I downloaded firefox and the application I needed it for still doesn't work????

I am filling out a med school application on an HP laptop with Windows. When I accessed the application it said I could not do it with Windows --- that I had to download firefox which I thinkI did . Still can't fill out the application on my HP. Got my wife's Apple and it works fine. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I think you got an adware or other bad software on your system.
While some web sites may want you to use '''their''' comm program,
the site you should be on would not tell you what program to
use. Also, did the message include a link for Firefox? Was the
download from Mozilla? If not you may have a bad version.
What is the web address you are having trouble with? Is the FF
program you have from Mozilla? Have you tried Windows
internet explorer anyway?

If it in fact says you do have 10.1.102.64, & some sites say you need higher, it is a catch 22.

Erasing the device is supposed to erase the passcode which is supposed to allow you to activate the device again. Let it go for the 10 minutes and then see if you can activate it again. You can also try erasing the device again and see what happens.
Go to icloud.com/#find.
If prompted, sign in with your iCloud Apple ID.
Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
Select the device you want to erase.
Click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup.
This is what Apple recommends, so you have to trust that it is going to work .....

When I try to put the downloaded firefox into the application folder, it says a newrer version already exists, do you want to replace it. What should I do.

I have several older versions of Firefox in my application folder. I downloaded 5.0 and when I went to put it into my application folder a pop up window said a NEWER version already is in the folder - do I want to replace it.
It doesn't make sense. It won't just accept the new version as it previously did with other versions. I just want to know if I should go ahead and replace version.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

How can I uninstall firefox when the add/remove programs in control panel doesn't work, nor does opening it in the run command?

I tried to uninstall firefox using the control panel, add/remove programs. When I click on remove it does nothing. Then I tried using run, firefox, uninstall, helper and this does nothing either. Is there another way to remove it or repair it? I am using windows xp not 2000.

What is your problem with Firefox, re-installing Firefox does not normally fix problems.

Back button forward button, refresh and cancel button all do not work they are always grey out and the drop down history by forward arrow doesn't work either

The download button on the support.apple.com site does not work!!!! It keeps taking me in circles. All I'm trying to do is get the reset utility so I can fix the real problem with my apple product. This is starting to make windows support look relatively good.

You can't. 10.1.0.4 is a patch set and is available only from Metalink. You'll need a support contract to use Metalink.

I just got Firefox and the page is too wide for my screen and I can't see the scroll bar or other tools

I have a 19" flat screen monitor.

A few things to check:
(1) Full screen mode
The F11 key switches between normal and full screen modes. Make sure you are in normal mode with all the regular bars showing.
(2) Compatibility
One thing that sometimes happens is that Windows sets up Firefox in a compatibility mode. If the whole desktop changes resolution when you start Firefox, then that is the first thing to check. Close Firefox, right-click the program icon you use the start it up, choose Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and clear out any checkboxes that might be checked there.
(3) Zoom
It is easy to zoom the page accidentally using the mouse scroll wheel. To reset zoom, you can use Ctrl+0 (that's a zero) or
View menu > Zoom > Reset
When you are using the orange Firefox button (short menus), you can tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the classic menu bar to use the old View menu.

So I bought a Used copy of final cut pro 7, but i cant use it because I need a serial number and the serial number that came with it doesn't work. What do I do?

I bought my copy from ebay and when i got it I installed it, but every time i click on final cut pro 7 it asks for a serial number and when i put the on that came with it, it tells me it an invalid serail number. It is kinda making me want ti throw my mac out the window and just stick with windows.

First, find out if you bought an "Upgrade" version, or a "Full" version.
If you have an "Upgrade" version, it will require two serial numbers to work - first, the serial number of the last "Full" version you are upgrading from, then the serial number of the "Upgrade" software you are installing.

Some websites say that the connection reset, but after following the instructions to fix it, it still doesn't work, and recently they simply refuse to load.

Recently, Mozilla has refused to load certain webpages for me, saying that 'the connection was reset' or sometimes not loading at all. I don't know what's wrong and if it's just me. So far, I've had problems getting onto Random.org, Serenes Forest.net (which actually didn't load a few times), and Dictionary.com. Is there something wrong with my internet, and if there is, what? And why does this happen? (I don't have wireless internet, if that helps deduce the problem.)
I know that maybe this sounds like something that doesn't have to do with Firefox, but Firefox never did this before, and my computer has always worked fine before, so I think maybe something happened to my Firefox that's corrupted it in some way. Has a problem like this come up before, and if so, was it already solved?

If you are using wi-fi:
1- Are you connected?
2- Check if you have full access or only limited access, limited means no internet connection provided. (if so, proceed step 3)
3- Ping your wi-fi modem IP address:
ping 192.168.2.1 (my modem local IP Address)
If you get high number in round trip time (in miliseconds), turn off your modem for about 1 minute.
3- ping any site that did not load

I would just like to add to this thread. I have tried everything and every way listed here and found my own solution, for those of you who were having the same issue as me.
1. Type "'''about:config'''" in your search bar
2. Click "'''I'll be careful, i promise'''"
3. Type "'''newtab'''" in the search bar
4. Find "'''avg.userPreferences.newtabDisabledByUser'''"
5. Set value to '''true''' by either '''doube clicking''' or '''right click > toggle'''
This immediately deactivated the AVG new tab feature and reset my browser to it's default settings.
