I downloaded iOS 6 and now I cannot connect to the iTunes store.

I tried some of the suggestions on the boards - change the date to at least 5 years in the future, re-set the network settings, power off and on, but none worked. Any other ideas out there?

i had the same problem, and also had this problem with mountain lion. i changed the MTU on my router to 1300 and all working perfect.

    I've used itunes for several years (with regular annoyances) however since i upgraded to the latest version i cannot connect to the itunes store. i use windows 7, windows firewall and mcafee family protection but even if I turn off the latter it still can't connect.     Ah I figured it out.....Mcafey was blocking it. Why on earth did AVG being uninstalled update mcafey settings, to block firefox?

    I get a message that my ipad 2 and iphone 5 cannot connect to the itunes store when I try to sync a book to my book app. Although, when I click "store" both are able to access the itunes store. Also I tried to open a book that was synced and a message that I did not have enough memory to load this book popped up--when I know that I have well over 40gb of memory left in my ipad and over 16gb left in my iphone. The message that I cannot connect to the itunes store is strange that it offers no option and I have to hit OK to get out and use my ipad or iphone.

    Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
    If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and changing the date to a few months (or maybe a year or two) in the future and then re-trying

  • Cannot connect to the itunes store following update of itunes

    Have just updated my itunes on my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. Now I cannot connect to the itunes store. Have checked firewall settings, all OK. My daughters computer (also windows 7 64 bit) is still working OK, but HAS NOT got the latest version of itunes updated. Have other people had this problem with the latest update? There are no error messages. Just hangs there for a while then apple logo appears at the top with a blank screen. The black tool bar is also devoid of options.
    Has anyone managed to work out why and how to fix this?

    I had to use an additional command:
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    [hit enter]
    netsh int ip reset reset.log
    [hit enter]
    Reboot.
    My iTunes can now connect to the store.  Hope that helps someone.

    I own an iPad 2 and recently upgraded to ios 6. Since then, I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my home network.  I can navigate any other site and access any other application.  I can even reach the iTunes store through My Personal Hotspot and through my office network. 
    Has anyone experienced something similar?  My network carrier is Telmex and I know for sure, they block port 25.  Any guess on whether there could be a setting impeding connection?

    Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    I'm on iPhone software 2.0 and have a connection to the internet via WiFi and VPN (using the integrated Cisco client). Everything works fine (Safari, Mail, mobileme push of contacts and calendars) but the iTunes Store and the App Store won't. While the App Store keeps spinning the iTunes Store says "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". Has anyone else experienced a similar phenomenon?

    We're having the same issue. App Store and iTunes do not work when all traffic is tunneled over VPN. Yet, other applications like Safari, New York Times reader, Telnet, etc... work perfectly fine over VPN. If we have the iPhone switch over to using split tunneling VPN mode, then the App Store and iTunes work since they do not appear to be sending traffic over the VPN tunnel. I can say for certain that no outgoing traffic is being blocked on the VPN servers since I administer those servers. I also did a packet capture on the iPhone wireless session and it appears that the App Store sends traffic over the regular HTTP port. So it really doesn't make any sense from a VPN perspective why Safari would work but not the App Store or iTunes when you're tunneling all traffic over VPN. Our iPhones are using the latest firmware (5F136). If anyone has any update, please do share.

    1) SignOut from Your apple itunes account
    2) Again Sign In Your iTunes Account
    And  you can turn off your wifi/internet from your iphone and again turn it on
