    Hello Maxayla,
It sounds like you are getting error code 1 when you were attempting a restore. I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article which mentions that error code:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#1
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • During boot Yosemite shows a grey screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar - is this normal?

During boot Yosemite shows a grey screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar - is this normal?

    Same here after upgrade yesterday.
I can get OS utilities up using CMD R or holding the shift key (eventually), but if I simply then reinstall the OS will it not loose everything on my drive? I do have it backed up on Time Machine? What a nightmare - Apple Support does suck.  I am not paying £25 for them to call me to tell me how to fix a bug in their OS software upgrade.  Any help
Also does anyone know if it is possible to use time machine to go back to Snow Leopard? I have wasted much of the day on this now
    Cheers

  • Ipad screen stuck on Apple logo and empty progress bar.

    Hello,
My iPad screen is stuck on the Apple logo and empty progress bar. I have tried rebooting the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds but the screen doesn't change.
The problem arose after I tried to reset the sttings on the iPad after an app wouldn't open.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

  • Transferring info. from my old iPhone 4s to iPhone 5c but now my iPhone 5c is stuck on the connect to itunes screen

I was in the process of backing up my iPhone 5c when iTunes asked me if I'd like to update my iPhone. I agreed but I guess there was a problem when updating because it showed an error screen then everything stopped. Now my iPhone 5c is stuck on the connect to itunes screen. I've tried everything to try and fix this problem. Holding the home/power button and trying to restart, uninstalling/re-installing iTunes and nothing has worked so far. Please help!!

You will need to connect your iPhone to your computer and restore it using iTunes.  If you are unable to do so, you will need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • After updating to iOS 5.0.1 my iphone 4 is frozen on the screen with the apple logo and a progress bar under it. What should i do?

After updating to iOS 5.0.1 my iphone 4 is frozen on the screen with the apple logo and the progress bar under it. Held the power and home button, the phone shut off, and restarted the progress. If i try to turn the phone on, it keeps telling me to connect to iTunes. Once I do, it asks me to restore, i click restore, but it keeps on freezing at the screen. What is the problem? Error 1603 comes up. Followed the link to apple's page but nothing that was said there worked.

  • My iPhone 4 is stuck on the progress bar/connect to iTunes, been trying to restore it for about 3 hours, tried everything and nothing is working?

I've updated iTunes, checked all the network etc connections through iTunes and they are all fine. I've restarted my laptop twice, I'm an administrator on it, I've done the msconfig thing. It wasn't jailbroken or anything like that. It's been stuck at the same point on a progress bar for ages - before that, the progress bar completed fully twice, and still came up with the 'connect to iTunes' logo afterwards. I am at the end of my tether, and I need to fix this as soon as I can. Please, is there anything else I can try?

You voided your warranty when you jailbroke.
You surrendered help from Apple or this forum.  This forum is barred from discussing jailbreak by the TermsOfUse.
    No help here.

  • My Iphone 4s just went blank today.  I have tried charging, rebooting, restoring, and now recovering.  Nothing seems to have worked  While trying to recover, my Itunes says "waiting for Iphone"  My screen shows the Apple logo and a status bar.  It's 2 hrs

Help!!!  Been close to 3 hrs now

    Hello Sean,
It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If that does not resolve it the symptoms indicate to me that it is a hardware issue causing this to happen and would seek service for it:

  • Updated iphone 4 to new system and now apple logo and empty bar showing on screen and not eorking at all.  Url not recognised in itunes on computer

I just updated my iphone 4 to the new system (iSO 5- i think) anyway only new one, and the phone now has only the apple logo and an empty bar on the front.  Even when connected to my computer. Went into itunes and apparently the URL is not recognised nor is the phone recognised on my computer. Can someone help me. PLEASE.

