I was trying to do the latest update on my desktop for my Itunes. I got MSVCR80.dll is missing. I saw a post about deleting all the apple itunes programs, restarting and reinstalling. I tried that. As it was installing a message came up about "Service'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services. I did a retry, got the same message, then hit ignore. It went on. Then a message popped up saying "Itunes not installed correctly" Error 7 (Windows error 126)

I had iTunes on my computer but when I went to update to the new version of iTunes it kept popping up that my Mobile Device Service failed to start. So I uninstalled iTunes and tried reinstalling but now I have a different box that pops up saying "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." So I followed the suggested steps to "stop and restart my Apple Mobile Device Service" but it only gave me the start option so I clicked on start and thats when I got the Error 1053 pop-up box!! Hi yesterday I was prompted to a update to itunes this I tried to do without success failing a number of times. After this I was prompted to unistall itunes and re install this now continues to fail with a message error something like Apple Mobile Devices Failed to start not enough previlieges. Please help is this a Apple issue Iv'e never had any problems before.
I had this same problem this morning. When I tried to run ITunes after the failed upgrade I got a "msvcr80.dll is missing" driver error.
Following the instructions in step 1 of this link:

got the latest version of ITunes up and running for me.
The only thing that didn't quite work like the instructions said was I couldn't get the Apple Mobile Device Support to uninstall. The uninstall ran and said it was successful, but it was never removed from my list of installed programs. Even w/ that, the full re-install fixed the issue. -
Apple mobile device failed to start during installing itunes
I got an error message while trying to install iTunes says that apple mobile device failed to start. i ignored this message and continued the installation process but it gave me another error and iTunes didn't work. i uninstalled it many times and tried many of the solutions on the support communities but it didn't repair it and i still have the same problem and now I can't use iTunes at all from the time i tried to upgrade to latest version.

The "for older video cards" version may well work for you when the regular 64-bit installer does not.

I then uninstalled Itunes and tried to reinstall and received the same message. Not sure how to take care of it so that I can use Itunes again.
