I dream of new features in the near future !!!

I dream of new features in the near future, including that of power sharing my screen on my TV (imagine a Keynote presentation or a spreadsheet in a presentation), and able to play my games on Iphone 4 content directly on my TV .
Wow, just imagine the power of that kind of function.

Imagine, at your work you have your Mac in your office and you need to do a presentation in the meeting room. You plug in your ATV into the projector or television to the wall and you make your presentation. Imagine the same preparation but not from your computer but from your iPhone or your IPAD.
Just imagine this possibility to me that this would be an important addition that would open the possibilities of this very beautiful object.
And my goal, it would also and especially to have this opportunity at the opening of the box without having to tweak the code.

I purchased Lightroom from B&H Photo a few months ago.  I did not instal the software, because I was purchasing a new computer in the near future.  I am now purchasing that computer, but cannot find the software.  B&H suggested that I contact you directly to help me.  I have the receipt, and you can look to see that the program was never used.  It would be great if you could just send me another copy of the software.  Thank you very much.

    Download from Adobe's website
Win: Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows
Mac: Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh
Install then enter your serial number when prompted.
I have the receipt, and you can look to see that the program was never used.
The receipt is only of use to B&H. Adobe will have no record of it.
If you quote an Adobe Lightroom serial number then Adobe can confirm if that serial number has ever been registered. That step should not be required at this stage though. Just install the software.

  • I currently have an old laptop and am thinking of upgrading to a new laptop in the near future, but I want to install lightroom anyways. Is it possible to download it on my current machine and still download it on my new laptop in the future?

i currently have an old laptop with the intention of upgrading soonish. I would like to go ahead and download lightroom but am worried when i get the new machine it wont transfer over. Is it possible to put lightroom on multiple computers from the same one purchase?

A single Lightroom license entitles you to two installations but for your personal use. There is no activation process for Lightroom, so you can simply uninstall from a computer you are no longer using and have it installed on two computers that you use. There are things to be aware of if you are going to move all of your work to a new computer. The following link will probably be of help to you.

  • I want to reject blocked calls.  Any hope that apple will support this feature in the near future?

This is a pretty simple thing I want to do...  I want to reject any incoming calls that do not reveal their phone number.  Simple, right?  Wrong.  My current choices are jail breaking the phone (and then buying an app to do what I want), or going through some pay-by-month site to display calling numbers.  It should be so much easier.  There are so many postings about this issue on the internet.  Why is not getting addressed by Apple?
    Thanks, -Jim

Unlikely Apple will do this as this is done on a carrier level, not a mobile phone level.

  • What are the new features for the latest version ...

what are the new features for the latest version of N6300? can you cite me the newest features?

The latest update was just bug fixes and improved stability, no new features. That is nearly always the case with series 40 phones like the 6300.
Nokia do not make the changelogs available publicly but often they do appear on unofficial sites. Searching google may provide you with more detailed info that cannot be posted here.

if you're not in a big rush - why not hold off until Adobe and Microsoft releases an update to support the Retina Screen.
Don't get me wrong - the Macbook Retina is a good and videos look great - but when it comes to Photoshop, it's a little blurry and the fonts in Excel and Word is pretty blurry too.....I own one....
In any event, if it's something you can live with - then by all means - go for it.....
Otherwise - get the non Retina Macbook Pro - it's cheaper, and it's user upgradeable in both RAM and Hard Drive.
    Good luck.

  • Do the ACE certifications only focus on new features in the version of the software.

    Hello everyone,
A bit confused about adobe ACE certifications.
right,  i was looking at using some of the revision notes from ucertify, and was a little baffled you see, in the notes theres is only 200 and something questions on the photoshop cs5 exam and when i looked on the photoshop cs4 exam prep there was like 600 and something?? most of these companies say that there prep kits feature 95% of the material required to pass the exam so looking at this it would be easier to pass the cs5 exam than the cs4 exam?
as i've never taken one of these exams before so this makes me think that the exams are only based on new features with the version of the software not a complete overview of the software.
is this right? or do they just not put it in the prep material as they expect you to have learnt it all from the previous exams?
    very confusing.
    hope someone can help
    tom.

yea thats what i thought, thats the most sensible answer that they expect you to
    know it.
but... have you taken any of the them? would love to hear from someone thats taken a few, i wasn't even sure if i'd put this post in the right forum to be honest.
just seems odd why they say 95% of the material is in the prep stuff seems too easy.
i'd have thought that since the cs4 exam had that many more questions that the cs5 exam would have even more prep material but obviously not so.

  • Will Ebay.ca remove the ability to list in US dollars sometime in the near future

After reading on the boards as well as some of the comments on the weekly board, how many sellers think this will become permanent as it is in all other countries? Only listing in Can dollars on the Canadian site. Could be an interesting discussion

