I downloaded ICloud and IOS5 yesterday afternoon and it has been backing up/syncing to IPAD since 7:30 PM (over 18 hours). Is this usual or is there a problem with what it is doing. Should I stop the backup and start over or just let it keep going? I have WiFi, 3G through Verizon and it is rather slow. I am afraid that it might be using up all my available data allowance and is going to create a huge phone bill. Can anyone advise me as to what I should do? Has anyone had this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are downloading the update to iOS 5 and that would have to be done within iTunes on your computer using a WiFi network. The 3G service on the iPad is not being used for this or are you downloading some way that I've never heard of?
There is no way that it should take 18 hours so something has gone wrong. What stage are you stuck at? What does the iTunes progress bar indicate?

I would say to start by looking on their web site... unfortunately, that appears to be dead.

Seems like so many are having the same problem, but Apple has not offered any advice or statements yet. I was also asked to verify my apple id, but no email arrived and I have been locked out of my itunes account and icloud ever since...this apple id has been verified for many years already and it makes no sense that it needs re-verification. I researched my account at http:// appleid.apple.com and found that my original apple id ([email protected]) was still associated with my current email address, which happens to be my current apple id as well. (This merging occurred a few years ago at the request of Apple, mind you. I did not choose to make this change. But now my @mac.com original apple id and my current email address are no longer merged for access itunes account.)
So, I reverified my original @mac.com apple id which asked for a password change and credit card information for itunes. I reluctantly did this simply to have access to itunes...but, this created a "NEW" itunes account that is no longer linked to my regular itunes account that I am currently locked out of. (Strangely, the email address associated with my @mac.com account is the same as my old account....I am totally confused now)
I then signed into my iCloud account, through my iphone, using the @mac.com account. And now that part works. But still locked out of itunes account. -
Help! I downloaded IOS6 onto my iPhone 4. The download went fine, but I have been stuck on the reboot sction of my phone for over 6 hours. I started the process at 10:30 PM EST, it is now 5:13 AM EST. What should I do? The nearest Apple Store is hours away.

One more time, the Mac is ungrounded (no earth), the magsafe (in countries like the UK) has a 3 pin plug but there is still no earth connection beyond the ac adaptor, after that it is Dc positive / negative. Regardless of the foregoing off is off, no current flows! -
On setting iMessage has been tring to verify for over an hour I don't know what to do.

There is amazingly little on the web about this unwanted software regarding Safari. Also just noticed I repeated the same nonsense removal instructions you found. Sorry for being a parrot.
Couple of things to try.
1) Close Safari. Open the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder. Press Command+2 to change it to List view, then click Date Modified to sort them by time/date. Newest date should be at the top. If there's anything there with a date of just the past of couple of days, move it to the desktop. Launch Safari. Is it gone?
2) There are actually three folders named Internet Plug-Ins. Check the ones in the System folder, and in your user account Library folder. Again, looking for anything added just recently.
I saw the same page Linc posted to, but it didn't dawn on me at the time what the relation may be. Open the System Preferences and click on the Language & Region icon. If you see any Asian languages in the list as shown below. Highlight it and press the minus button to remove it. -
Ipod nano has been in recovery process for over 11 hours

My ipod nano wouldnt update to my itunes, saying something like my playlists were not there anymore? Well. they are, and working as far as i know. I had it restore itself, and it said "do not connect ipod, it is in recovery mode" so i waiting a few hours, and i closed my itunes, then opened another one up. It connected my ipod, then said "ipod is in recovery mode, it cannot be used by itunes. It will come up on itune source panel when finished."
It hasnt poped up yet, and im just wondering wether to disconnect my ipod... or what is this normal? i mean 11 hours is a LONG timemy dad fixed it nvm

Help with Time Machine for iMac.... Trying to back up iMac on to 2 TB external Hard Drive... it backed up 24.87 GB or the 459.29 GB and stopped.... now have a pinwheel... should I start over or let it work through?
Please read and use Time Machine FAQs & Time Machine Troubleshooting. If those do not solve your problem then please repost in the version of OS X you are using. Time Machine is part of OS X therefore you will find the most information for it there. For example if you are using Snow Leopard then use that forum.
Also when posting it's critical we at least know what version of OS X is installed on your iMac. Please complete your profile in the Your Stuff link above. -

I have been trying to download flash to watch an exam review and it has been stuck at 30% for hours. I tried restarting the download and it went to 30% and stopped again. I am using a Mac with the most up to date software available for it.
This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.

My Ipad was downloading the new IOS6 across WiFi and it froze half way through the process. The progress bar has been stuck at 50% for 2 hours now I cant turn it off or reset it any ideas

Make sure you are dealing with the correct product for the serial number. If the serial number is for a full creative suite then you need to get the suite, not the individual application, and vice versa.
Unrelated to that, in case it helps, here is a link to another site. You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
