There are lots of videos on YouTube on methods people use to retrieve them. If you are strong enough to lift the computer then try shaking it on it's side, obviously make sure it's unplugged before doing so.

If you can Mark, take your iMac to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair provider.
IMHO, better to let Apple take care of this then inserting anything else in the slot that may damge the optical drive.

I just updated the iPad IOS to 8.3 and it will not finish the install it has been stuck for over 24 hours. I plug it into the Mac and the computer says that the iPad must give me access which of course I can't. So I can not do a hard reboot. help

If it's stuck on the progress bar then you could try a soft-reset and see if that gets it to complete : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should reappear and it will hopefully reboot fully.
If not then try recovery mode and restore to your backup : If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I am running windows 7. We updated firefox and it would no longer open. I uninstalled it and reinstalled from firefox website. I click on the firefox icon and it will not open. Help please

Right-click on your Windows Taskbar and select Start Task Manager. Look in Task Manager for processes running that are Firefox-related, such as Firefox.exe or plugin-container.exe. If you see either of those, right-click each of them and select "End process". Then try again to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. 
*If Firefox will start in Safe Mode, select the option you are presented with to disable your add-ons and plug-ins and restart Firefox normally. You likely have a plug-in, add-on, or a combination of two or more that is causing the problem. Because Firefox allows users to customize endlessly, sometimes there can be conflicts between customized items. From the Firefox menu bar, go to Tools -> Add-ons then re-enable them one by one, restarting Firefox after each and testing after each one to see which one or combination of two or more is causing the problem. 
*If Firefox will not start in Safe Mode, make sure you again check Task Manager and end any running instances, then uninstall Firefox and download a fresh copy from mozilla.org/firefox using another browser temporarily. Re-install Firefox (see: [[Installing Firefox on Windows]] for more help ) and try running Firefox again.

Hi there could someone out there please help i've got a Iphone 4 running on IOS 5 and it will not come out of recovery mode> It comes up with the error code -1 which i've looked everywhere on the web but no one seams to have the same issue.
This is a reconditioned replacement phone from the apple genius guys which i paid £130 for and only got 3 months warranty with and as soon as the warranty run out it crashed on me and never been able to get it back out of recovery mode. I've been back to the apple genius guys and they have told me there's nothing they can do other than charge me £130 to take the phone off me and give me another reconditioned phone with a 3 month warranty. Which as you can properly tell i dont want to.

This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Is your scratch drive over 1 Terabyte? Photoshop 7 was never programmed for those sizes and will return that type of error if you recently changed drives,
Solution is to partition that drive to less than one 1 TB or find a smaller drive.
And update to 7.0.1 Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant do not restore MS Windows, it only does the OS X partition. All of your Windows stuff must be backed up and restore using a MS Windows application. If no one on this forum is able to answer your question then I'd repost it on a Parallels forum to see how other Windows users approach this.