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

  • Apple logo and a bar with no progress after iOS 5 update D:

After updating to iOS 5, strange things are happening now on my 32GB iPod touch 4th Gen..... It gest stuckwith a black background, a the apple logo, and a white progress bar with no progress at all.... it's been like that for hours now.... i can't close it even if i hold the power button for minutes so i let the battery die over night..... the same thing happened this morning.... and it became slightly hotter now....
iTunes seems to act stranger... at the capacity bar below where it shows how much space is available on my ipod touch, the OTHERS is just a few back then, it is now the majority of it leaving only 14.9 GB free of storage( where it is 25 before). And when I accidentally pressed sync, it suddenly freezes. I got tired. And I discontinued.
    To summarize:
I updated my ipod touch to iOS 5
Now, I can't use it anymore
the iPod heats up when charged
iTunes provide no help at all
iPod touch's screen freezes to the apple logo and a progress bar with no progress after it is charged
    What should I do now?
    =============================================================
One more thing, before any of these happened, i think i forgot to turn on Wi-Fi before the update. Can this be another factor the problem?

Something similar happened when I upgraded my 4th gen 8 gig iPod touch. It turns on and operates fine but I had the same space issue. The others category  takes up 2.3 gb of space and the empty space is 1.8 instead of the 3.9 I had before. Also, at least half of my songs won't even play. Apple needs to help us out here.

  • Updated iPhone 4s to ios8 but screen is stuck on white screen with apple logo and progress bar

I updated my phone last night and my iPhone screen is white and has a gray apple logo and a progress bar which has been the same for 12 hours. The bar looks almost completel but it hasn't moved at all. my phone was also unplugged accidentally during the night while it was on this screen. would that have any effect?

Turn it off, go into recovery mode (command R at boot), wipe everything, go back and install Yosemite. Its suggested that you are using ethernet as it goes a lot faster that Wifi and more reliable. If you do not have a ethernet cable, you can still use Wifi. Hope this fixes your problem.

  • White Screen with apple logo and a lock

Ok I shouldn't have messed around cause now I've lost everything
I normally sync on a PC-no problems...I decided to sync on my mac book, knowing I'd lose some stuff...I backed up too.
I was logged into itunes on laptop and logged out. I decided to just restore back to the version I happened to back up yesterday (cause now everything is lost). So when I did I restored it...then my iphone asked me if I wanted it to be a new phone or from an old version (I picked old) and when I connected to sync. the screen looked like all white except an apple logo and a small black lock on top right. This is what I saw on the screen when device syncs. It found device but seems like it isn't letting me in to do anything!!
This is on PC or laptop now.
    Help

Well I'm going to bed..gotta be up at 5 am..hopefully they fix it by then and crossing my fingers that I can get stuff back in morning!
    Thanks phil

  • MacBook pro 15" 2008 freezes at apple logo and spinning wheel

Have a MacBook pro early 2008 have installed lion but recently started to have problems. Started to freeze a lot so I would restart and most of the time it would work untill it froze again , now it's got worst every time I restart my Mac it won't go past apple logo and spinning wheel just freezes have been trying and trying but same thing freezes. Tried to start in save mode but no still freezes
Please has anyone got any suggestions thanks

The startup disk may need repairing.
    Use Lion Recovery
Not enough free space on the startup disk can cause the system to freeze.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

  • TS3694 hi i recently updated into ios 7.0.4 now i want to fully restore my ipad to resell but when i restore it it got stuck with apple logo and progress bar with 45% completed as firware file is downloaded using ipad 4 wifi itunes 11.3.8

hi i rescently updated my ipad 4 in ios 7.0.4 and for resell purpose i want to restore my ipad via itunes but it got stuck at apple logo and progress bar of 45% completed i tried it 50 times but it stuck on that exact point for hours i cant able to restore it and had no errors it just like freezes at one point i also uses dfu mode but got stuck at same problem using windows 7 32 bits itunes 11.3.8 ipad 4 wifi please help

My iPhone 5 wouldn't start after I turned it off a few minutes after writing this. It went into recovery mode and I had no choice but to connect to iTunes on PC and restore.
I restored to factory setting first, just to validate my phone was okay. For a second consecutive iOS update, the  iPhone 5 did not update smoothly while connected to PC and iTunes - I had to retry two times before the progress bar for the update showed. (The exact same problem with the restart occured when I updated to 7.0.4.)
The good news is that I was ultimately able to restore the iPhone 5 to factory settings while running iOS 7.0.6. I did have a backup from about a month ago lying around and was able to successfully restore with that as well, so the damage done is almost negligible since I had my contacts, notes, mail, etc. backed up to iCloud.
Once I completed both restores, the sync with iTunes worked fine.
