I downloaded the weather channel - how do I get on my desktop as an icon?

If you downloaded it on the iPad, the icon should be there somewhere. If you downloaded the app in iTunes on your computer, you have to select it to sync in the apps tab of iTunes and sync it to the iPad.
Search the iPad if you did download direct. Look in all of your folders and on all screens. Do a search with Spotlight to be sure. GO to the home screen, swipe to the right, type the app name in the search field at the top and hit search on the keyboard to confirm that it is on the iPad.
If it is on the iPad and you want to move it to the home screen, tap and hold down on the icon until it wiggles, then hold down on the icon and drag it to the edge of the screen - about half way over - and hold it there until it jumps to the next screen. Keep doing that until you get it to the screen that you want it on. When you are done, tap the home button and the apps will stop wiggling.

Go into settings and see if you have Mute System Sounds checked or Lock Screen Orientation checked for the button just above the colume control on the right hand side of your iPad. If you have Screen Orentation checked, just move the button and your screen should rotate again. If you have Mute System Sounds, go to your home screen and then double tap your home button. The most recently used apps will appear. WIth your finger swipe those apps to the right and on the far left will be an icon for screen orientation. Touch it to turn it on again, and your screen should again rotate.

I was required to download the latest version of firefox, I use Fire FTP to manage my company's website, I was able to find this under tools, it's now gone. I've found where I can download it, the computer tells me it's not compatible with the current version of Firefox, if I try it again, the computer tells me it will be available after I re-start. I've done this several times, each time I get a different result, but no Fire FTP showing up under my tools button, Please help!!!

Have you tried logging out of your account via Settings > Store and logging back in and seeing if that makes any difference ? You could also try a reset and see if they download after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If an app is over 20 meg in size then you won't be able to download it over 3G, you will need to either use wifi on your iPad or download it to your computer's iTunes and then sync it across.

Delete the app and reinstall it. It's not like the app has tons of stored data. You will lose your favorite locations and they are easy to set up again.
Tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles. Tap the X on the icon to delete it. Tap the home button to stop the apps from wiggling. Download the app again.

Installed The Weather Channel, but icon is missing

I just purchased the Ipad2. I installed The Weather Channel app, but after it downloaded, the icon is missing. When I go to the App Store, it says it's installed. I tried searching for it and it doesn't come up in the list.

Have you tried swiping from screen to screen as well as using the Spotlight search feature suggested above? You can also look in any folders that you may have on your various screens.
I think that in the event that your iPad is entirely filled with apps, folders and all of your screens are full as well, it is possible that the icon will not be visible on the iPad. You could connect the iPad to your iTunes library and search the Apps area and the search screens there.

How do I get my account to log in again and function properly, I shouldn't have to wait until I have a meagre £2.99 in my account again do I because I need the app store for other apps etc and updating, even if it is only 3 days I want my account back, I do not want nor did I give permission for the in-app purchase and would be happy for it to be returned/credited back so I can have MY account available for my IPhone.
Please can someone give me more information or let me know how else I can get my account working again, before pay day on tuesday.

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

Not possible. Safari won't download and save a Zip file. You either had to use a 3rd party app, or as wjosten suggests, your phone is jailbroken. If the former, you'll need to use that app to find it. If the latter, you'll have to look elsewhere for assistance.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Your signature lists both, Mac and iOS device - are you asking about GarageBand on your Mac or your iPhone/iPad?
If you are asking about the upgrade from GarageBand '11 to GarageBand 10.0 on your Mac, the old GarageBand version should still be installed. The installer will have moved GarageBand '11 to a separate folder "GarageBand 6.0.5" in your Applications folder. Open this folder and click "GarageBand". Does this version still see your old projects? If not, type ".band" into the Spotlight searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. Does that sfind your missing projects?
If you are asking about GarageBand on iPad/iPhone, there it is not possible to restore the previous version after you upgraded. And I do not see, how this upgrade could have deleted your projects. Have they completely vanished, or can you not open them any longer? If your projects have vanished, restore your device from your backup: See: iCloud: Backup and restore overview