"Finally, as eBay's only dual-currency listing platform, our French and English sites present architectural challenges that sometimes slows or event prevents the delivery of new functionality that has tested well on other sites. Removing USD support would simplify things for eBay as well as the companies in our ecosystem moving forward.
If we do ever decide to retire the option to list in USD on the Canadian site, we will communicate that decision, then look to do so gradually, over a period of time, to minimize disruption for sellers. Canadian sellers who prefer to sell in USD would still be able to list using eBay.com.  "________________________________________________________________________________________ Well, this was an interesting pronouncement, also interesting that Rodney stepped in to make it.  I read "architectural challenges" as "too much cost", for one thing.  Secondly, "delivery of new functionality that has tested well on other sites" sounds like a convenient excuse to me.  They've been making new functionality work on .ca for quite some time.  I agree with Pierre's view: "The way I read this comment by Rodney is that a final decision has not yet been made but will be made within the foreseeable future." ... and I suspect we had all better be prepared to be forced to list in $Cdn if we want to continue to list on eBay.ca. A few weeks ago when this topic was first mentioned by Raphael, I recall pointing out that eBay was probably trying to slowly get us accustomed to an unpalatable concept that would at some point be obligatory, by telling us that their "data" showed that all Canadian sellers would either benefit or see a neutral effect from listing in $Cdn.  It seems that time is around the corner now.   And I'm afraid I still think there is more behind this than the specious explanation given today would indicate.  No wonder they removed the reference to "15% more sales when listing in U.S.".  My goodness, who would want sellers to believe that if eBay needs (for reasons only they know) to have sellers list in $Cdn?  New propaganda required, quick!  Lastly, I find this part of Rodney's remarks rather disturbing: "Canadian sellers who prefer to sell in USD would still be able to list using eBay.com".   So, let me get this right: It appears eBay will likely force us to list only in $Cdn on .ca in the near future.  Yet many of us who mainly sell to the U.S. prefer to list in $US for obvious reasons of profitability.  At that point, the only option will be to list on eBay.com.    In other words, the only way Canadian sellers will really be able to make a profit (if you sell largely to the U.S.) will be to list on .com. Is it really just a coincidence that the recommended "workaround" for a longstanding and serious problem that we're told eBay will never fix (the ".com cart disconnect"), has been for Canadian sellers to list on .com exclusively?  This would be a absurd suggestion if it were not that eBay might have other motives in trying to direct more Canadian sellers onto .com, i.e. to ultimately phase out (or at least pare down) eBay.ca.   Consider this: perhaps this was the true reason eBay never resolved the cart disconnect -- they never intended to in the first place.  One might even cynically say that the disconnect was a deliberate step toward getting more Canadian sellers to list on .com.    Is eBay trying to "shepherd" Canadian sellers off eBay.ca?  I personally believe so, perhaps for fiscal reasons. Quite frankly if I'm still around here in 2 years I wouldn't be surprised to see the whole site phased out.

  • I am writing to this forum to ask for help in determining whether Aperture will satisfy my needs when I switch from Windows to MAC in the near future.

I am writing to this forum to ask for help in determining whether Aperture will satisfy my needs when I switch from Windows to MAC in the near future.
I am currently using Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7.  After several years of use, I am self taught and adequately proficient for an amateur.  What I didn't realize (until I started researching my upcoming migration on the Internet) is that I actually use PE8 for two functions: digital asset management and digital editing.
Regarding Digital Asset Management: My research leads me to understand that PE on MAC does not provide the same level of organizational capability that I am used to having on Windows, instead providing Adobe's Bridge which does not look very robust.  Furthermore, iPhoto, which come on MAC will not support the hierarchical keyword tagging that I require to organize my library of photos. The two SW applications which I am thinking of switching to are either Aperture or Adobe's Lightroom.  Frankly, I'm thinking that it would be smoother to stay within the Apple product line.
So the remaining question is whether Aperture will support my digital editing needs. The tweaks that I do to my photos are not very complex (no, I do not want to put people's heads on other animal bodies).  But could someone who uses Aperture tell me whether It will allow me to do the following kinds of edits?:
    - If I have a photo where someone's face is too shadowed, can I lighten just that person's face, and leave the rest of the photo as-is?
    - if I have a photo where the background is cluttered (eg, 2 people in front of the Parthenon which is undergoing renovation), can I remove just the construction cranes?
    - Can it splice together several separate photos to give a panoramic?
If, once I get Aperture, I find that it cannot enable the kinds of editing that I do, I would probably get PE11 in the future. However, if people in this forum tell me that Aperture will definitely not  support the kinds of editing which I've described in the previous paragraph, I would prefer to get PE11 with my initial configuration (since someone will be helping me with my migration).
Thanks in advance for your consideration and help!

I am concerned, however,  about using a non-Apple Digital Asset Manager in OSX. I would really like to avoid integration problems. Is using PE11 to import and catalog my digital photos likely to cause conflicts?
Thanks for any insight on this
    Amy,
Not so much conflicts as maybe a little less seamless integration with Apple software and perhaps some third-party software providers in the Mac App Store where some programs build in direct access to iPhoto and Aperture libraries for getting images into those programs easily. Typically, there is a manual command to go to Finder (think Windows Explorer) to browse folders.
One caution to mention however, is that the organization you set-up in PE Organizer is unlikely to transfer over to either iPhoto or Aperture if you decide to change at some point.
The only real stumbling block that I see in your opening comment is that you want hierarchical keywording (Kirby or Léonie can go into the details on keywording limitations as I stay at one level). If you can work with the keywording schemes of either iPhoto or Aperture, then using PE for your external editor (either program supports setting an external editor) would probably be ideal since you know PE well. This is the idea with the Mac App Store version of PE (editor with no organizer).
Note - I use Photoshop CS6 (full version) with Aperture and it works really well. The only downside is that Aperture has to make either a TIFF or PSD file to send to an external editor so that the original file is protected by not sending it to the pixel editor. While TIFF or PSD files protect the integrity of the image information without degrading it, they are typically much larger file sizes on disk than either RAW or JPEG files. Therefore, your library size (iPhoto or Aperture) will balloon quite a bit if you send a lot of files to external editors.
One other possibility for an external editor would be a program called Pixelmator. It is pretty similar to early versions of Photoshop, but built for Mac. Other than the panoramics you want, it will do most pixel editing that PE can do. It is not an organizer, so it is built to go with either iPhoto or Aperture. It does have differences in how you complete certain procedures, so there is bit of a learning curve when you are used to doing it the Adobe way.

If you think you want to use PSE on both platforms buy the boxed version, which comes with a serial number that works in both. Downloads have single-platform serial numbers. But at this time of year I don't think I'd buy PSE till the trial runs out.
