First, download the version of Java you need. Then, go into Applications > Utilites > Java Preferences. Under the general tab you choose which version you'd like to use by checking or unchecking the versions installed.

Unfortunately there is no way for you to get it back. Just report it as lost/stolen to the police just in the rare case they catch someone with it. If you had "find my iphone" setup through mobile me, there would of been a chance. Sorry.

It's more than likely broken, a part has failed. You need to take it to a Apple store Genius Bar to be checked out and fixed. Or just buy a new Mac as to fix the one you have might be cost prohibitive. Especially if your warranty has expired.

HT1218 I recently updated from O.S. 10.6 to Mountain Lion and had additional memory installed. Now I can't get my wireless printer to print wirelessly. I went to Airport utilities as suggested above, but it says it can't locate any airport base station.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Downloaded an album and it's full of glitches. How can I get fixed copy?

I've just downloaded "Dystopia (Bonus Tracks Version)" by Midnight Juggernauts from the UK iTunes store, and it's full of pops and glitches. I've listened to the clips from the other version of the album (listed just as "Dystopia") and the pops aren't there. The difference can be heard best on the track "Intro", where the pops really stand out - there is clearly something wrong with the files I've received.
I now see that I can't download the album again - does anyone know what to do in a case like this? Is there any way I can contact Apple to get a proper copy of the album? I'm certainly not paying for it again!
I have only just started using iTunes, and have loved it so far. But obviously I'll never use it again if I can't rely on getting a proper copy of the music I've purchased!

Your phone is in recovery mode. All data on it are already lost. You must connect your phone to your computer and restore through iTunes.

Unless the device was backed up prior to restoring the backup from the iPod Touch, there is nothing to restore.
Just set up the email account again... it's not difficult, but you may need information from your corporate IT dept to set it up.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
1. If anything is plugged into the audio-out (headphone) port, unplug it.
2. From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Sound ▹ Output
Check the settings. The internal speakers should be selected as the output device, the Mute box should not be checked, and the volume slider should be at least halfway to the right.
3. You may need to darken the room for this step. Look inside the headphone port. If a red light is coming from the port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a headphone mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
4. Boot in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime. It will take much longer than usual. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual (without holding any keys) when the login screen appears. (Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.)
5. Reset the NVRAM.
6. Reset the SMC.
7. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

Yes, just reinstall from your Time Machine backup you made before updating to Mountain Lion.

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.
