to see if you have another page of apps. There is a new Facetime app that can cause it to bump the pages.

Where are these PDFs coming from? What do you mean by "save PDF files to ibooks" and then "I do not get an 'open ibooks' message? If they are saved to ibooks (I assume you used itunes to save a dragged in PDF to the ibooks panel in apps) then you should be able to open and view them in ibooks. If they are not in ibooks (I'm assuming this is the case, since you want to get an "open in ibooks" option from the *share* icon, right?) then where are they on the mini, which app?

How/where did you buy it ? If it's an ibook from Apple then you can only download and read them in the iBooks app on an iPad - if you have the iBooks app on your iPad, and that book doesn't show on the bookshelf in the app, then you should be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the app.

You have to be at your original source where you downloaded your iTunes account (mine was my home computer). Delete the iBooks app, turn off your iPad. When you are back home or where you originally downloaded iTunes re-download the iBooks app. All your purchases will be there, deleting app does not delete your purchases but you may have to re-download all your books again. The key is to be at the original iTunes download spot. Good luck.
