I downloaded IOS 6 on both my iphone and ipad. Both are having severe wifi issues. Most of the time it will not connect.
Since installing IOS 6 on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, my wifi only works sporadically. If I reboot, it will work a while. Definitely did not have a problem until IOS 6. This needs to be fixed promptly so that users are not charged more by their carriers for not using wifi.
I for one at least am not experiencing Wi-Fi dropping on iOS 6.
Try this..
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may need to enter your network password.
Then restart the devices.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
And try turning off your router for about 5 minutes, turn it back on.

I cannot download the ios 5.1. I'v tried doing it through itunes after downloading the latest itunes. It says that my phone and ipad both have new updates and tries to coonect to update software server. That is where it hangs up and just keeps trying to connect but never does. This has solved loads of people who have this issue and have used an alternate DNS setting. Below are instructions for both iPhone OTA and on you Mac
If you are getting the error message "Unable to check for update" when you try an OTA (over the air update)
Change DNS Servers
Settings -> Wi-Fi
Click the blue arrow on your connected network
Delete everything in DNS and replace it with 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
Try again
If this works, you will probably want to remove the WiFi network using "Forget This Network" and then reconnect to it to get your original DNS servers back. Alternatively, make a note of the original DNS servers before deleting them and replace it after you are done.
If you are getting the error message "Unable to check for update" when you try through iTunes
On your Mac
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Network.
Select the network connection service you want to use (such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet, unless you named it something else) from the list, and then click Advanced.
Click DNS, and then click Add at the bottom of the DNS Servers list. Enter the IPv4 address for the DNS server.
You can use OpenDNS

You can Google Public DNS if you want
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
I have actually repointed my routers DNS so all my devices now point to OpenDNS servers -
my iPhone 4S the restore Ends at 60 % with error 1 (not -1).
I reinstall iTunes, download iOS 7.0.1 as ipsw and No success
I Think that is a problem of the iTunes or firmware versions :/.
Apple Please Help us!You can't Restore to any iOS other than 7.1.
If the error persists, try on another computer. Still no joy, it is a hardware failure. -

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning device recognition issues:

Follow these steps to resolve your issue:
If you haven't connected your iOS device to this computer before, unlock the device and tap Trust. Learn more about the Trust This Computer alert.
Restart your iOS device.
Restart your Mac.
Make sure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Install software updates on your Mac.
If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.
Check USB connections. iOS devices need USB 2.0 to work properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, check the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
Try another USB cable.

My wife and i have an iPhone 5 6.1.2 firmware.. We both are having horrible wifi signals. We have done everything we can.. What update will fix this? I am having the same problem with brand new Ipad Mini at my house.
It connects to the WiFi fine - but will not pull an IP address in DHCP mode, or if I set all the IP info statically - it still will not get any network access.
This doesn't look like a WiFi issue, as it does connect and is seen by the WiFi Access Point. All the normal WiFi fix stuff doesn't help.
- Using a Dlink DAP-2553 which is less than 2 months old.
Other devices connect fine, including Ipad 2.
This same Mini worked fine at another house and also connected to a mobile hotspot fine....so seems to be some weird IP issue with maybe this Access Point or maybe the older Router that I have (older Netgear)?
I am actually a network engineer and still have not been able to find a solution. Both the Ipad Mini and the Dlink WAP have the latest firmware loaded.
Wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem. -

Since Mavericks update my iPhone and iPad calendars
are NOT syncing with the calendar on my MacBook Pro.
I used to use iTunes but don't see the options now.
Does anyone know how to set up a sync.?I have temporarily solved the sync problem by using an older MBAir running snow leopard, I exported
both calendar and contacts and imported them in the MBA and synced normally.
Since I'm not about to send my data on the cloud, or setup a server to just sync my iphone,
I think this is a good workaround ! BTW I stopped updating my contacts and calendar on the MB, I only
update the iphone until a permanent solution is found !
And they better come up with one soon, because I'll just switch to an Android phone and Ubuntu linux for my MBP, Apple should make our lives easier, not harder !
I'm sure Samsung is having a ball ever since the sync issue was made public !

That's a new feature introduced in iOS 8 called Handoff. You can start something on your iPhone and finish it on your iPad or Mac. You can make the iPad stop ringing by going to Settings>FaceTime on the iPhone and toggling off iPhone Mobile Calls. You can do it on the iPad also.

I have applications on my iPhone and iPad that I don't want to show up on the family sharing menu (i.e., kid inappropriate stuff). When I follow the instructions from apple support for hiding apps, my iPhone and iPad apps cannot be "X-ed" out by hovering the mouse over the app icons in iTunes. Why can't I hide these?
You should be able to hide them, it's just that the 'x' is invisible (I assume that it's a bug with the current version of iTunes) - click on the app's top left corner where the 'x' should be, and it should become hidden.

Mail IOS 7.0.4 in IPhone and iPad question
I have been noticing that when I receive mail from this one company I only get the mails on my desktop. I do not get them on my IPhone OR my IPad. I already know that if I open the received mails on my desktop I will NOT see them on my IPhone or IPad but I purposely looked in my mail on my desktop amd see I recieved 3 mails from the same company, I did NOT open them so I then checked my mails on my IPhone and IPad and see all my other mails come in fine but the 3 from this ONE company do not show up on my IPhone or IPad.
I'm thinking this is a setting?
I have an IPhone 5 and an IPAd2 both running IOS 7.0.4
any other info needed I can supply. I'm going out of town I need to make sure I'm able to get mail from this company as it is toed to my job.

RDI just checked the settings on my Iphone and "Delete from server is set to never" ( it has always been this way)
I do not see "Delete from server" on my IPad settings
I also changed that preference on my desktop "mail settings" I will let you know if that does the trick.

Mail on my iPad and iPhone has stopped connecting using wifi. If I turn wifi off I can connect using cellular. I have tried deleting my AOL account and setting it up again as a new account but that hasn't helped.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
