I downloaded mountain lion onto my old mackbook pro, but would like to wipe it clean for my girlfriend, is there a way to wipe the computer clean, but still be able to keep mountain lion on it even though i already downloaded it?
Hey everyone, I just got the new retina display macbook pro, and here is where the problem lays is with my old macbook pro. I am wanting to give it to my girlfriend, but want to wipe the computer clean so she can have the macbook the way she wants it. I already downloaded mountain lion and was wondering what I need to do in order to keep mountain lion, but wipe everything else? I do not have any of the CDs for the old Macbook pro

Your license for Mountain Lion (or any OS version purchased at the app store) is not transferable - you can use it on any Mac you own and control; however, someone else getting that machine means the recipient will need to purchase ML The SLA states that you must erase the drive and reinstall the original OS. You will need to call Apple for replacement install disks.
If you leave ML on the machine, the recipient will never be able to reinstall the OS since the new Apple ID and machine ID no longer match.

Thanks.i have the same problem. i bought a new external hard drive and i am trying to move my entire library onto it. i copied all of my itunes library onto it but when i tried to delete a song off of my initial C: drive to test it, i had to go in an individually change where the songs location was. i already tried changing where the itunes music folder was located however the library still says its located on the C: drive.

I have a few failed downloads in the 'downloads' section on iTunes. It won't let me download any other video and it keeps asking me to 'tap to retry' I don't really care about the money lost but can anyone tell me if I can delete them from my iPod? Thanks x
Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
Is there a way to develop the same raw file multiple times, each time keeping the final product?
I've been working with my NEF raw files. When I import one into LR I can start developing it right away, which I've done. I also know that the modifications aren't made to the raw file but kept in an XMP file. Since the I'm not actually changing the raw file do you know if there is a way to make a secondary edit of the file?
Here's an example. Let's say I have a raw file and I want to develop it in color. Then when I'm all done I want to start over and develop it again and black and white but keep the color one as well.
I know I can undo all the edits I've made but then I lose all that work too.
Is there a way to develop an image twice and keep both final products? I know copying the raw file and renaming it is one crude way but I have to believe there's a better, easier way.Yes, you can make a virtual copy at any time.
If you want the virtual copy to be un-edited after you have done some editing to the "non-virtual copy", you could open the "non-virtual copy" in the Develop Module, click on Reset, create the virtual copy, then undo the Reset operation (click on the last real edit in the History Panel) -

Try a reset on the device. This will have no affect on your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

With the new Keynote upgrade (version 6.1), the slide image size on handouts is very small, which makes it difficult to read slide content when compiling lecture notes for students. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping to a format of 3 slides per page with lines?
A number of posts have reported the same issue, two workarounds:

check the paper handling options or equivalent in your print dialogue box and set to scale to fit

in the Keynote option, in the dropdown menu in the Print section, select Individual Slides
then choose Layout, and set the number of pages, when printed you will have multiple pages on a single sheet. -

Do you have a backup from the old GarageBand installation?
You need to restore the instrument library, for example for the Jazz Kit from GarageBand '11 :
Restore the file
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Instruments/Jazz Kit.exs
and the folder
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files/Jazz Kit/
Then you should be able to use the instrument from the Legacy > GarageBand section of the Library. -
I have an ipod touch (4th gen) and just bought a clock/charger/player. It says I need ios 4.3. I keep getting a message saying I can download ios 6.? but that it will wipe everything off my ipod. Is there any way to get the ios without wiping out my files?
There is no supported method to "downgrade" iOS on any device. If you update, you will get the latest iOS for your device, which will be iOS 6.1.3. You cannot go backwards to iOS 4.3
If you have never backed up in either iCloud or iTunes, then upgrading to iOS 6.1.3 will involve restoring your device as part of the upgrade. Without a backup to restore from, you will loose everything that is on it.
You should first connect to iTunes with your computer, sync your device without upgrading and create an up to date backup of everything. Then use the upgrade option in iTunes to update your iOS.
However, if the dock device strictly requires iOS 4.3, it will not work, as you cannot downgrade iOS. There simply is no mechanism from Apple to do that. -
I have an app called ipieta which was originally downloaded onto an ipod. I gave the ipod to someone else, but now that I've had the iphone I can not get the audio even though it is downloaded into itunes music like it said to do. It won't work. I've tried more than several times to get help but nothing helps. Do I need to deauthorize the ipod or perhaps erase all the downloaded ipieta stuff and start over?

After I loaded Mac OS lion, it won't let me install my Sierra Wireless telstra. It keeps telling me to install it even though i already have. help please?
Check for new 64 bit software for the modem, other wise you I'll probably have to boot your Mac in 32 bit mode first.. And then every time you want to go online.
I have the Sierra wireless 306 and have their 64 bit lion software installed. Works well.
