I downloaded IOS 6 on my Ipad 2 Now it wont turn on??? HELP!

How can I fix this, my ipad 2 is stuck with a black screen and the apple logo, i tried reseting my ipad and it tried to start up the apple symbol flashes off and on a few times and than comes back to black screen with the apple logo, when i connect it to my computer nothing happens ? Any suggestions ?

This is what I ended up doing and it worked :
Force iPad into recovery mode:
1. turn off ipad if possible if not do following steps anyways
2. connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone for now
3. press and hold the home button down and connect the docking end of the cable to iPad
4. continue holding the home button until you see the "connect to iTune" screen which is a pic of a cable and a music note.
5. release the home button
6. open iTune
7. you should see :iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. use iTune to restore iPad
- you need to b patient and repeat the above many times to recover you iPad and make sure you iTunes is the 10.7 version and you have downloaded the IOS 6 to you itunes than it should work eventually. Hope this helps you.

In order to troubleshoot this issue, you may need to restart or reset your iPad according to the instructions found here:

Download ios 5.0.1 upgrade and now ipad2 wont connect to itunes

I downloaded the upgrade. iTunes said it was backing up my ipad-2. Some error happened and now all my iPad shows is the start-up screen telling me to hook the usb up to iTunes. iTunes doesnt recognize the iPad though. Tried the normal cycling of the iPad and restarting the computer in different ways but to no avail. I leave on a trip in 15 hours and really need my iPad. Any ideas?

It is definitely not flat. The screen is black - it appears to be dead. I have tried waiting, holding on/off for 10 seconds or more. I'm not sure what else to do. I have a smart cover and I closed this which locked my Ipad. Has anyone else experiencesd this and do you have a solution?

Did you try: Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds. Then allow for restart?
If still bad, you may need to do a "restore" from within itunes on your computer.

No, it's not in the store. If you have iOS 5+ on the iPad then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on the iPad so you can update directly on it. If you have iOS 4 then you can only update via your computer's iTunes

After updating IOS many people have the same problem that the mic no longer works and Apple say it is a hardware problem. Rubbish! Plug in an apple earphone and then try it. (Apple earphones have 4 sections on the jack plug, must be this type.) Mic works fine so obviously it is a problem in the new IOS and this is a way around it!

There is no longer iOS 7 available and no longer anyway to obtain or download it.
The current iOS version is iOS 8.0.2.
I would NOT advise updating your iPad at this time.
iOS 8, IMO, is still plenty buggy and NOT ready for older iPad 2 and 3 devices, as yet.
DO NOT UPDATE!
I would suggest waiting it out until, at least iOS 8.1 is, eventually, released.

I have tried to do a reset using the sleep button and home key and all I get is a white band across the screen and then it boots into the main system but it is just a series of white lines going across the screen, how can I do a restore on this?
