I downloaded the update - FF wants to restart my computer. It does not work. I can not open it and I can not unistall it.
After downloading updates - FF does not work - I cannot open it and it keeps wanting to restart my computer. I did that several times and it does not work. I cannot unistall - get the same message.
Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator) or reboot and login as a user with Administrator privileges.

Hi all.
I need some help. I have recently installed a new Hard Drive in my Macbook and have re-installed Snow Leopard. Since doing so there have been a few things that haven't been quite the same.
1) Certain buttons decided they didnt want to work anymore. These being the Space Bar, the Tab key, all four arrow keys, Caps lock, Volume up, Eject, and a few others.
After putting up with this for a couple of weeks and looking at numerous forums, they all of a sudden came back to life (Hence why I'm actually able to type this message) THEN, they packed up again. Then started again, then packed again, and so on. They seem to have a mind of their own.
Please... does anyone know whats going on? Is it a hardware prob? Is it something to do with the way Ive installed the Hard Drive? Have I forgotten to do something?
2) Ever since my buttons initially came back to life, the "Do you want to restart you computer?" window keeps popping up every couple of minutes.
It's the window that says "Restart, Sleep, Cancel, Shut Down"
It's driving me insane and I can't help but think that the two probs are related.
If anyone out there has any ideas at all, they would be most welcome.
Many thanks in advance
MadDogSnapsHave you tried reinstalling the original drive? Same symptoms with it?

I upgraded my MacBook Pro with Lion (but with iphoto 9.2.1) to Maverick and now I can't open iphoto and I can't update either - can anyone help please?
Download the iPhoto upgrade from the App Store. It should be free.
iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform. -
Downloaded the update 6 times or so. Everything goes down as usual until the restart. I get FF5 open and a window that tries to connect to the update server forever. (actually, I let it go for a couple hours before closing it) Everyday it wants me to update to 6.0, your site warns me that I'm running an insecure version, to update, yet the update refuses to work. What is wrong?
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
After update to 10.1.3 the menus can't open normally and printing is not possibe
Hello,
Does anyone recognise this problem and can help me ?
After the update to 10.1.3 I the menus open fuzzy. So I can still read the pdf , but when I push the print button, the printscreen gets fuzzy and I cant continue.
This also happens when I try to read other menus like preferences etc.
I can still open and read pdf files normally and printing from other programs like word f.e. is still possible.
I downloaded the update again, but this didn't help. Then I tried to delete with the cleaner and do a full installation, but I still have the same problem.
Can anybody help me please ?
GreetzOK.... what I've tried so far is creating an archive..... That worked but no import.....
I also tried Russ' suggestion of using the card reader. Interestingly I was able to import.
Now I plug in the card and it's importing fine as I write this.
I don't know what the deal is but it's working after I tried the card reader.
For now.
Thanks for the suggestions. -

Whenever I plug my iPad into my desktop PC (windows 8.1), the "trust this computer?" popup keeps displaying on my iPad. I tap it but it just beeps and a few moments later it shows up again. Meanwhile, itunes keeps giving me error messages and giving me the message "Do you want to allow this computer to access information on this ipad?" I click continue but the ipad keeps giving me the trust this computer message every 3 seconds. I've never been able to sync this ipad with my computer yet because of this problem. Any suggestions?
I finally was able to solve my problem. I'm not sure why it happened but after updating my iPad to the most recent iOS, it works just fine. I had iOS 8 before, but it was the first release, not the update. I have the latest iTunes on my computer so maybe they weren't compatible. Anyway, if anyone else is having this problem, make sure everything is up to date.

Started using Firefox 4 Betas (pilot test), I closed or logged off computer for a little then signed back on, automaticly had a request to allow Firefox to update so I selected to allow. Firefox updated to the 3.6.
So what happened to FireFox 4 Betas I had previously downloaded? The Firefox 4 betas by default are installed in a different location than Firefox 3.6. You appear to have opened Firefox 3.6 which would then update it to the latest version. You should still have the Firefox 4 beta installed. Check your program files to see if Firefox 4 beta is installed. The release version is normally found here - C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ and beta vesion in a folder with a name similar to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta n\
For info the Firefox 4 release candidate is due out soon, though no date has been set it may be sometime in the next week. -

not responding
Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If not successful, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar -
Why does the App store say 'download' to OSX Mavericks when i have already downloaded the update, and restarted the computer?
I can't find Mavericks icon on the dashboard or launchpad either! Help!It sounds like you've installed Mavericks. You can confirm this by clicking on the Apple located at the top left of the screen and choosing "About This Mac" from the menu. You should see a window appear with the text "Version 10.9.1" near the middle.
If it says "Version 10.9.1", then you've installed Mavericks. It still says "Download" in the App Store because you can still download the operating system after installing it. This is useful if you want to download it for a friend, or create a USB boot drive.

firefox message comes up every time I try to get on the interner with firefox. I received an email about two weeks ago from Mozilla advising me to download the updated firefox program. I have not been able to get to firefox since. I have tried to delete mozilla from my computer and get the message that I must reboot the system. I get the same message when I try to get on the internet with firefox. STATEMENT IS "Your computer must be restarted to complete previous upgrade of Firefox."
Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click firefox.exe: Run as Administrator).
If that doesn't solve the problem then remove the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.

While attempting to install the latest iTunes update, version 10.5.3, I encountered an issue. I was forced to download this update manually which, after restarting my Windows 7, did not install properly. How do I get it to install this update?
The installer should have gone into your Apple Software Update folder:
C:\USERS\<user name>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
Right mouse click the msi file and select INSTALL -
Once I download the update (OS X Yosemite, 10.10.3, Recovery Update 1.0), after the system automatically restarts, the launch page is "Software Update Launcher." Looks like a typical menu bar, and the rest of the screen is blank. None of the commands work, though. Even trying to shut down via the menu doesn't work, and the only way to get past the page is a hard shutdown and restart. Once restarting, everything works as it should EXCEPT the update did not install.
This same thing happened with the previous Yosemite update, and I wound up taking the laptop to the Genius bar where no one was familiar with the error. After running virtually every diagnostic, removing a suspected out of date security application (Intego), the decision was to restore the Mac to factory pristine state. OUCH.
We have a MacBook Air, which has the same OS version and security and other third party software as the Pro, and it has not experienced this problem.
I've made another appointment at the Genius Bar, but I sure as heck don't relish the idea of having to wipe my Pro clean again and having to start all over. Time Machine backups are great, but they don't restore my system as though nothing happened.
Any suggestions or proven remedies??
Thanks.Another thing that is probably relevant now that I think of it:
I forgot that the xcode_3.2.6_and_ios_sdk_4.3.dmg file would not open on it's own. It would get all the way through the verification process and then display "invalid checksum". I had selected Skip to bypass the verification process in the hopes that it would install anyways. Just ejected it and tried to verify it again, same "invalid checksum" error.
I've looked for solutions online and everybody just says to keep downloading it/have a wired connection and to use Safari... I've downloaded the thing 5 times now meeting both of those requirements and the exact same issue occurs every time.

Best Practice: Where to put Listeners?
In a Swing application the typical way of handling events is to add a listener. So far, so good. But where to locate the listeners? Obviously there are a lot of possible solutions: - Scatter them all over your code, like using anonymous listeners. -
