I downloaded latest version of iTunes for PC on my XP. Works fine. Connected my iPhone 5. I can see it. Cannot transfer any of my music to iPhone. I pull song to the right of screen, phone access pops open, plus sign on song title, drop it in, nothing
1) Downloaded latest iTunes version onto PC
2) connected iPhone 5 to PC
3) Transferred songs from my files to iPhone - everything worked ok.
4) downloaded app from Mac appstore - iConverter - to convert ringtones for use on iPhone
5) converted ringtones as instructed and got them over to iPhone to use - in process, had to SYNC tones and therefore, lost all the music files I had on iPhone.
6) went back to iTunes to copy over music files again and nothing would transfer. The iPhone listing on the right would pull out when I'd drag the music file over. A + sign would show on the song title and I would drop it in. I check my iPhone music and nothing is there.
7) also, a couple of songs somehow transferred in on their own and I can't delete them from the iPhone.
8) if I try to SYNC my music to the phone, it will erase the ringtones.

To move the iTunes library to this new computer I switched on Home Sharing and can see the other libraries on my home network. If I select tracks from a Shared library I can't import them as the strip containing "Show: All Items" and the "Settings" and "Import" buttons, does not display at the bottom of the screen. Frustrated!Ok...This was very odd. I left the installation program, in what I considered a frozen state on screen. After about 30 mins, to my surprise, It installed! I'm not computer literate, so, I don't know what to say. But, to just WAIT for it to respond! Good Luck!

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it. I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck. Any suggestions?

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

I have an old IPID touch and just bought a anew Nano. If I downoload the latest version of Itunes for my Nano, will I lose all of my osns stored in my old version of Itunes and can I still use my Touch (with my current songs on it) with the new version of Itunes? In the past when I downloaded a new version, I lost my songs on my Touch. Thank you for any help any one might offer.

I cannnot get overdrive media to recognize itunes for down loading library books or media. I tried "I think everything" Overdirive say I must download latest version of itunes. Add Folder to Library option is not available in the latest version of iTunes for Windows. I am using Windows 7 64 bit. Any suggestion ?

Hello all - I just upgrading to the latest version of itunes for Windows XP and have had nothing but problems. I download songs and then try the "add file to library" function. and nothing seems to add to my library. has anyone else experienced this issue and is there any resolution. PC Windows XPI have similar problem. I just upgraded to iTunes 7 and now there are 15 songs that can't be moved to my iPod Shuffle Library because of error message that the computer is not authorized. But I am using the same computer I bought the songs with and there have been no changes to my hard drive.

I've updated to latest version of iTunes for Windows today, and have up to date Windows 7. iTunes is closing down after about a minute, Windows just says iTunes has a problem. Never had a problem before. Is this a known error?
